Just like with Rev-It's gloves I bought in the past, buy snug and they'll break in perfectly. These are no exception. Great fit, excellent protection, and the air flow is perfect for hot, muggy DC summers. I'd recommend these to anybody.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Industry Leading Warmth Powerlet Performance(tm) Temperature Controllers provide industry leading warmth in extreme cold conditions. A full range of heat is achieved by designing a PC Board with minimal power loss. Don't Get Left Out In The Cold Powering your heated clothing from the vehicle using a quality Powerlet socket kit there is no need to recharge batteries and you will never be left riding in the cold. One Powerlet socket kit can power all of your appliances including heated clothing, GPS, cell phones (with a convenient PAC adapter), tire inflators, etc. Keep in mind you can also maintain/charge your vehicle battery using the same Powerlet socket that is powering your heated gear. Comfort Control We recommend using a temperature controller with all Powerlet ProForm heated jacket liners to achieve maximum comfort. Running the liner directly connected to the bike will be too warm in all but the most extreme cold conditions. Also this controller will limit the power drawn from the bike allowing the liner to be used on both large and small bikes. This enables our customers to enjoy a lifestyle utilizing convenient modern electronics. Built For A Lifetime Powerlet uses the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. Our temperature controllers are developed and tested in the USA by people who like to ride.

Is an Adapter Required To Use This With Gerbing Gear?

I have a Gerbing heated jacket liner, and the dual controller for it. The dual controller is a real pain to deal with because of the wires, so I am very interested in this Powerlet wireless control. I've been looking all over and cannot find any mention of whether or not this Powerlet wireless controller will plug directly into my Gerbing gear or whether I have to buy some sort of wiring adapter to make the plugs fit. Please advise! Thanks.
Unless something has changed, the plugs are interchangeable and I know several in the BMW crowd who use Gerbing and Powerlet (FirstGear, actually) heating products/clothing together interchangeably. I'd confirm with Gerbing customer service before buying, just in case.

What Gerbing heated sock size is best for size 11 mens

Your chart shows large 10.5-11 and Gerbing size chart shows Large 9-10.5 and X large 11-12.5
In my experience, Gerbing socks run large. I'd go with RevZilla's sizing chart on this one.

Gerbing heated sock

Hello,
Do I need to wear a sock liner under the heated socks or can the Gerbing socks contact skin?
No sock liners needed. If liners are used, they'll heat less effectively.

Gerbing's Hybrid Heated Gloves 12V but Li-ion 7.2V Battery?

I have ordered Li-ion that recommended to be used with Gerbing's Hybrid Heated Gloves. I thought the battery should be 12V not 7.2V. Does it work? Could you help? Also same question with the other customer. Do you sell charger for these batteries?
Gerbing manufactures two different product lines: Gerbing's Heated Clothing (powersports gear), and Coreheat (outdoor gear), both of which offer battery packs. The outdoor gear, rated for 7.2V DC, uses nanowire heating elements and is great for general outdoor use like hunting or bicycling. The powersports gear is rated for 12V DC so that it can be used interchangeably with a vehicle's built-in power or Gerbing 12V battery packs. Unlike the outdoor gear, powersports gear uses microwire heating elements, which are better suited to windy conditions you get with a motorcycle, ATV, or snowmobile.

I'm 90+ percent certain you need the 12V pack. First of all, your Hybrid gloves are part of the powersports gear product line so they're rated and optimized for 12V. Secondly, if memory serves the Coreheat 7.2V plug and receptacle is smaller than the 12V ones so that if you had outdoor gear, you couldn't inadvertently overload the nanowire heating elements with a 12V battery pack. To find out for certain, contact Gerbing customer service at 800-646-5916.

Also, I don't believe RevZilla sells the either the charger or battery kits. They're available for sale on the Gerbing web site, however: http://gerbing.com/Products/Gloves/hybridGlove.php

hunting?

