Heidenau K60 Scout Front Tire A true 50/50 dual sport tire, the K60 Scout brings a proven balance of performance on- and off-road. With an improved tread and compound, the Scout delivers better cornering stability and wet weather grip on the pavement, while delivering off-road as well. The chevron style tread pattern is similar to full knobby designs which provides lots of open space between the tread blocks to route sand, mud and water from the contact patch while constantly keeping some rubber in contact with the road as the tire rotates. This tire is a stand-out as it does not sacrifice on-road longevity and adhesion to the pavement for off-road traction. A difficult feat for any tire to accomplish. TL Tubeless TT Tube Type Tire

I bought a set for a trip to the northern Rockies in September. I almost left them off and used the Shinko 705's, which I do still like. But the Heidenaus performed flawlessy! I now have about 5,000 miles on them, and the rear still has 75% left. The front doesn't look much different then when I put it on.
I aired down to about 22 rear/20 front when off pavement and about 40 rear/38 front while on pavement(loaded bike), and I loved the tires for both. Off-road, it was especially noticeable how much more traction I had compared to 705's, and on-road, I was able to lean into corners just as hard.
These are more expensive than a Shinko, but they are much more capable off-road, and considering the longevity, they seem to be a much better bargain.

I bought this as a second helmet, but I have ended up using it almost exclusively. The fit and finish is amazing for a helmet at this price point. I just cannot spend $4-500 on a helmet right now. I bought this as a stopgap until I could afford a more expensive one, but if this helmet holds up, I will definitely but another and save the money.
