This is my first jacket, so hard to compare to others, but I did go through trying on several before settling on this -- and I am very satisfied with the choice for what it is: a low-cost, lightweight, warm weather jacket. Enough airflow to be comfortable on warm and humid South Texas mornings with a t-shirt underneath. The large fits me well through the chest, shoulders, and sleeves (6'1", 190 lbs); wish I could cinch the waist a bit tighter: only so much you can do with the velcro straps (and they do seem a bit flimsy). Armor seems less substantial than some others I tried, but it sits where it should and is almost unnoticeable. To me, the style is a nice compromise between cruiser and sport.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Experience with the River Road "Cool Leather" jackets?

I'm intrigued by the concept, but there are no user reviews, or full review by your staff... any comments on these jackets from anyone? I live in Houston, and it's plenty hot here half the year, but I still want the protection of leather (at a reasonable price) - so would appreciate any guidance on performance, fit, etc. Thanks

Size and fit questions?

Looking at the charts, I guess I'm either a "large Medium" or a "small Large" -- what do you recommend in terms of size selection? Also, I notice there are no straps or snaps to adjust the snugness of the arms; I have average to thin arms for my size, so wonder if there'd be trouble keeping the armor in the right place? Same questions apply to all Firstgear jackets, I guess...

Question about correct size in Joe Rocket?

I seem to be between sizes: 42 chest; 34-35 waist; 34 sleeve (6'1", 190). Tried a large in a different Joe Rocket Model and seemed too big through the chest/shoulders (shoulder armor easy to move around)... but I'm afraid the medium sleeves would be too short... or that the jacket might be too small to layer under in colder weather. Any help?
