The stability of this helmet is something I did not expect. Riding a naked bike, I'd become accustomed to having my head constantly blown around like a wiffle ball. In fact, even after short rides, my neck and upper back would be tight, and the next day it was pretty normal to be sore.
I thought it was just part of the deal until I bought the Nolan. It's just a new helmet, but might as well be a brand new bike.
My head doesn't get blown around and battered anymore. It doesn't matter whether I'm looking directly ahead, if my head is turned while looking ahead into a corner, or I'm looking aggressively behind me for a lane-check; this helmet makes wind a total non-issue. My neck is no longer sore. I no longer have to work just to look ahead during a ride. I no longer loathe lane-checks.
Is it possible for a helmet to make riding more fun?
Other huge benefits--
Really, really good anti-fog lense and venting.
The modular convenience is fantastic. I can actually carry on a conversation without removing the helmet every time. I also leave it up while riding at low speeds around downtown, and can't see going back to a full face ever again.
The helmet is designed to accept a bluetooth headset, and with some minor adjustments, it accepted a SENA SMH10 flawlessly.
I found the helmet through a web bike world review. I'd been prepared to spend $600-$700 for a new helmet if need be. This helmet is superbly finished, made with very, very nice components, actually functions the way it is intended. I couldn't be happier.
Buy this helmet. Don't hesitate. You'll be happy you did. It may change your riding entirely.
BTW, Shoei RF-1000 for sale!
Yes, I recommend this product.
