REVIT Sand 2 Jacket Those looking for a jacket to wear on an around-the-world trip need look no further than the REVIT Sand 2. The already popular Sand jacket has been improved with a bevy of innovative new features. The jacket features adjustable VCS zippers that increase ventilation by 200 percent over the originalplus, it has a wind-catcher feature integrated into the zipper for even greater airflow. The jacket is compatible with both Leatt and MOVEO neck brace systems, the latter of which conveniently stays attached when taking the jacket on and off. The Sand 2 also comes with a connection zipper. This makes it easy to connect the jacket with compatible REVIT! trousers and eliminates any gap that would allow water to creep in. With the inner membrane removed, the outer shell can be upgraded with a Challenger cooling vest insert. The Sand 2 comes with CE shoulder and elbow protection and integrated reflective panels for nighttime visibility. OK, to soon to talk about durability but there are some bullet points that are immediately apparent. A lot of adjustability in the fit; at 5'-11" and 205lbs the XL with both liners in and adjustment straps mostly extended fits me perfect. With both liners out there is more than enough adustability to maintain the perfect fit. No worries about airflow; without the liners I opened the back zipper vents and played with the arm and chest zips. I was pleased to find I could adjust the front zips easily with gloves on while underway. Closing the chest and arm zips stopped the airflow completely even with the back left open, no need to stop and remove the jacket to get to the back zips. I have a hard time paying the premium for Gortex just to get breatabilty, with all the ventilation and easy control I satisfied my number one concern. I'm still futzin with the features but it seems they tick all the boxes. I don't wear a neck brace but think the plastic loops on the front chest may come in handy for attaching my camera.
For me the only knock at this point may be the length. I'm accustomed to wearing 3/4 length jackets and the different style of this one just looks an inch or so shorter than I'm accustomed to.