I saw an ad for this in a hunting mag. I thought that it had 7V rechargable batteries but it looks now like it is only for the motorcyclist and needs to be connected to a DC (direct current)? Where are the battery operated ones?
Gerbing has two lines; one for powersports, the other for outdoorsmen. These socks are in the powersports line. The powersports line is works best when plugged in through your vehicle's 12V system and works best when regulated with their thermostat (you'll be roasting otherwise, even in sub freezing temps). However, they do offer rechargeable packs, found here: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/gerbings-two-12v-hybrid-glove-batteries-charger-kit. Those packs will work with socks, though you'll have a time figuring out where to put them.

I've had considerable experience with cold weather riding from Virginia winters to the early fall chill inside the Arctic Circle on the Dalton Highway, and have consistenly been pleased with Gerbing. I've even ridden in to their shop while passing through Pac NW when I had an issue with one of their regulators, and the crew is great and stand behind their products. Anyway, IMHO for sustained warming and ease of use, the powersports products in-line with your vehicle's power are best. Note that to get power to your extremeties, the easiest way to do it is via extension cables built in to Gerbings pants legs and jacket sleeves.

If you're going to forego in-line 12V power, I recommend their outdoor line (branded as CoreHeat), which uses 7V battery packs. More info here: http://coreheat.net.

Hi, If I wear a XL Rev'it sirocco what size would i want for the Kilmanjaro?

I am thinking about using this as a colder weather piece and would like the option to get a heated jacket or vest underneath when needed.
Firstgear follows traditional US sizing guidelines, while Rev'IT sizing seems more suited to...well, narrow-butted Europeans.

Anyway, go grab a mid-weight sweater or sweatshirt and put your Sirocco on over it to get an idea of how a Gerbing's or other electric heated jacket may feel. Before you do, completely loosen the arm and waist cinch straps. If the fit is snug or needs slight cinching at the waist and/or arms, in all likelihood you'll be just fine in the large Kilamanjaro. However, if it's tight or even the slightest bit uncomfortable, get the Kilamanjaro in XL. If you do and it feels big, you'll be able to cinch up it up easily enough to get a proper, crash-worthy fit.

One other thing to note: if you've never been fitted for heated gear before, make sure whatever you buy fits snugly to your entire body. Voids between the jacket and your body will draw cold air and greatly reduce the effectiveness of the heating elements.

I use a Arai quantum and Arai rx-7 with a size L. What is a bit big for me. What size would fit me? thanks

I've had several Arai helmets (regular lid is a Quantum II), and I also wear a Shark from time to time - an RSR2, if I remember correctly. Anyway, the fit ratio is the same; I wear an XL in both and both fit perfectly.

Heavy duty Polymide mesh and nylon outer Removable waterproof liner CE rated protectors in shoulders and elbows Removable spine pad with pocket for optional CE protector Adjustable waist Adjustable sleeves Snap loops for attaching jacket to belt Reflective Stripe

What is the difference between EE rated armor and CE rated shoulder and elbow armor?

CE is a European standardized rating scale of motorclothes armor impact absorption. There's a adequate explanation of that scale and benchmarking techniques here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_armor

EE I've never heard of, so your question piqued my interest and I did some research on it. Interestingly enough, that jacket's description is the only place I found the EE rating mentioned; you'll see it both on Revzilla's site and other motorclothes vendor sites. I couldn't find anything whatsoever about it being an actual rating scale, so I think it may just be a typo in the description the manufacturer sent to vendors.

