I've only had this helmet for about 2 weeks now but I ride everyday, and overall the helmet is great.
There is a lot more wind noise than I had expected, it seems that it's coming from the neck roll that protrudes from under the helmet but I'm not 100% certain. Although, I guess wind noise is relative and someone else may not notice it as much.
Also, all of the XR1R helmets come with the 'fast shot' quick release shield now which I'm sure will make a lot of people happy. And as far as I know, they are all pinlock ready.
The helmet is super light and comfortable and breathes pretty well. The shield alone is not fog free so the pinlock is a must.

Yes, I recommend this product.

horizontal viewing area

I'm interested in this helmet specifically for the race track. I'm currently riding in a Shoei X-11 which is a great helmet but severely limits my vision in the tuck position. How does the viewable area on the XR1R compare to the X-11?
Although I haven't taken this helmet to the track I would say this helmet's field of vision is ridiculous! It's almost like you don't have a helmet on. In full tuck I've noticed no helmet obscurities looking forward, the only thing that blocks any vision is the breath guard, which is removable.

Optimal riding position?

What riding position is this helmet designed for?
Just based on the past couple of weeks of me trying different positions, Ducati S2R 800, I'd say it's meant for 3/4 to full tuck. Leaning more towards full tuck.
