These are good hot weather socks. They are thin, so if you normally where thick socks then you are going to need to do some adjusting. Great ventilation throughout, particularly in the upper leg and top of the foot. I like the additional padding over the top of the foot where your buckle will pull your heel into the heal counter. Why no "5"? No reason really other than when it is all said and done, they are still just socks...pretty expensive socks. If they go on sale, I will buy another set or two. The ventilate, they wick, the don't seem to hold "stink" through washings like many other tech-fibers.

I own several different pairs of boots, all for different types of riding on one of 3 different bikes. This is the most versatile of all. From HD cruiser, to GS1200 or my CFR450X, after a bad wreck in 2010 that damaged my foot and ankle, I wear good boots. That said, this is my most expensive pair by far. Not coincidentally, it is also the best pair. I am a 10-10.5 running shoe with a normal forefoot and slightly narrow heel, medium to high arches. The 44 fit me perfectly. The footbed has decent shape and the buckles at the bridge of my foot have enough adjustment to accommodate my arch height. There are no rough edges around the boot top (my socks always creep down), so nothing chafes or rubs. The construction is top notch and rugged, but even with that and the technical protection it has, this is a beautiful looking boot. There is good rigidity of the upper so as to feel enveloping and protective, but enough flexion to keep it comfy for all-day rides with rest stops that include walking in the boot a bit. The sole has a bit more rigidity than a medium weight hiker. This is the perfect match for my Klim Latitude gear and my GS, but I have also used it for light enduro on the 450. Heck, I might even wear them under my riding jeans with the HD. These boots are awesome!

I like this helmet, but it if you think that you are going to get totally away from "mushroom head" with any DOT approved half-helmet, you should manage your expectation. Not quite "Kazoo" from the flinstones, but not small either. You will likely want a bike with a windscreen if you use this helmet, as the bill on the front comes off, but is not meant to remain off. I found the size to be true, but a bit more oval than I expected. This is no problem with the "speed dial" adjustment in the back which takes up any play...think construction worker helmet..people will either love it or hate it, but for me it works. The drop down sun visor is spring loaded, so make sure that it doesn't hit your nose coming down or it is going to hurt. It is fairly easily actuated with one hand, but a bit stiff at first. It is a grey lens that is about right for most lighting situations where you want a bit of shade for your eyes. It also seems to provide some protection from bug impact, but I think I will stick to impact approved eyewear under it. Overall finish seems nice on my gloss black, although the double d rings for the chin strap are a bit cheap feeling. The included ear flap zips on and off easily and the pockets housed speakers perfectly. Overall I am happy with this helmet

I bought these for my girlfriend who rides on the back and was resistant to wearing gloves. They were a little big for her, but that may be my fault. This is a solid glove with good styling and clean lines. For someone who wants a basic level of protection and cool hands in the hot/sticky..this is a great choice.

I really like this helmet. The SyMax2 undoubtedly saved my life in a 40mph oblique crash into a Philippine Jeepney (think Franken-bus). This helmet has great airflow; the drop down sunscreen comes down far enough and is adequately tinted without being TOO dark; the chin bar is easy to use and WILL stay in place in a crash (see above), the chin strap is simple, effective, and comfy; wide vision, low noise. What more can I say, I own a Schuberth C3 and an AGV-DS, and I like and trust this helmet just as much as the first and more than the second.

Bottom line, function over form. No bells and whistles, but dry hands. Yes, they are rubber gloves, and those of your from the military may kick yourself for not having thought and marketing the idea of your MOPP (chemical protective) gloves as moto gloves! These are not going to win any beauty awards, but they WILL fit over your expensive riding gloves and keep them and your hands dry. High enough to gauntlet your rain suit sleeves, and even a bit of textured area on the fingertips and palm (More like dishwashing gloves than your old MOPP suit paws). Best of all they come in the full color spectrum...at once that is, ie BLACK! (somebody get me a 6th grader, that's correct right? Black is the entire color spectrum absorbed?). Easily packed for unexpected downpours, and absolutely waterproof enough for the all day drizzle-fest. Protection comes from your gloves underneith, so don't buy these expecting kevlar knuckles etc. I recommend these

I have worn these gloves to death for the last year for adventure/sport touring in a tropical climate. The fit is spot on and comfortable, and the protection is adequate. Very good feel and no hard plastic to cut into your knuckles. The flip side is that protection is on the lighter side. I will warn you that when it rains your hands will get dyed black. Period. No, they are not meant to be waterproof, but I could do without walking around for the three days following a wet ride with dirty looking dyed hands. If you can deal with that, and you want a hot weather glove with moderate protection that is comfy, this is your glove.

I bought this for my wife to encourage her to ride despite the hot weather. She has been extremely happy with it right out of the box. Her comments: "great style and cute! looks good with riding jeans or other textile pants. Doesn't ride up but also doesnt' puddle around my legs when seated". My comments: Good use of zippers and velcro stays; lots of mesh front but also good coverage for the high risk areas such as elbows, back, shoulders. Side pulls (cordage) allows good adjustability. She is 5-6, 115 lbs and the medium is a good fit and leaves a bit of room in the body for her to wear something underneath to increase the temperature range.

Yes. My helmet came with a clear visor, and I ordered a smoked (grey) visor for $69.

