I bought this as something that i could use everyday. I did not want some huge racing boots when I go to work or school and this seemed perfect for me. It looks nice, does not look different from normal day to day shoes beside being a little big and its comfortable. The size fit perfectly and the quality is excellent. About month after I bought it I was involved in a 50 mpg high side on the back roads, and while the shoes were a little dinged up on the toe area, it did its job. It still wearable and beside the scratches in the metal toe area it is fine and I wear it everyday i ride.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Look for the S-MX 1 Riding Shoes to be a perennial favorite for the casual enthusiast and hard core sport riders. Features Upper constructed from lightweight microfiber Breathable mesh inserts and perforated side panel for enhanced ventilation Foam backed, double density ankle protector on the medial side Reinforced toebox layered under the microfiber upper Plush 3D mesh inner liner Combination zipper and Velcro strap closure system Outsole constructed with the same advanced rubber compound as the S-MX 5 Boot External TPU protection on the outer ankle External TPU shift pad, slider and heel counter Integrated shank in the sole for extra rigidity Anatomically profiled EVA foam footbed.

Does the S-MX1 have a "hard" lower shin protection and "hard" ankle protection. Can you kindly please add more to the description regarding safety?
