 Alpinestars Logic Denim Kevlar Jeans
Alpinestars Logic Denim Kevlar Jeans
Alpinestars Logic Denim Kevlar Jeans The classic style of the Logic Kevlar Denim Pants offers exceptional comfort both on and off the bike and incorporates internal Kevlar reinforcements for enhanced abrasion protection in key impact areas. Developed to offer substantial protection over traditional denim jeans, these pants are constructed of comfortable abrasion and tear resistant cotton denim with strong main seam construction and internal Kevlar reinforcements in the knees and seat. Traditional 5 pocket design with two rear pockets, two hand pockets and a front coin pocket. Slightly articulated knee for superior fit in the riding position Please Note The waist of the Logic Denim Pants runs small, we recommend ordering a size up from your normal pant size.

I thought these jeans would be great and offer some protection going at commuting speeds. I just got out of the ER from a 20-30mph low-side. It instantly ripped through the kevlar reinforced knee and into my knee down to the patella. I had to get a whole bunch of stitches and I patiently await my hospital bill.
Alpinestars makes some great leather pants that I actually own and should have been wearing instead of trusting my skin to kevlar reinforced denim. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on the leather pants (you will save both money and your health in the case of an accident).
If you absolutely must get these jeans go with sizing from an actual soft tape measure and not your jeans size... American jean sizes have not truly been in inches for a few years now, to make you feel better about yourself. For example, I wear a size 32 jeans (my waist [not hips] measures a little over 34 in) sure enough size 34 fits snugly, but it fits... err I guess did fit (ruined now as is my knee).
No, I do not recommend this product.

Alpinestars Supertech-R Boots The Alpinestars Supertech R boot is the newest high performance/racing boot, constructed with hi-tech micro-fiber and designed to meet light weight and performance requirements in top level racing. The front flex area is constructed with a soft TPU mesh with shaped reliefs for abrasion resistance and natural forward and back movements. Flexible accordion synthetic leather at Achilles allows natural movement. Top gaiter follows leg contour and is made of flexible high-grade synthetic leather reinforced with rubber for maintaining shape. Full length micro-fiber panel on inner side of the boot provides a smooth surface for excellent grip and feel against the bike and protects from abrasion and heat. A lightweight rubber compound sole offers excellent grip and feel and allows for natural flex as the rider changes position and pressure on the foot-peg. Strategically positioned ventilation in heel and shin TPU, and soft TPU mesh on forefoot guides air through the boot. The separate inner boot works with outer boot to form a protective system and external TPU shin protection wraps around to outer calf and is engineered to spread and dissipate impact energy across the entire surface while remaining compact. Clip-on toe-slider provides excellent feedback and protects the outer toe box structure from abrasion. (Upgradeable to a magnesium slider). Replaceable TPU heel plate slider protects from impact and reduces friction in the event of an off. Outside entry/exit has stretch accordion panel for a close fit and ease of entrance and removal. Bio-mechanical ankle bracing boot has double hinged inner and outer torsion bars to progressively absorb flex and rotation stress on the ankle and reduce pressure and hyper extension injury to lower leg joints. Inner ankle brace constructed with fiberglass charged polyamide and ergonomically designed closed cell padding for protection and comfort. Features Extremely protective, flexible and comfortable with excellent aerodynamics Flexible, lightweight toe shifter allows feel for changing gears Zip mounted on accordion stretch panel gives easy closure with excellent fit Velcro tab lock the zip pull closed, keeping it flat and secure Micro adjustable ratchet top closure stows tab end inside calf TPU Polyamide compound moldings around foot bed provide impact protection Removable anatomic footbed is sculpted for precision fit SUPERTECH R is CE certified

I just received these boots via UPS 5 minutes ago, one boot is already broken. Unfortunately the ratchet strap is made of tpu plastic which is flexible and embedded inside the plastic is a nut so that you can screw it on the boot. The nut is not glued and since the plastic is flexible it promptly came off with almost no resistance (I wasn't pulling on it). If someone reads this and talks to an Alpinestars rep please alert them to the flawed design. Another thing is on the new inner bootie someone missed a hole that the lace should be in... (coincidentally it's on the same boot that the ratchet strap broke). This is clearly an Alpinestars quality assurance issue.
I waited on preorder for these, spent a lot of money, and I don't feel like I should have to repair them the second I get them.
Other than the design flaw (repaired by a strong glue) I actually think these are great fitting boots and from what I hear offer a lot of protection when it counts.
I don't want to go through the hassle of sending a single flawed boot back, so I'm off to find some epoxy.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought these a few weeks ago and within two days of use the titanium part started popping off the carbon fiber while I was holding the glove in my hand
Overall, I really like these gloves (with the exception of the titanium's ability to unglue itself). I think if the titanium bit was much larger and sewn into the glove in addition to the glue then this wouldn't be an issue. If one gives it any thought at all, one realizes that the glove flexes while the titanium does not. Eventually this will lead to it coming off, it's only a matter of time (in my case two days).
For $350 I have to admit I am pretty disappointed. Held does have a warranty, but it takes 8 weeks to get them repaired. Maybe I will do that in the dead of winter.
In retrospect, I probably should have bought the Phantoms, there is less to go wrong. I hope Held changes the design in the upcoming years to allow for lateral glove flex.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I just got the boots today and I got a great deal using my Revzilla Cash, the boots are comfortable and they fit well so I can't complain about that.
However, the build quality is not excellent, I received these brand new (less than 10 minutes ago at that) and the leather is a little scuffed on the outside of the left foot and there appears to be dried glue outside the seams of both boots. There is also white crystal crusty stuff (probably also glue) coming from front where the laces are.
I bought these as a temporary measure to wait for a pre-order of a pair of better boots, but these will make a decent spare. Besides the glue, I think they'll do.
Yes, I recommend this product.
