Shoei GT-Air Revive Helmet Enjoying the ride is what motorcycling is all about and having a helmet that is comfortable and safe is just facilitates that enjoyment. The Shoei GT-Air has been designed from the ground up to be the ultimate all-rounder. With a fully adjustable ventilation system, drop-down internal sun visor, fog-free Pinlock CNS-1 face shield and Shoeis legendary comfort and quality, the GT-Air has all of the features you need to keep your focus on the road instead of on the discomforts a lesser helmet can cause. The Shoei GT-Air was developed using wind-tunnel testing at Shoeis state-of-the-art facility in Japan which lead to an aerodynamically tuned tri-composite shell that mitigates buffeting, as well as wind and road noise. The plush removable liner is comfortable, quiet and removable when you need to wash it. Light, safe and comfortable, the Shoei GT-Air meets and exceeds the needs of contemporary riders, allowing them to enjoy what they love mostthe ride. Aerodynamic Shell Design: Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind tunnel testing and professional riders feedback Multi-Piece EPS liner enhances impact absorption and ventilation Three shell and four EPS liner sizes provide increased fit options that help to comfortably fit most head sizes Molded air spoiler reduces drag and lift, as well as diminishes pressure on the riders neck while riding at speed Sun Shield Visor System: Built-in QSV-1 sun shield gives riders instant relief from sun glare in one quick motion Visor meets ANSI Z80.3-2010 standard for non-prescription eyeglasses Large and easy to reach switch activates the 3D injection-molded inner sun shield Distortion-free shield blocks 99 of harmful UV rays Forehead area of the outer shell is raised slightly to accommodate the internal sun shield, allowing the integrity of the GT-Airs inner EPS liner to remain intact Ventilation System: Upper Air Intake Vent is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior Large upper intake vent positioned to maximize performance behind wind screens Easy to operate large lower intake vent Lower air intake/defroster vent reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation The rear/neck vents allow for effective air exhaust Breath guard and chin curtain included Advanced Integrated Matrix (AIM): High performance fiber materials are combined with elastic organic fibers to create a shell structure that is ultra-lightweight, rigid and resilient Interior System: 3-D Max-Dry center pad and multi-layered, polyurethane foam cheek pads Chin curtain prevents wind entry and reduces noise Cheek pads are replaceable or removable for maintenance Eyeglass compatible interior E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick-Release System) allows emergency medical personnel to easily remove the cheek pads from the helmet of a rider involved in an accident, in turn making the Shoei GT-Air more easily removable Standard Chin-Strap Clip: Neatly secures chin strap CNS-1 Shield System: The CNS-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces Includes Pinlock Anti-Fog Lens for more coverage of the CNS-1 shield Dual-Ridge window bead increases contact with the shield to reduce wind noise Scratch-resistant shield coating 99.9 protection from harmful UV A&B rays Safety Certification: DOT Note: Due to manufacturer restrictions, Shoei products can only be shipped to addresses within the United States.

I am wearing the Shoes GT-Air for 7 months now. I wore the Bell Star Carbon for almost 5 years previously. So my disappointment comes as a comparison between both helmets.
The Bell Star had the transition lens which becomes dark as the sun is out and clear during the night. The benefit of this transition lens is that it keeps the heat our of the helmet as well. The Shoei has an internal sun visor, which sounds great, but it feels as it is trapping the heat inside the helmet. It feels like the sun is hitting the sunvisor but there is nowhere the heat can go to, while the Bell Star Transition lens would keep the heat outside the visor.
The airflow might be good, but honestly it feels like it is flowing warm air and it is not so comfortable. I thought it was the weather but after 7 months riding I can tell that it is the helmet.
I ride behind a windshield (like most touring bikes) and temperatures around 70 to 90 F.
About the vent positions, Bell Star had eyebrow vents and the chin vent vents to the mouth and somewhat to the face, which is very comfortable during hot days. The Shoei vents to the top of the head and the chin vents vents to the shield.
I can't really get the pinlock shield to work properly. Every time I change conditions it fogs inside the pinlock and it is very hard to get it clear. Changing from highways to wood areas will always generate condensation, going from the hot sea area to the cold humid mountain also generates condensation. It is really horrible and I see myself riding with open shield and sun visor (to protect my eyes from debris) quite frequently.
Noise level is quite better than the Bell Star Carbon, the neck roll makes it very quiet while the bell star had much air coming from the neck. I use earplugs and I can hear traffic noise without problems but general noise is quite low.
The compatibility with the SENA 20S communicator is quite nice. The speaker pocket is a little small but the speaker does not move once installed. I use the Sena 20S spacer to keep the speaker barely touching my ears for better experience. I wish the Sena Speakers were louder, but this is for other review.
The inside liners are comfortable but the chin curtain should use a better touch material because the entrance and exit of the helmet is very tight the rough materials of the curtain scratches the face. My wife and I have this helmet and she feels the same way about this issue.

very good protection, adjustable knee armor.
compaints:
1 - when riding on my Multistrada, my knee bends and the pants are pulled up a little bit, I use a TCX Jupiter boot, but as it a short boot, water comes in from the top. I believe the pants should have some kind of elastic band to pull it down and cover the boot best.
2 - the air flow is not optimum for my riding position, the air flow is minimal behind the air cover in the multistrada. Maybe on another bike you can get more direct air flow.

Only thing that I do not like is that for my Bell Star Hess, the color does not match the original liner. This one is total black.

The helmet feels great on the head. Very comfortable, light and balanced. I ride a HD in upright position.
The stile is incredible, the design is beautiful but at close look has small flaws.
I am concerned about the seal around the visor. The seal does not touch the visor on the top, only on the bottom. I did not ride it in the rain yet to water prove it, but this is really a big concern I have.
In the photo attached I am pressing the left side of the visor against the gasket while the right side there is still about 1mm gap.
A friend has an Arai RX7 and it seems as when closed, the visor is pressed against the gasket making it a 100% seal.
Yes, I recommend this product.
