 Spidi Carbosix Gloves
Spidi Carbosix Gloves
Spidi Carbosix Gloves Racing glove, designed in collaboration with Spidi riders in MotoGP. Features the widest protection, thanks to the innovative usage of fabrics like Carbon (on the knuckles, back, ulna head, fingers and wrist), steel net areas (on the little finger and palm) that increase the resistance to the abrasion from 2000 to 5000 cycles Further advantage has been created from the capacity of these protections to slide during the crash. A Keramide layer is all over the back and partially on the palm. Shock absorber fabrics like Supratech are placed under every rigid protection The extreme comfort and the easiness of the movement are guaranteed by two leather articulations on the fingers, on the outside of the cuff and on the back. The fixing systems with belt loops and Velcro flap give a perfect fitting. Microfiber zones guarantee the grip on the palm. The outside is constructed of aniline tanned cowhide There are over 160 pieces put together to create the perfect racing glove, including 70 different leather and 20 different carbon pieces

These are great spring/summer gloves with excellent protection. There are carbon fiber sliders and protectors everywhere. I especially appreciate the reinforced stitching and multiple layers in the palms. The fingers have built in flexibility and these gloves were immediately comfortable the first time I put them on. These are very well made gloves and they look fantastic as well. To be honest they cost more than I thought I would ever spend on motorcycle gloves but once I started using them, I am happy to report they are worth every penny.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I am very happy with these boots. The quality of the materials is top level and the look is fantastic. I wear size 14 E shoes normally so I had to go with the Euro size 50 as I knew Euro fit would be a bit smaller than what I was used to. They fit me but there is no extra room so it's a close fit. Sidi does make a MEGA boot that is wide but NOT in Euro 50 so this was my only real option. The protection is good and the boots are comfortable to walk in due to the built in flexibiliy. The Soles have excellent feel and are holding up well. For a few track days and street riding they are great. If you're buying them only for track you might want to go with the ST for more protection but for the cost and comfort these are unbeatable. Average airflow because these are not the cobra air!

how do these compare with the old SMX-R?

i was hoping to get some replacement SMX-R's, how do these compare? or do i need to look at other brands for a replacement?
Get the 2011 SMX-Plus. If you like the SMX-R you are looking for a track-day/racing boot. If the SMX-Plus is good enough for Noriyuki Haga to race in, you'll be happy.

what boot do you think I should get?

I cant decide whether to buy the Alpinestar SMX-5 or the SIDI Cobra, looking for comfort when walking and protection- thx
I would definitely purchase the SIDI Cobra. It has better protection than the SMX-5 and is very easy to walk in. This is the summer boot I own and wear all the time.

Which boot part II?

Ok, thank for the feedback, you have talked me into spending more money, but I think it will be money well spent. I have narrowed it down to these 3 - please let me know what you would buy.
1. Dainese TRQ race out- they dont look like they have that much protection, but look comfy?
2. Sidi Vertigo-
3. Alpinestar - SMX- R

I know if I spend much more, I will get into staight track boots. I want to be able to ride to mall, or wherever and walk aroung for a couple of hours in comfort, but I aslo drive agressive sometimes and value the protection. So are input means a lot to me, so if none of these 300$ boots fits my standart, can you throw me a bone. Thank you for your time. DDD
If these three were my options I would choose the Dainese TRQ race out. This boot is top quality construction and has excellent protection. It looks very comfortable and I have two friends that swear by Dainese equipment so if they came in my size this would be my choice. I like the Sidi Vertigo boot but it is a little bit more track day in appearance and not as flexible as the TRQ. The Alpinestar SMX-R is actually a fantastic boot but I think if I were going to choose an A-star boot I would have to spend the additional 50 bucks for the 2011 SMX-Plus. To be honest any of these are just really, really good so I can't see a bad choice.
