I just bought these gloves a couple wks ago & it's spring, so I Cldnt say much on airflow, they seem to be good, but have a feeling they're going to be hot in summer. And as far as protection, I haven't had a wreck in these gloves nor do I want to, but I would feel confident if I did. They seem to offer more protection than my 1st pair of Shift short cuff. Very stylish, and more comfortable & flexible than what I'd expect from a brand new pair of gauntlet gloves. Holding up well, but for only 2 wks of use - they better. Overall, nice gloves I would recommend.

I bought the chaos shift gloves as a new rider on a budget, not trying to skimp on quality, nor spend a fortune. They're very stylish and not bulky like some. I ordered a lg, having small/ med sized hands and they fit slightly smaller than I'd like, but not too inconvienant to send back. Fits, ok, fingers are just a tad short. They're light, comfortable, offer some decent protection, but doesn't offer the protection of leather or gauntlet gloves. Considering this is my first pair, I'm happy with the product, even though I haven't went down in them.

Should I size up or down with this product?
My hand measures right in between medium and large sizes at 9.5 inches.
I would def recommend going with at least a large. I ordered a large which should of fit well or even a little big and they fit nice except the fingers are short. My fingers, not being extra long, go to the end of the gloves, having a snug, but not too tight of a fit. Hope that helps some.
