I have always had riding pants, but they are heavy duty. I have been toying around with the Kevlar pants for a few years now; something light for summer. I don’t know how they will work, but I do know from experience that jeans disintegrate on pavement in a matter of seconds, and your underwear along with them.
I saw the special on the AVG Kevlar cargo’s and decided to give them a try. I have ordered a few other brands online and the fit or style was just horrible so I returned them. I wasn’t really expecting much better with these but I was wrong.
To my surprise the style and fit was good. These actually look decent. I don’t mind wearing them off the bike. As I was informed from previous comments, they run a tad small and they are cotton. Best to maybe order a size larger. Don’t forget to get a longer inseam if you plan riding with them. I usually get a 32, so I bought the 34 inseam and it’s perfect. I will be keeping these and hopefully I won’t have to test them out.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Well, what can I say…. In my case I needed something for work and something I could ditch in less than a minute when I want it gone. This looked like the ticket and so far it’s working for me. I have a Gen2 VMAV and saddlebags just get melted by the exhaust, tank bags don’t seem to fit the VMAX very well and I don’t like them. Welcome to the tail bag!!!
First, what can I put in there…? It’s not just about what you can put in there; it’s about what you can put on top too. First let’s talk about the inside. I have the smaller model and it’s not a lot of space. I tried putting a full size adventure jacket in there and no way that was going to happen, but lots of stuff can be crammed in moderation. For me the main compartment which opens from the rear is where most your stuff will go. So far I have put a clear visor in there, my leather jacket liner, my leather jackets removable sleeve panels, a rain jacket, 2 bungee nets, gloves, and I could still jam in some other small items if I wanted to. In the right and left sleeve pockets, I keep some sun glasses and a 5ft wire lock. I have not used the storage on the very top, but could get small items like gloves or balaclava in there. So, not much more space than a massive tank-bag, but you have the whole top end to strap things on, and in my case, it’s my jacket on hot days, or my helmet under a net. The nice things are that you have all these lower rings and upper rings to net, strap or bungee stuff however you wish. The bag comes with 4 of its own Saddlemen straps which I have not used yet. The lower rings tuck in when you are not using them, and so far tucked or not, they have not scratched the bike. I have been 100+mph with no issues; just be smart how you strap everything. Oh, the little horizontal pouch in the photo is the rain fly. I have not used this yet; but it makes a nice backrest.
Installation… Unfortunate for me, I have to remove my seat (socket wrench needed), but others who have tried my bag (late model GSXR and R1), had no issues – went right on. I think the bag is more stable with cruisers, but it fits the superbikes great so long as you reinforce it with some additional straps or bungees when loaded heavy.
Here is how it works. You have a small Velcro pad that straps around your seat. Once installed, the pad on your seat attaches to the bag via Velcro and 3 pull-&-latch straps. Because of this, the bag can be removed in less than a minute, probably about 20 seconds actually.
It looks good too… I think so! All in all I can’t complain, I’m happy with my purchase.
NOTE: for comparison, the VMAX has a very small pillion. Many bikes can use the larger tail pack. Keep that in mind.
Originally I saw this on a Vrod, looks awesome and fits well on those too.
Yes, I recommend this product.

First I have to say, I bought this on a closeout so I base my value on the price as well. Even at full price it's a four star jacket. My only complaints are size, which I didn't have much choice on the closeout, but even though it's a bit large on the sleeves, the chest area is a bit tight on the top. As will most jackets when I take out the liner, the elbow armor rolls a bit on my arm because it's a bit loose.
This was a size 48 and I'm 5'11, 200lbs. I might have been able to get a better fit on the 46, but then the chest might be too tight. Then again, with the back armor out, maybe perfect. Hard to say when you're buying online and can't try them on the spot.
Often I buy jackets for particular bikes, and this one is for my new Vmax. I decided to buy something more practical for commuting and general use but still have some protection in case of a crash or from the elements. The material and design of this brand is superb, it's an A+ construction. I will be looking at other jackets from this brand too. Is it Warm? Well, its winter here so I'm not riding, but I had a chance to use it on a sled.
It's warm enough for winter use, so I have no worries about early spring and fall in northern Illinois.
All in all I'm happy with this jacket and this is someone who owns about 7 other motorcycle jackets. I don't think its a good summer jacket. Good venting, but its heavy and bulky. For summer I will stick with my SPIDI multi-tech and SPIDI Rain cover.
You can buy that here too!
Yes, I recommend this product.
