Shoei GT-Air Inertia Helmet Enjoying the ride is what motorcycling is all about and having a helmet that is comfortable and safe is just facilitates that enjoyment. The Shoei GT-Air has been designed from the ground up to be the ultimate all-rounder. With a fully adjustable ventilation system, drop-down internal sun visor, fog-free Pinlock CNS-1 face shield and Shoeis legendary comfort and quality, the GT-Air has all of the features you need to keep your focus on the road instead of on the discomforts a lesser helmet can cause. The Shoei GT-Air was developed using wind-tunnel testing at Shoeis state-of-the-art facility in Japan which lead to an aerodynamically tuned tri-composite shell that mitigates buffeting, as well as wind and road noise. The plush removable liner is comfortable, quiet and removable when you need to wash it. Light, safe and comfortable, the Shoei GT-Air meets and exceeds the needs of contemporary riders, allowing them to enjoy what they love mostthe ride. Aerodynamic Shell Design Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind tunnel testing and professional riders feedback Multi-Piece EPS liner enhances impact absorption and ventilation Three shell and four EPS liner sizes provide increased fit options that help to comfortably fit most head sizes Molded air spoiler reduces drag and lift, as well as diminishes pressure on the riders neck while riding at speed Sun Shield Visor System Built-in QSV-1 sun shield gives riders instant relief from sun glare in one quick motion Visor meets ANSI Z80.3-2010 standard for non-prescription eyeglasses Large and easy to reach switch activates the 3D injection-molded inner sun shield Distortion-free shield blocks 99 of harmful UV rays Forehead area of the outer shell is raised slightly to accommodate the internal sun shield, allowing the integrity of the GT-Airs inner EPS liner to remain intact Ventilation System Upper Air Intake Vent is positioned to maximize air volume into the helmet interior Large upper intake vent positioned to maximize performance behind wind screens Easy to operate large lower intake vent Lower air intake/defroster vent reduces shield fogging and increases ventilation The rear/neck vents allow for effective air exhaust Breath guard and chin curtain included Advanced Integrated Matrix (AIM) High performance fiber materials are combined with elastic organic fibers to create a shell structure that is ultra-lightweight, rigid and resilient Interior System 3-D Max-Dry center pad and multi-layered, polyurethane foam cheek pads Chin curtain prevents wind entry and reduces noise Cheek pads are replaceable or removable for maintenance Eyeglass compatible interior E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick-Release System) allows emergency medical personnel to easily remove the cheek pads from the helmet of a rider involved in an accident, in turn making the Shoei GT-Air more easily removable Standard Chin-Strap Clip Neatly secures chin strap CNS-1 Shield System The CNS-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces Includes Pinlock Anti-Fog Lens for more coverage of the CNS-1 shield Dual-Ridge window bead increases contact with the shield to reduce wind noise Scratch-resistant shield coating 99.9 protection from harmful UV AB rays Safety Certification DOT-218 Note Due to manufacturer restrictions, the GT-Air Helmet and other Shoei products can only be shipped to addresses within the United States

My old helmet was about 8 years old and needed replacing. So I started the search for helmets. I tried on multiple brands and through reading countless reviews here and elsewhere I decided on the GT Air helmet.
I've had the helmet for about a month now. The initial fit was quite snug. I wore an XL in my old helmet and continued with an XL with this one. I felt the cheek pads were pretty tight but over the last few weeks, the break in time allowed them to settle in. I doubt I'll have to order the small cheek pads.
The helmet is fairly quiet. Much more so than my older helmet but then again I had multiple problems with my old one that let a lot of air in. With the face shield down, it's very quiet. No need for ear plugs right now.
Airflow I would say is good with the top vent. Mediocre with the chin vent. With the top vent open, I can feel the air on the top of my forehead all the way back. It works well. With the chin vent, I can't really feel much in the way of airflow but my previous helmet wasn't gushing it in either. I lowered my windscreen on my GS which has helped a little more with the airflow. The helmet comes with the Pinlock antifog shield which I haven't put on yet. At speed, the shield remains fog free but at colder temps, the pinlock shield will be needed. They say you can keep the shield open slightly to allow more ventilation by not fully locking the shield but it's pretty minimal at best. Keeping the shield open at the first detent works well although it 's open about an inch. The noise when open is not all that bad and I notice decreases when you drop the integrated sun visor down. Btw, the sun visor is great. Darker than the previous one I had. No real need for sunglasses although I keep a pair on hand.
Will give an update when I get more miles in it. Of note, the price is a bit much, but will see if you get what you pay for.

I bought this to go with my Givi V46 topcase thinking my wife would like the extra padding on trips. I temporarily taped the pad to the appropriate mounting position and then had my wife sit on the pillion seat leaning against the topcase. She hated it. She said it was too bulky and was like a rock pushing into her back. Never mounted it. She is comfortable with just leaning back onto the topcase itself. Oh well........The quality is nice. Put together well, but very firm.

No surprises here. It's decent CE armor that I bought for my Klim Traverse pants ( although for the price of the pants, they should have come with them). They fit well in the pockets provided and feel comfortable in the seated position. In these pants, the armor doesn't slide down too much compared to others when you stand up. I have not ridden with them yet seeing how it's still winter but I think they will do the job. I will update later as I use the pants more....

I recently purchased the Givi V46 Monokey Topcase for my BMW R1200GS. I was looking for a good case without spending more money for a BMW topbox. I researched for a while and picked this case. Big enough for what I want to do. Also got the extra taillight kit to make my wife happy as well as the backpad. I haven't had on too long and no long trips as of yet (300+ miler) but it feels rock solid on the SR689 mounting bracket. No foul weather yet. So far I'm happy.
As for delivery, it took about a week. The UPS guys used it as a football and there were two sections of box that had been cut open along the lid sections. Not sure if anything was missing. The pkg was sparcely packed with protective paper and one sheet of airfilled plastic. I thought it would be protected more. Kind of odd I ordered the topcase from a New Jersey company, where the product company was based in NC, and the product shipped from Las Vegas. Revzilla was great at timing the shipping of the other two components to coincide with the arrival of the topcase. I like the SR689 mounting system. You do lose the BMW rack but can easily bungy stuff to the Givi. I'll revisit this review when I get more miles on the bike/case
