These pants are great. Very warm, so far 100% water proof as well. They feel pretty chunky, they feel like they'd be pretty good on the protection front.
Tall guys beware if you ride a bike that has your legs folded up. I ride a naked, am 6ft3in tall and got the 52, the pants ride up my boot (if it weren't for the elasticized inner water would get into the boot).
Would be fine on something more relaxed like a VFR.
