I live in So. Cal. we have generally mild weather. Since I commute, it can be as cold as 50F in the mornings and 95F by mid afternoon. I needed a glove that covered that range. This glove is perfect. One note, using the size chart, I was suppose to get size 11... I went for the 12 which fits perfectly. As always, Revzilla made life easy for me. Thanks guys.

I purchased this boot with protection in mind and from the construction, it seems like it will do it's job. I gave it a fair rating on air flow, but it even has less than that, but it's a "rain boot," it's not about air flow. I've used it on a daily basis since it showed up about two weeks ago for my Southern California commute with 105 temps in the valley and it was still OK, so don't let air flow be your deciding factor here. The sole is stiff and grips well which is great on the bike especially if you like to stand on the pegs... It feels more like a stiff hiking boot when walking around. I was concerned about getting in and out of it as I change several times during the day, but they are easy to deal with. I've not used them in the rain and won't for a while yet, but the way they are constructed, I can't imagine any problems there. You may have to a adjust your shift lever up a bit for the added volume of the toe box.

It was the OEM tire on my Ducati Streetfighter. The bike is used for some commuting and "canyon play," but never used for track days. The tire was great for 4,000 miles and even though it was paper thin when I changed it, it still held the road well. There was no question that I would put the same tire on as the replacement.

It was the OEM part that came on my Ducati Streetfighter. I don't do track days on this bike, but the tire would have done well on the track. I use the bike for a reasonable amount of commuting and some medium to hard "canyon days." Both front and rear tires were ready to be changed at 4,000 miles. The good news is that even though they were paper thin at that point, they still stuck to the ground well.

The fit and comfort of this boot is great right out of the box. The sole is firm, but light walking (not all day) around is OK... It also has great grip on the bottom, so it stays where you put it on the peg. I've only owned Sidi before and for around the same price, this boot seem to have more all around protection.

Boot wideth

Okay, looking to purchase my first ever track boot. I have a wide foot. I wear a 10.5 american, so I figure a 45 euro should do well for length. BUT, what brand/model has a wider foot vs. narrow foot? I don't live anywhere near a place that carries the various brands to try on.
I like the look of the Spidi xp wrs, but I think some of the tracks do not allow metal toe slidders. Are they replacable with plastic? I like the look of the Sidi Cobra too
Suggestions are welcome
Any track boot will fit more narrow than say an adventure or touring boot. I wear a EE in regular shoes and have never had a problem fitting into any Sidi race boot (3 pair over the years. Dainese seems to fit tighter in width. Gaerne feels just like Sidi to me. Some of the italian companies will also offer different widths, so you may want to check.

Will this armor fit in my Shift Avenger jacket?

Hey man, you may be trying to get the wrong question answered here. What you should be asking is... Will this operate the way the manufacturer intended it to? A lot of time and money goes into figuring out how this stuff is suppose to operate correctly. Messing with that is usually not a good thing.

I'm curious about the calf fit on the Sidi Cobra Rain boots as I have fairly small calves.

My foot is size 7- 7.5 usually with a calf diameter of 13-14 inchs. I was looking at the Vertigos for this reason but really like the waterproof feature as we often get caught out in the rain.
Usually, people worry about calf fit if they have large calves. Also, you will be able to adjust this boot a bit at the top velcro flap. Good luck!

Shin Guard?

Is there any built-in shin protection with this boot (other than the leather)?
The company claims inner protection, but stops short on actually saying "shin guard." Remember, these companies will brag about anything to sell the product. Gaerne is a great boot company and I have a feeling that you want a boot that doesn't look so much like a motorcycle boot when you're off the bike. Good luck with that one. You see, in order for then, "even the Italians," to make a protective boot, they have to add reinforcement, which will make it ugly. Gaerne and Sidi will come way closer than most in making it look good too.

Is the thermal liner a full sleeved liner?

This may not help much, but I have two Dianese jackets and both liners go through the sleeve. They also make first rate gear, you will love any and all of their line. Sorry that I couldn't help more!

When are the going to put these on clearance?

I keep waiting for RevZilla to get desperate enough for more warehouse space to knock some cash off this jacket's price. I want one, but I might just wait till next spring, unless they drop the price to get me off the fence. Of course, by the time they do, the color I want or the size I need will be gone.
If you're a winter rider, get it now and forget about the couple of bucks you may or may not save. Why be cold and wet with a pocket full of cash?

Are there any options for female protection in a form of a vest?

I need something to be worn under a jacket or a leather suit which already has elbow/sholder protection. This looks like it wouldn't fit (even with shoulder/elbow pads removed).
It sounds like you want back and chest protection without the shoulder and arm pro? If in fact this is the case, Alpinestar makes this piece and I'm pretty sure that Revzilla sells it. If not, Dianese also make a version of it. Good luck.

Does this have any elbow or shoulder protection? Would this be good for NW weather? Rain and cold.

It's not made completely clear, but when Dainese says that it has "composite protection," followed by numbers and letters... It is referring to it's elbow and shoulder protection.

You also asked about rain and cold. I have a D-Dry paint and jacket system that I love, but if I know that it's gonna be a rough weather day, I reach for the Revit gear in the closet. Revzilla sells this stuff, they also have some pieces from Held and Klim. It's all great stuff, but the Revit is generally less expensive than the rest with the same quality. Look under their Adventure Rider category to find this stuff.

How to size this jacket

I have two other Astars womens' leather jackets, including one Stella model. Both of these are size 46 and fit me perfectly.
Your Astars' chart, however, seems to advise a size 40 as I have a 36 bust. So, what do you think? I'm leaning toward the 46 based on my other two garments. I don't want to play sending back games, if possible.
Thanks.
The only reason that I'm answering this question is because you said that you have a "36 bust!" And also my dogs name is Stella. Go with the 46... You will have an 8 out of 10 chance that it's correct. I had a woman in a Dainese shop who took one look at me and said that I was a 52 or 54. I said no, Please hand me a 50 (I had 2 Dainese 50s and a Belstaff 50 sitting at home and they fit perfectly). She was convinced that I needed a bigger size. After trying on what she wanted me to try, she handed me the 50. It fit as though It was made for me. The lesson here is go with your instinct!