Are tools needed to change the visor?

Either way how hard is it to change between tinted and clear visors?
The visor is removed via screws that have cross-hatch style grooves in the heads that will accept a coin as the "screw dirver" for removal. It isn't as simple as some of the systems out there, but it is pretty easy and not really a hassle. Also, you can remove the visor (face shield) without removing the peak (aka sun visor).

AGV AX-8 DS Helmet

I own a MX style helmet for riding my ATV, but unfortunately I have to wear glasses under my goggles, which I'm sure you can see the hassle in that. I have to put the helmet on, put on my glasses, then put on my goggles. I was wondering if the AGV AX-8 DS will solve my problems??? Will this helmet keep the dust out when I'm riding my ATV so I don't have to wear goggles anymore or will the dust build up on the inner part of the visor?
After riding dusty roads with this helmet, I will say that the visor does keep dust from being driven into your eyes at speed. However, although the visor seals well to the helmet, and there is a chin skirt, there is still airflow under the chin bar and around the neck. If you are riding in very dusty conditions, I would assume that along with air circulation, there will also be dust. Also, you are going to want to vent the helmet, that venting will also allow dust in to your eyes if you are not wearing goggles. I would say you spring for a set of nice goggles that accept prescription inserts.

No mention of noise levels, How does it compair to the Schubirth C3??

I have both a Schuberth C3 and a Symax II (not a 3), and while there is much ado about the quietness of the C3, I find that once the vents are open, it is all academic. While the C3 is slightly quieter than the Symax, neither is quiet enough (in my opinion) for extended rides without hearing protection. I found the Symax to be a very good helmet. Why did I replace it, you ask? Because it impacted the side of a utility truck in a glancing blow at 40mph then the pavement with my grape still inside. Dislocated hip, smashed clavicle, crushed bones in my foot and ankle. Zero head injury, no loss of consciousness, no failure of the locking mechanism of the chin-bar. Great helmet, and I will own one again.

Icon PDX Waterproof Gloves If you were to make the riding season in Portland into a pie chart it would look something like a pizza with one small slice missing. The small slice is the time when it's not raining. The rest of the year is well, pretty much wet. Like the rest of our PDX line, the PDX waterproof gloves were made for the rain. Our biggest challenge was to make them waterproof without compromising dexterity and feel. Embossed neoprene flex panels in critical areas provide plenty of flex and pre-curved palm and fingers ensure great feel from your controls. The waterproof textile chassis with over-the-cuff gauntlets keep the moisture out. Protection comes by the way of abrasion-resistant palms and heavy duty construction. Waterproof textile chassis Abrasion resistant palm Embossed neoprene flex panels in critical areas Pre-curved palm and finger design Hook and loop closure system Over the cuff gauntlet Elastic at the cuff

How's the liner in this gloves? Do you think it will suit for @ 30 miles commuting in cold weather/rain?

Allways stuck in traffic...do you think it will hold in the rain for @ 1 hour?
Read my review (multimotors). My hands were soaked in 10 minutes of riding in light rain. Then to make matters worse, the inner liner fits loosely in the glove, so one I pull my hand OUT wet, I couldn't get the liner to line up well with the shell to put my hand BACK IN and complete my ride. Wait this one out, ICON is going to have to change these things because the do NOT keep your hands dry.

Sidi Adventure Rain vs Adventure Gote-Tex - What's the difference?

More importantly, what justifies the $250 difference in price?
The Sidi Adventure Gore-Tex boots are identical to the Sidi Adventure Rain boots with the exception that the waterproof membrane is made by Gore as opposed to another lesser priced (presumably inferior, but I doubt it) brand. PERSONALLY, I find that Gore-tex on a textile jacket or pants is value-added, but Gore on the inside of an all-leather or a leather and plastic boot just adds cost without benefit (Sorry Anthony, I know you are a Gore disciple)

Euro size or American size?

I wear Alpinestars for road racing and use a size 44, should I be choosing a 10 or 11 from the sizing chart? I typically wear a size 10.5 shoe.
I have Alpinestar (for Triumph) Goretex touring boots, they read size EUR 44, and 9.5 US on the tag. I typically wear a size 10.5 running shoe and these boots fit like gloves. I also have the Alpinestar Scout WP's. They say Size 10 US and 44.5 EUR. These fit a little large, which is what I intended as I wear them with heavy socks and a winter footbed (insole) Based upon what you wrote, I would go with no larger than 10 from the size chart.

Will I sweat wearing the jacket over my leather jacket so that it may damage the leather jacket?

My leather jacket is not waterproof and I want to buy this Icon PDX in case of unexpected rain. I am just concerned my 500$ leather jacket will become to humid.
Allow me to congratulate you on your fantastic website and great video demo's! You are clearly setting the standard for webshops!
This is a great jacket, but like all riding rain gear, some water will eventually get in at the cuffs and collar if it rains hard enough or if you ride long enough. Also, it is a non-breathable material, so if you are riding in hot weather, or are working up a lather jamming in the twisties, you will perspire in this jacket. I find that I can momentarily roll my shoulders occasionally to get a cool air "flush" without letting in rain in. Also, this jacket is NOT a super compact emergency shell type, so it probably isn't the best choice to stick away in your tail bag for the "just in case". That said, it DOES ride better than those lightweight super-packables