Arai Vector 2 Helmet - Solid The Arai Vector 2 Motorcycle Helmet is the successor to Arai's hugely popular Vector model. New features for the Vector 2 Helmet include an SAI visor similar to RX-Q and Corsair V which provides wider field of vision. A replaceable interior liner has been modified to improve air flow around the head and to provide a more comfortable fit eliminating pressure points. The ventilation system has been revamped with a larger size switch and larger rear duct which will create 50 more vacuum.. Solid Colors Frost indicates a Matte finish Diamond refers to a metallic finish with metal flake Complex Laminate Construction (CLC) shell that combines excellent shell integrity with light weight Arai's exclusive multi-density, single piece hybrid EPS liner Arai's multi-density EPS liner is like no other, comprised of up to 5 different densities in some models which is molded into a single piece The single-piece hybrid liner and its unique benefit the direct-fused contact area that each EPS call shares with its neighboring cells creates a mutual support - as one cell is crushed under impact, the surrounding cells assist with the energy absorption. (Liner pieces that are simply fitted or glued together cannot rely on such a high-level support bond.) New ACF-2 front intake vent has an oversized intake opening for better airflow, and a sliding-door mechanism to more completely close it Brow Vent Faceshield Ventilation System provides cooling air in upper face area without holes in critical forehead area of the shell or in the impact-absorbing liner material Exclusive removable 5 mm Peel - away Cheek and Temple Pad layer-provides additional level of customization and fitment Extreme peripheral view - same wider field of side to side visibility as the top-of-the-line Corsair V racing helmet (an additional 5mm on each side when compared to to previous Vector model) New tuned rear vent/wing - Air inlets provide improved interior ventilation and heat removal Hyper-Ridge band - newly sculpted lower reinforcement band provides stability and lower center of gravity for a lightweight feeling. Larger side exhaust ports to increase airflow and minimize noise Dual pivot chin vent to direct air to the rider or the shield for de-misting Reinforced shell ridges with integrated side exhaust vents Larger bottom opening for easier on and off Removable/replaceable cheek pads with 5mm peel-away layer Micro-fitting 5mm peel away cheek pad layer first introduced on the RX-Q comes standard on the Vector 2. Gives you the option of a thinner cheek pad set for a custom fit without having to purchase additional cheek pads Expanding on the 5mm peel-away cheek pads, the Arai Vector 2 is the first Arai model to offer 5mm peel away temple pads as well Interior Shape Intermediate Oval - This shape is designed for the rider whose head has a front-to-back dimension that is longer than the side-to-side dimension. This is a neutral head-shape design which tends to fit most riders well. Meets or exceeds Snell M2010 and D.O.T. standards

Is the Arai Frost (matte) finish difficult to keep clean?

I have heard that this finish smudges easily, what is the best way to clean (or keep clean) this finish?
I've been wearing a black frost Quantum II for about a year now, and find it stays much cleaner than my gloss coat Quantum ever did, mostly because dead bug guts don't adhere to the surface as easily. When it needs some cleaning, about two minutes with a paper towel and Windex is all it takes.

On other thing to note - if you're like me and peel the stickers off, you'll find the matte finish will be and remain slightly less, um...matte-y (for lack of a better term) underneath.

Battery Tender Junior Charger - 6V and 12V The Battery Tender Junior is much more than a trickle charger. It has a brain. It's lightweight, compact, and fully automatic very easy to use, especially in small spaces. It will keep your battery fully charged so that it is ready to go when you are! Features Perfect for all lead-acid, flooded or sealed maintenance free batteries (AGM and gel cell) Complete 4-step charging program (Initialization, Bulk Charge, Absorption Mode, Float Mode) Automatically switches to float / maintenance voltage after fully charging the battery If the battery voltage drops too far under load, full charger output power resumes Solid state two color LED indicates stage of charger Spark-proof Reverse polarity protected 12' output cord 5 year warranty

Ihave a 2007 BMW Kgt 1200.

There is a port to connect with a charger. Does this charger have the proper lead for this mototcycle? The manual says NOT to charge the battery (unless thru the port) .That means taking off the seat, etc, etc. If it comes with the lead great, or include one if you fill this order,ok? Thanks lorin
It doesn't - you'll have to buy a powerlet adapter if you want to plug in to the port. Note that if you go this route, there's a key on/off procedure you'll have to follow or the port will shut off and the battery won't receive a charge.

Anyway, I've had six BMWs, two with CANbus electronics whose manuals included the same disclaimer you mentioned. I was wary too, but after some research I found I was able to safely use the Battery Tender with it's included harness kit to charge directly to the battery, which I did. Note that Battery Tender ships two different harness kits; one with an in-line fuse, one without (I think the BT Jr. doesn't have the in-line fuse). I recommend only using the fused model.

BMW sells an OEM branded charger you can plug directly in to the factory powerlet, but many prefer the Battery Tender and think it's a better product. I'm one of them, as are quite a few good staffers I know at BMW dealerships around the country.

If you'd like more info, you'll find a lot of chatter on this topic on sites like ADVrider and other BMW specific forums - just do a Google search.
