The TURBINE is a must-have for the everyday rider looking for a premium protective summer mesh jacket. The goal in developing the Turbine was to create a 'bomb-proof' mesh jacket. With Pro-Life armor for impact resistance, and SuperFabric on the impact areas, the Turbine Jacket is the choice for those wanting the breathability of a lightweight summer mesh jacket, but who in the past have been nervous about the protective qualities of mesh PROTECTION FEATURES Outer Shell Dynax mesh, Cordura 1000D, PWRshell 500D, PWRshell 750D, SuperFabric, Lorica reg Composition outer shell 98 polyamide, 2 other fibres Lining 100 polyester Protection Pro-Life CE (level 1) protection at shoulders and elbows, SuperFabric on impact areas and perforated Temperfoam at back Visibility laminated reflection at chest and back Recommended Upgrade SAS-TEC SC-1/12 Back Protector (not included) Pocket fits SC-1/12 size SAS-TEC Back Protector All Men's Turbine Jackets have the same size back protector pocket ERGONOMIC FEATURES Fit tour fit, regular Adjustability UTA tab at cuffs, flexisnap XL, adjustment straps at hips, adjustment tabs at upper and under arms Ventilation ventilation panels at chest, back and arms Features collar hook, stretch lips at elbows, long connection zipper and double short connection zipper Pockets slit pockets, membrane storage pocket, inner pockets Please Note The Turbine Jacket does not include a wind/waterproof layer as noted in the 2009 catalog, the specs changed after the catalog went to print. NOTE Turbine Jacket runs 1 size larger compared to other REV'IT Jackets and to what the size charts indicate. So if you measure up to be a size 52, you should go with a 50 instead.
Initially I bought the Turbine in a size 52 based on the sizing guide. I returned it for a size 50 that fits very well. The week after purchase I went on a five day/24k trip around lake Superior with this as my main jacket. The first day was 11 hrs with temps in the 90's all day, it was very comfortable and flowed air great. The remainder of the trip was high 80's for afternoon highs with morning temps in the mid-60's/low 70's. I wore a light windshell or fleece sweater underneath for morning travel. The jacket performed perfectly and was very comfortable for all day riding over a wide range of summer temps. The armor is reassuring yet not restrictive fit wise. I bought this jacket over the Tornado even though that jacket comes with a removable liner. I'm very pleased with the Turbine.
