Bell RS-1 Steam Punk Helmet The Bell RS-1 Steam Punk Helmet has some amazing graphics. Gears and pipes in shades of copper and bronze are rendered in amazing detail and visible through windows scattered across the helmet's surface. These graphics don't scream notice me but they certainly invite the eye to linger once revealed. Bridging the gap between the Star and the Vortex, the all-new Bell RS-1 is an amazing blend of mid-line price and high-end performance. Bell engineers have taken many of the best functionalities of the Star and packed them into the RS-1. The Bell RS-1 is the perfect choice for the sport rider who is a tad aggressive and likes days at the track. All told, its one great helmet at a modest price. Love this helmet for the graphics, however it is a very loud helmet. If you have aftermarket pipes, you will get some horrendous resonating in your helmet. Wind noise is average.
After 1 month of owning this, the chin strap loop that holds excess strap, broke, had to have it re-sewn on, no biggie.
Airflow is average, not amazing, but not lacking either.
Helmet is very light, I can ride for hours and at the end feel like I never had a helmet on at all.
Vision is great, very wide, barely encroaches on your peripheral vision.
Overall great helmet, just beware if you have loud exhaust!
There comes a time when lines are drawn, when decisions must be made. A time when you must choose your preferred side of the fence - a 'plain jane' wallflower or the boldest of riders. Are you the latter Do you long for the crowd's adoring screams. Do you look at the Hooligan2 Etched and ponder which colorway would best match your attitude Then you're choice is quite obvious. Ride on secure in the knowledge that your insatiable skull appetite will be satisfied. Durable fighter mesh chassis for maximum venting Heavyweight ballistic impact panels Stretch panels for increased mobility Removable CE field armor impact protector elbow Removable CE field armor impact protector shoulder Custom molded dual-density foam back pad Removable insulated liner Lined collar for comfort Internal zippered pocket for secure storage Relaxed Icon fit Imported
Love this jacket, and I do mean LOVE!!! If I could come up with one downside to it, and i'm really reaching here, is I wish it had some ventilation zippers on the back.
Ride mostly in 85+ degree 70%+ humidity weather, in northern florida, and this jacket is just awesome. I have to really put some hours in to start breaking a sweat. This jacket is just amazing in hot weather, it really shines.
Can't comment about safety/durability as i've yet to go down while wearing this jacket, but for every day wear and tear, if you don't count the bug guts, it looks brand new!
I recommend getting it in white, even if it clashes with your bike, if you live in the south. Also the styling is nice, you'll get a lot of compliments on the graphics!
Icon Overlord Short Gloves Targeted at the aggressive street rider, the Overlord short glove combines track level features with a wrist length pattern. The full Kangaroo palm, enhanced with Pittard's Keratan overlays, provides incredible feedback yet maintains serious abrasion resistant properties. A full Battlehide backhand serves and protects while keeping overall glove weight to an absolute minimum. Finally, the full plastic armor package and high dexterity floating knuckle design confirm the glove's performance lineage. The Overlord short from Icon, keeping the streets in check. Abrasion resistant premium grade Battlehide goatskin backhand Kangaroo palm Pittards Keratan abrasion zones Injected thermoplastic knuckle Precurved fingers Aramid stitching
Had these gloves for goin on 5 months now. I've used them in Connecticut and in northern Florida now. Airflow is decent, but not as much as icon advertises. After a few hours in 90 degree weather, you find yourself pulling over to dry out your gloves lol.
Love the feel you get from these gloves though, almost like not wearing any at all! Can really feel your controls, and get good feedback.
Sizing is large, but like everyone has stated, the cuff is small, so if you have big hands you'll take a little while to get these on, but once you do, they're spacious.
Can't comment on safety/durability due to having not been down while wearing them, but so far they're holding up to every day wear and tear.
I've put about... 5000 miles on my bike while using these gloves, no seams coming apart, no wear and tear, honestly look new unless you look at the palms to see the wear from the bars.
Overall great gloves! Just needs more air!!!
*Rode an 08' R1 the entire time while using this product. Excellent feedback from the throttle, great reach for clutch/braking, no issues at all*
Alpinestars Supertech-R Vented Boots Alpinestars Supertech R boot is the newest high performance/racing boot, constructed with hi-tech micro-fiber and designed to meet light weight and performance requirements in top level racing. The front flex area is constructed with a soft TPU mesh with shaped reliefs for abrasion resistance and natural forward and back movements. Flexible accordion synthetic leather at Achilles allows natural movement. Top gaiter follows leg contour and is made of flexible high-grade synthetic leather reinforced with rubber for maintaining shape. Full length micro-fiber panel on inner side of the boot provides a smooth surface for excellent grip and feel against the bike and protects from abrasion and heat. A lightweight rubber compound sole offers excellent grip and feel and allows for natural flex as the rider changes position and pressure on the foot-peg. Strategically positioned ventilation in heel and shin TPU, and soft TPU mesh on forefoot guides air through the boot. The separate inner boot works with outer boot to form a protective system and external TPU shin protection wraps around to outer calf and is engineered to spread and dissipate impact energy across the entire surface while remaining compact. Clip-on toe-slider provides excellent feedback and protects the outer toe box structure from abrasion. (Upgradeable to a magnesium slider). Replaceable TPU heel plate slider protects from impact and reduces friction in the event of an off. Outside entry/exit has stretch accordion panel for a close fit and ease of entrance and removal. Bio-mechanical ankle bracing boot has double hinged inner and outer torsion bars to progressively absorb flex and rotation stress on the ankle and reduce pressure and hyper extension injury to lower leg joints. Inner ankle brace constructed with fiberglass charged polyamide and ergonomically designed closed cell padding for protection and comfort. Features Extremely protective, flexible and comfortable with excellent aerodynamics Vented sections promote airflow into the boot Flexible, lightweight toe shifter allows feel for changing gears Zip mounted on accordion stretch panel gives easy closure with excellent fit Velcro tab lock the zip pull closed, keeping it flat and secure Micro adjustable ratchet top closure stows tab end inside calf TPU Polyamide compound moldings around foot bed provide impact protection Removable anatomic footbed is sculpted for precision fit SUPERTECH R is CE certified
I've had these babies for a few months now, and my biggest complain is the toe sliders come off waaaay to easily. Not a big on the track, but I wear these boots EVERYWHERE so stopping to get gas, stepping off the curb, they'll pop off. I've lost one already lol. Wish they could be attached with screws instead of snapping on to the boot.
Other than that, great boot overall, super comfortable. Airflow is average, you really have to be cookin to get maximum airflow.
Boot fit is a little narrow, as most race boots are, keep that in mind, I ordered 2 sizes down *9.5 vs 11.5* from my normal shoe size, nice and snug, can ride for hours just fine.
*Rode solely on my 2008 R1 while using these boots, no problem with shifts, braking, or positioning in turns*
Yes, I recommend this product.

I can personally vouch for this boot in a pretty bad crash. A buddy of mine decided to lose control of a cat walk, and ended up flipping his bike end over end, resulting in his bike slamming into the front of mine, immediately sending me over the handlebars and my bike (08 R1) directly on top of me, and both of us sliding off into the ditch *me and the bike*. Thankfully I had these boots on at the time, because the swing arm of the bike had come down on my right foot completely crushing one of the buckles, but doing no damage at all to my foot. The boot was a total loss, but my foot didn't even have bruising! The rest of my right leg was a totally different story... Anyways, yes the boots are kind of a pain to break in, the zipper can be a little weak, but if you keep the straps buckled properly, these babies can save your little piggies!
