I have waited for the Shark Evoline 3 helmet to come to the states since I heard it was introduced in the European market. Upon arriving it was well packaged and lighter then expected. Shark provided additional information on proper care and provided lubricant.
I ordered a medium helmet and it fits well, it is a more round shaped helmet then most. I normally wear a medium helmet and this was true to size. The interior padding is well constructed and made of quality materials. The removable padding makes for easy cleaning and care. I especially like the option to remove some padding to allow easy on/off of eye glasses. The flip down sunshade is adequately tinted and comes down far enough to easily cover glasses and prevent sunlight from bothering your eyes. I love the thickness of the clear face shield-- it is much thicker then any other face shield I have seen.
The flip up motion of the helmet is seamless and is easily done while riding. The weight distribution with it flipped up takes some getting used to but is a worthy feature being that this is the only helmet on the market that allows you to ride with it in the flipped up position thus creating a 3/4 helmet when up. It's weight is heavier then a normal full face or 3/4 face helmet but on par with other modular helmets.
One of the neatest features of this helmet is the Luminesence -- the helmet really does glow after being in the sun. It is definately a great safety feature and just plain cool ! I get lots of compliments for other riders.
The noise level is a little louder then expected, especially when closed. I wish it had a cowl/ chin curtain on the bottom that could be installed or removed easily- it would prevent some of the noise.
I throughly enjoy the versatility the helmet provides especially when going from highway riding to back road riding. It is wonderful to be able to reach for a drink without having to totally undo my helmet. It has become my primary helmet while riding and I consider it a worthy purchase. I highly suggest shark as a company--whether you purchase an Evoline or a regular full face helmet. Shark is a worthy brand and I suggest you put them on the top of your list.
Yes, I recommend this product.
