Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet Building upon the success of their previous modular helmets, the Shoei Neotec Helmet was designed with long distance and ADV touring in mind. The innovative tri-composite shell has been designed to provide riders with a smooth and quiet ride while reducing, lift, weight and increasing overall safety. The shell of the Neotec has also been designed to house the internal drop-down sun visor, eliminating the need to reduce the thickness of the EPS liner and potentially compromise safety. An integrated face shield shield and chinbar pivot point reduces the number of moving parts, mitigates wind noise and enables riders to close both the chinbar and face shield in the same motion. Shoeis stainless steel 360 Pivot Locking System secures the chinbar when it is in the closed position and the dual-layer EPS liner provides enhance impact absorption and is channeled to facilitate ventilation. From the shell to EPS to the 3D formed comfort liner, the Shoei Neotec is purpose built to provide unrivaled rider comfort and safety. Perfect for nearly any type of ride and rider, the Neotec is the ultimate in touring performance. Shoei Neotec Helmet Features Face Shield Features Easily operable lever mechanism Anti-fog, anti-scratch, 99 UV blocking Pinlock-ready CNS-1 faceshield Wider and taller than the CX-1V that it replaces Includes Pinlock insert 3D injection molding process ensures a distortion-free view Ventilation and Aerodynamics Vortex generator vents pull air through helmet 276 more airflow than Multitec Added inlets and outlets Vents are flush against helmet to maintain aerodynamics 5-Ply Shock-Absorbing Fiber Shell 3 shell sizes AIM Multi-Composite construction Lightweight yet strong Shell-integrated spoiler reduces lift and drag during high-speed riding Dual EPS Liner Multi-density EPS for optimal protection Two vents funnel fresh air through the EPS liner Dual liner channels route and disperse air evenly throughout the helmet EPS liner in chin bar Interior Fully removable 3D interior liner Top center pad is removable and washable Improved cheekpad design allows better fit with eyeglasses Included chin curtain can be inserted into the chin bar to reduce turbulence and noise All Neotec Helmets sold in the US have a double D-ring closure Note Due to manufacturer restrictions, Shoei products can only be shipped to addresses within the United States

This is a well thought out "best of the breed" helmet with one glaring omission. There is no way to crack open the visor for a low-flow anti-fog air stream in cold weather. It does come with a pin-lok anti fog system, but in rapidly changing weather that's not as useful (reduced clarity and increased distortion with pin-lok shield) as simply cracking open the visor a tiny amount with a small lever. The first detent when you open the visor is FAR too open. If you like the simplicity of a good anti-fog vent, pass on this helmet, it doesn't have one.
Otherwise, a near perfect flip-up helmet.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Optically clear. Surprisingly resistant to scratches - none in 5800 miles so far. Perfect for cloudless days, nights and any time in between. Works well on cloudy days. On partly cloudy days with lots of small clouds and bright sun between, it doesn't get dark quick enough to make the transitions. I wear a pair of shades for those conditions, but otherwise it is just right. Money well spent.
Yes, I recommend this product.

FIts my Vstrom (Suzuki DL650) with Jesse Luggage and tall windscreen just fine. The side straps just reach the foot pegs, but they do reach. Without the luggage mounted, it is a bit full in the rear, but a extra strap set sewn further rearward keeps it from blowing up or billowing. Seat, tank bag, and electronics stay dry even in torrential, windy downpour. Folds compact into nice bag. (I tossed the waist band straps supplied on the bag.)
Yes, I recommend this product.

Bell RS-1 Helmet - Solid Colors The Bell RS-1 Helmet bridges the gap between the top-of-the-line Bell Star and the value-minded Vortex with an amazing blend of mid-line price and high-end performance. Starting with a lightweight Kevlar/fiberglass composite shell, the RS-1 brings it with Bells vaunted Velocity Flow Ventilation system providing cool comfort, a super stable aerodynamic profile keeping the helmet still at speed, and the versatile Click Release shield system for fast, easy shield swap, not to mention an amazing variety of tint and coating choices. The Bell RS-1 Helmet should be a game changer in the mid-high end helmet assortment. The RS-1 Helmet will prove its worth on track and street alike. Contour Cut cheek pads and a plush, removable, washable liner cradle the head in comfort while Bells exclusive Magnafusion magnetic strap keeper makes flapping strap ends a thing of the past. All told, its one great helmet at a modest price. LOTS of air flow. Quiet - compared to Icon Airframe, which is reputedly very quiet also. Interier pad cover material is soft and feels great on your skin.
Helmet did NOT fog up in several hours of rain at 48 to 55 DegF!
Get the photo-chromatic visor. It is worth every cent. I just finished a 2300 miles of adventure touring and never used sunshades once, but had crystal clear vision at night. Perfect.
