I bought a used Shoei Hornet DS in XXL and it fit larger than other brands. Thanks to Revzilla, I found that the shell size on XL and XXL are identical. I bought the XL interior pads and now helmet fits well. Not the quietest helmet. Also definitely more lift at speed than a prior DS helmet: AFX FX39 DS (though the AFX is a huge bubble of a helmet).

Not as cool or vented as I hoped for. In fact on hot days I'm much happier and less hot in a t-shirt with elbow armor. The style is okay but not as sharp as my Klim Revolt jersey. The Klim pants (Chinook) and Mojave gloves are MUCH nicer, vent better, and are slightly higher quality than this (somewhat average) jersey. For the money, it is the best I've tried but none seem superb. I'd pay more for more technical material.

I never used the stock seat on my Wee for long because it sucked. The Suzuki gel is quite good and gave an extra inch of legroom. Then I tried the Sargent. The Sargent sat too low for me, causing minor knee cramp in 100 miles that I never had in 26,000 on the higher gel seat. On the Sargent my butt was mildly sore at the 100 mile mark, no better than the gel seat. However Sargent made my groin area sore too, a new problem. For these reasons I cannot recommend this product, nor can I rate it better than fair. Seats are subjective and there are many rider variables. I am 6'1" with 33.5" inseam and the Sargent is probably better for average height or slIghtly shorter riders. The Sargent is super light, fit is good, the storage tube is neat, and it looks awesome. But for me I sold it after a 300 mile trial because my Suzuki gel seat is better. The gel gets hot but an Alaska sheepskin works to cool it off. By the way the Alaska sheepskin on the Sargent still ached my groin and legroom was still worse than gel seat. For reference I had a Sargent on my 2004 VFR800 and it was good, not great. I've had two Corbin's on past bikes and they are good too, but heavy and not great either. Yes I am picky but experienced too. The "great" seat is the Russell Day Long despite it's looks. Nothing else is pain free.

I've been riding for 29 years and have had many better gloves. These Firstgear Master summer gloves did not breathe well in the heat, were tough to get off your hands when wet, and leaked very badly after 30 minutes of heavy rain despite Firstgear's claim of waterproof breathable features. Rode in three very long rain rides and in all three cases my hands were absolutely soaked. Re-sale value is good and sold 'em for $45. Would rec any Gore-tex glove or ... For about the same price I replaced with Tourmaster perforated leather summer gloves PLUS Aerostitch 100% waterproof over-gloves from Rider Wearhouse. The over-gloves are truly incredible, will last a lifetime and pack small when not in use.

The seat fit and looked great and is softer than the Corbin. Unlike the heavier Corbin, the light Sargent also has no break-in period to speak of. Comfort is better than stock and makes 200-300 miles quite a bit more comfy. Make no mistake this is not a Russell Day Long seat nor does it make the VFR into a Goldwing! With the Heli bar risers and Sargent seat the VFR was pretty comfy for my 6'1", 34" inseam size. However, the cramped knee bend on the VFR is what hurt worse after 200 miles than my butt on the Sargent. Ultimately, I prefer my V-Strom over the VFR due to spaciousness

Be sure to set front PSI lower than rear such as 18 psi front and 22 psi rear for street riding or else front tire will feel nervous. Handling on road is much better than most 90% dirt tires and turn in is smooth and handling is secure when leaned over. In the dirt these are much better than Trail Wings or other OEM rubber that most dual sports come with. On my XR650L the MT21s handle dirt well. No DOT tire handles mud quite as well as full on dirt tire but these are close enough and tread wear is fine unless you are a highway commuter.

Great fit and finish. At first I almost got the lighter Mojave but for the Northern NY riding the Revolt is plenty light enough. It's worth the extra $10 over cheaper brands and that's why I gave it 5 stars for value. I never feel hot in it. Cut is really nice. Ordered at same time as new helmet and came in two days with free shipping. How can you go wrong with Revzilla!

Thank you Revzilla for the super quick shipping first off. Bought a size L AFX fx-39 in Silver Strike color which fits like an XL Arai profile (signet gt), XL Arai XD3, or XL Scorpion exo 900, so in other words consider going a size smaller (which Amoto recommends).
Plus: zero optical distortion, no peak lift even up to 105 mph on my V-Strom, fairly quiet with ear plugs/acceptable without, three point peak attachment (better than Arai) eliminates vibes and is adjustable w/out tools, my Scott goggles fit and can open or close shield with goggles, my prescription sun glasses fit great inside, tight cheek pads wore in quickly and now feel fine, shield seals fine and will stay open a crack if desired, good venting maybe too much for cold weather, nice ratchet chin strap can be loosened while riding.
Minus: 1) no retention button on chin strap: solution is that before riding I rec you tighten chin strap all the way past the label, test fit then cut extra strap, then slightly burn end with match to seal. Took five minutes. 2) Eye port is slightly smaller than my MX helmet and therefore no real airflow around the sides of goggles due to snug fit and some larger googles may not fit; 3) my glasses didn't fit perfectly though my prescription sunglasses fit perfect (note: optional thinner cheek pads may be an option here).
Overall, this is a real keeper and a great value at under $130. In fact, the features seem better than $350 DS helmets and just blow away sub $200 competition such as the Fulmer ADV which I returned to local dealer due to peak lift, optical distortion, and poor fit (more for a rounder head). Even the nice looking AGV is noted to have poor peak lift.

What are the differences between the Adventure rain and Astars Scout boots? Both have lots of excellent reviews. But quite a difference in price. Also, for fit, I wear an 8.5 Nike. What would be most likely size for me in each boot? And lastly, do you ship these to Canada?

For the price the AS Scout is the much better buy. These are my two favorite brands. Sidi makes great products with excellent durability and comfort but I only REALLY love boots with Gore-tex. The Sidi Adv Rain squeak when you walk, are not truly waterproof, and cost much more, which would not feel like much of an upgrade over the Scout aside from nicer buckles. To get full waterproof, Sidi offers the Gore-tex Sidi Adventure which is an addittional $200 or so. I've had other Sidi Rain series boots and in heavy down pours over an hour they leak ... I mean your feet will be soaked in sustained downpours. If you want protection both products will be about the same. Just don't expect Gore-tex performance from either and you won't be disappointed.

When sizing a jersey such as the Klim, should one go upsize to fit over armor?
I would not go up one size unless you are very bulky or your armor is very bulky. The XL already fits like some brands XXL when there is no armor which tells me the sizing is spot on without going up a size. Also generous in length of sleeves and body when not wearing armor.
