Bridgestone Battlax BT-023 Sport Touring Rear Tire Full spec sport touring radial offering consistent performance between touring and sport riding New tread pattern and rubber compound deliver long mileage, high level of wet performance, comfortable ride and good grip 3LC (dual compound) technology for rear tire provides good stability and wear life in center and strong grip and bump absorption in shoulder of tire Silica plus RC polymer (assists silica effect and controls rubber properties) enhances wet wear life
Have installed a set of these tires last year and put a few thousand miles on them commuting and longer distance riding, they have plenty of grip, excellent cornering feel. I put the GT version on my Ducati ST, they are very stable at speed and on rough roads. Only complaint is the rear can lock up with hard braking if it is not warmed up, but the harder center rear compound is probably good for tread life as I see no sign of wear. Huge improvement over original BT020 in wear and handling.
Bridgestone Battlax BT-023-GT Sport Touring Rear Tire Full spec sport touring radial offering consistent performance between touring and sport riding New rubber compound delivers long mileage, high level of wet performance, comfortable ride and good grip Silica plus RC polymer (assists silica effect and controls rubber properties) enhances wet wear life GT spec has heavy duty casing and a revised tread pattern
I replaced the original BT020s on my Ducati with the BT023(GT)s. The price for both was less than $250, and the traction and handling are definitely better than the worn tires they replaced! Cornering is great, these seem to allow for a greater lean angle. Braking in the wet also seemed superior. I'm hoping the tread life, especially on the rear could be better due to the dual compound. BT020 front lasted 10k miles, rear only 5k on this bike, only have a few hundred on now on the BT023s so unable to comment on tread life yet.
