When I decided to get a helmet, I purchased a trusted brand (Shoei) and pay the extra $. After having it for over 6 months and 3 seasons I can confidently review the Helmet. (5 deg to 35 deg Australian weather)
All I can say is that I never had a complaint with the helmet, just make sure you try it in person to see if it fits your head shape prior buying, as Shoei are known to fit more of the narrow types.
Sometimes I questioned if the "overpriced Shoei" are worth it, but after buying a cheaper Rjays (Australian Brand) spare helmet for my pillions and riding in it concluded that it was worth the extra $. The quality of the lining pulls sweat MUCH better than the Rjays and the quality of the Shoei was simply outstanding, the eps, construction and quality of the parts is what those extra $200-$300 go into.
Yes both of these helmets are DOT, ECE or AS1698 certified, but been an owner of a cheaper helmet and the Shoei, I can confidently say that these are quality Helmets and you are not overcharge for just a brand name.

These are more for the rash/burn protection, dont expect these to offer impact protection, but covering the hips and thighs, they are definately worth the added "layer" when you do come down on a slide. I used these for snowboarding a few times, they are very comfortable and can be used for other activities,
TCX X-Cube Boots Italian styling, proprietary WaterProof membrane, and great over the ankle protection make this boot perfect for a quick afternoon session or an all-day ride. Dual compound sole makes peg grip a non-issue, while offering great traction off the bike. Upper composed of suede leather and Air Tech material Water resistant lining Malleolous protection and polyurethane ankle support Double closure system with laces and Velcro for a better fit Anatomic and replaceable footbed Wear-resistant all uses sole
I had these for 5 months and loved it, havent had the chance to wear them in the rain ( I avoid riding in the rain) but in the dry, i really love having these on. Offers the level of protection you need (commute, sports riding) with the lack of storm tropper look of other boots.
Cons: (1 and only) laces are long as others stated.
Rides: 2011 Honda CBR250R

Bang for the Buck
Protection & Durability
This gloves performs and offers the best protection for its size. Mine has also torn after the stiching has come off as stated by 2 other reviews.
Overall i would recommend this glove, but you may get the bad one in the patch with the poor quality control.
