Easy on, easy off. The problem, if there is one, is that a person unfamiliar with the mechanics of the face shield (like your rider) may rip it off of the helmet without much problem. That's why I needed a new one. With shipping, the shield was $42, and that seems like too much when the helmet new cost under $200. Other than that, no problems.

 Bell Revolver Helmet - Solid
Bell Revolver Helmet - Solid
Bell Revolver Helmet - Solid Convenience meets confidence with Bells all-new Revolver modular helmet. By harnessing the design horsepower of the marquee Bell Star and the extensive RD know-how of Bells Santa Cruz, Calif. engineering team, weve made a flip-up thats as beautiful as it is functional. One look and its easy to see the family resemblancethe new school shaping and contours that are the signature of the Star (as well as the value-minded Vortex and new mid-line RS-1) are clearly evident and functional in the Revolver. Like its siblings, the Revolver features Bells Velocity Flow Ventilation system to usher cooling air through the helmet. The systems use of precisely-placed flow separator combined with its truncated shape make for an inherently stable aerodynamic signature. The Revolver includes modular-specific features like the integrated internal Sun Shadea short, dark shield independent of the main shieldwhich drops down with the flick of a lever to fight bright sunlight. A robust, easy-to-actuate button opens the Revolvers mechanism allowing the chinbar to flip up. The helmet also uses the worlds quickest, easiest-to-use shield changing systemBells ClickReleaseallowing the option of more than a dozen tints, including the astounding Transitions SOLFX photochromic shield. Other features include comfy Contour Cut Cheekpads, a removable washable comfort liner, Bells Magnefusion strap keeper which replaces the often hard-to-locate strap snap with an elegant magnetic solution that easily engages and secures the strap end. Features Industrys 1st Modular Helmet With Function and Performance All in One Internal Sun Shade for On the Fly Protection Velocity Flow Ventilation Super Stable Aerodynamic Signature Click Release Shield Mechanism Nutra Fog II Anti Fog Coating Lightweight Polycarb Alloy Shell Contour Cut Cheekpads Removable/Washable Comfort Liner Antibacterial Liner Magnafusion Strap Keeper Five-year Warranty Comes with clear faceshield

This is my first modular helmet so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I really like this helmet. Revzilla promoted this helmet for forward leaning, aggressive, riding, but I ride a cruiser, and I think the styling fine for me. The hinges have an authoritative "snap!", and the release button can be worked wearing thick gloves with no problem. The sun visor mechanics work really well, and it drops way down for maximum protection. This is a fantastic feature if you wear glasses, like I do, because you won't need to switch glasses when the sun comes, or you're riding through a tunnel. My only complaint is the feel on the inside due to the cut outs for ear pieces. It sounds like a great idea, but takes some getting used to. After a couple of long rides I ceased to notice.
Yes, I recommend this product.
