Compared to the Garmin 660/665 it is a large upgrade in software more so than hardware. The software on the 590 is a lot more like the software on the Garmin Zumo 3597LMT (car GPS). It looks almost identical but has more features.
Some cool features:
1. When in the car cradle switches to car mode and you can have seperate settings for routing options and such, motorcycle mode when in the motorcycle cradle. It also changes the keyboard layout for the mode you are in.
2. So far the bluetooth has worked flawlessly. The GPS can connect to anything that can link to a phone. I have the GPS connected to my car bluetooth and my phone to my GPS. That way all calls go through the GPS. I am still able to play music from my phone to my car.
3. Works with Sena 20S headset. If you want GPS directions while you are connected to another headset, you have to have it connected as GPS with HFP. That means no stereo music. You can connect the garmin to the 20S as a phone with multimedia and get stereo sound but when you are talking to another rider, the GPS will cut off the conversation to play directions. This is a limitation of the Sena 20S.
4. The traffic updates are excellent, even better than the FM receivers used by the 3597LMT.
5. The display is very good in daylight, better than the 660/665.
I haven't had any issues with the GPS but never really had issues with the 660/665. This is a rock solid GPS.

It is easy to install and the fit is very sturdy. It doesn't move at all when bolted in place. It looks great too. No more kickstand sinking in the mud problems for me.

This thing is a tank. Not only is it the best looking bash plate for the Tenere it is the best. I did a lot of research before i bought this bash plate. it has well thought out mounting points and a very heavy duty bracket that it attaches to underneath the bike. The OEM bash plate is a stinker, it bolts directly to the oil pan. Do a google search and you can find pictures of broken oil pans on teneres that have used the OEM bash plates.

AltRider Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z Crash Bars Now that youre the proud owner of a Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z, you want crash bars to protect it. AltRider's are built from one inch stainless steel so theyll never rust, and feature beautiful hand TIG welds. In designing these crash bars, AltRider went through the trouble of maintaining the hidden connector in the front to yield a seamless system. Why is that important It means the energy of a hard impact on one side can be transferred throughout the bars and to the other side. The three mounts on one side dont have to take an entire impact load instead, it is distributed across six mount mounts so none of them are overwhelmed. All of this is important because the crash bars will not only protect the fairing in the case of a crash, but also the Super Teneres exposed radiator. AltRider also conducted a thorough study to identify the bikes contact points when on its side. This led to a crash bar design that offers a wide contact area between the crash bars and the ground. The other contact points will be the handlebar bar ends, and rear passenger peg protecting the fairing, engine, radiator, and brake and shifter lever. Additionally, AltRider ensured the glove box side panel will have plenty of clearance to be easily removed while bars are still installed. Specifications Stainless T-304 construction Hand TIG welding 1 inch diameter tubing for strength Height 15 inches Width 20 inches Depth 18 inches Weight 11.5 lbs

I have now done some testing of the e-tint visor insert and have to say I love it. Even when it is not turned on it reduces the UV rays and reduces eye strain. I don't find it obtrusive at all. The cool thing about the auto mode is that you can set the threshhold it switches at. In my case I have it set to tint at a very low setting. It doesn't darken quite as much as the tinted visor it replaced but it is dark enough that there is no eye strain.
For people who are thinking of using it on a dual sport helmet like the fly trekker helmet it works great. It doesn't cover the entire screen but doesn't get in the way either. it covers the most important part of the screen and works great.
I have taken away 1 star because my screen has an issue. It doesn't flash when charging and sometimes it will not power on. I have to plug the USB cable into it and unplug it and it starts working correctly again. I have a faulty unit. other than that it is a great product.
Yes, I recommend this product.
