Airhawk R Seat Pad The last mile feels like the first, thanks to AIRHAWK's exclusive Shape Fitting Technology. This patented system eliminates painful points and promotes consistent blood flow for a longer, more comfortable ride. Memory foam can't do it. Gel seat can't do it. Only a genuine Airhawk R Seat cushion can do it. The neoprene AIRHAWK's stretchy material has a much more substantial and luxurious feel, especially at the end of a long day in the saddle. Features Center cutout area runs from front to back of cushion Re-designed cell geometry improves airflow under the rider no hot seat Back cutaway allows for a tail bone relief area with a tapered transition for increased comfort Cushion comes standard with cover, attachment loops, and cruiser straps. Cushion Material Neoprene rubber Cover Material Stretch polyester material top cover. Side panels are 3-layer knit polyester providing air circulation. Fluid-proof, non-skid base is easy to clean and durable. Dimensions 15.25 Wide x 14 Deep x 2 Tall (39.5 cm x 35.5 cm x 5 cm) 3 year limited warranty

I just finished a six day ride from Texas to Colorado. I rode 2800 miles during this journey. I have an after market seat on my R1200gs Adventure. While it is comfortable, on extra long rides, it's not so great. Friends recommended an Airhawk. I decided to step up and buy the Airhawk R. I have to say, it was a good buy. Most of the time I was riding, I didn't even think about my butt. Anyone who has done any distance riding knows this is a very good thing. I sometimes had to adjust the cover and rearrange a few things (if you know what I mean) but, other than that, I really have no complaints about the Airhawk R.
As the directions indicate, you don't need a lot of air in the air chambers. When you hit higher elevations, you'll need to let a little air out but, this is very simple. I actually did this while riding on a straight piece of roadway. (I don't recommend this behavior.) When I came down from the mountains, I added a little puff of air and all was good again.
If you're planning a long ride, do yourself a favor and pick up a Airhawk R. You won't be disappointed.

This is the third modular helmet that I have owned. I've owned another Shoei and a Schuberth. Both of those helmets had their own little issues but not like this helmet. When I close the chin bar, there is little to no clearance between my chin and the lower front of the helmet. I don't have a particularly large chin or long face. It makes the helmet a little uncomfortable but not unwearable. I will hopefully get used to this fitment.
Otherwise, I am quite pleased with the venting. I live in Central Texas and have worn it 100+ degree temperatures. The air moves well through the helmet, making it quite cool in the crown and back. The shape of the helmet is no par with the other four Shoei helmets I currently own. The finish is excellent and the Bright Yellow color is very visible and nicely applied. I like the vision pattern and the visor optics are excellent. The interior pad construction is what you would expect for a helmet in this price range and the operation of the mechanism is crisp and reassuring. The best thing about the helmet is the noise level at speed. For a modular helmet it is very quiet.
In summary, I believe the helmet will serve me well and I recommend it. I just wish there was another 1/4-inch of chin room but, I think I'll get used to this.
