Icon Field Armor Stryker Shorts Hip Armor is a lifesaver. Well not a lifesaver, but definitely a hip protector. So much so that we integrated both biofoam and CE hip protectors into the Field Armor Stryker shorts. The form fitting chassis places a layer of high-tenacity aramid between your ass and the street. If you have ever been down before, you wont need any further convincing on the need for this feature. Finally the mesh crotch panel provides ventilation in key areas, because protection without ventilation is just plain...sweaty. The Field Armor Stryker shorts, shielding the bits you hold most dear. I've been wearing these for a few days now and they're so comfortable I keep forgetting they're there until I try to scratch my hips or fish items from my pockets.
The d3o armour works great! I've done some "tests" at home and I am pleasantly surprised at how well they work. The foam paddings underneath the d3o armours further enhances shock absorption.
We are approaching winter where I live, so I can't say how breathable these shorts are. But if it's any indication, I don't feel any warmer with them on.
I wear them over my jocks, under my kevlar pants. Because judging by the way the fabric feels, I don't believe they're supposed to replace your jocks / boxers. You can certainly do so, but I know I wouldn't.

Icon Field Armor Stryker Knee Guard Road rash on your knees or gouged shins will ruin your month. Icon knows these lessons well. If you chose to hit the streets in anything less then full leather pants you need knee armor. That's a damn fact. The Field Armor Stryker knee armor is equipped with d3o intelligent foam and feature full CE approval. The low-profile rider developed chassis fits easily under almost any pant with easy adjustment Velcro strapping to keep them in place. Wear them and stand a fighting chance of skipping that painful trip to the hospital, so you can begin the equally painful search for new clipon and rearset on ebay. The first thing I noticed upon unboxing was how bulky they were. They still fit under my Draggin K-Legs, but just. Build quality seems to be excellent. I'm fairly confident they would do a good job in absorbing impact.
I wouldn't wear these over my kevlars though. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as with most knee armours in the market, the straps are not made of abrasion resistant materials. Hence, these armours may not stay in place in a crash unless you wear an abrasion resistant layer over them.
My biggest gripe with these armours is in the comfort factor. The bottom tips dig into my shins and after 2 days of commuting to and from work, they left bruises on my shins. This may have to do with the fact that I had to tuck them in my boots (TCX X-Miles). This may have more to do with me being 5'6". May work better for taller folks with longer legs than mine.
Note: I adjusted the straps just tight enough to keep them from slipping when I walk.
My other complaint would be how the velcro rubs against my calves. They will most likely chafe after a bit of walking.

Like all Kriega US bags, it is a 100 waterproof Drypack with innovative design which attaches to the sub-frame, via included buckle loops and Alloy Hook Straps, for use as a motorcycle tail pack and courier bag. The Kriega US-20 motorcycle bag comes equipped with removable shoulder and waist straps. It can be carried courier style, on or off the bike. I've had my US-20 for nearly a year now. I use it for my daily commute and, having ridden through a number of torrential downpours, I can tell you the Drypack really is completely waterproof. The main compartment has never leaked. Just make sure you don't put anything you don't want to get wet in the front compartment as it's not waterproof (nor did Kriega claimed it to be). Also, be careful that the hard plastic bits (buckles, etc.) are not pressed against any paint work when fastening the bag on your bike.
