I ride a BMW sport touring bike and for long haul stuff, I have a full set of all weather gear centered around the Aerostich Darien jacket. But when not on either a hard ride in the North Georgia Mountains or a long ride, I do a LOT of running around town on my bike. The Darien is just too big and bulky for these short trips, not to mention that it costs enough that I would not be comfortable laying it on the seat of my bike to run inside Wal Mart.
So Is started looking for a good, waterproof, jacket that did not cost so much that I would not lay it on my bike for the quick trips around town. I also wanted a jacket that if I did wear it into a store or restaurant, would not screen "motorcycle guy, look at me, look at me!". This jacket fits the bill perfectly and I am LOVING it!
It has a zip-in liner so it works great for the typical days in Atlanta through the winter when the temps are like high 40's to 50's. NOT riding it for long distance, however, so keep that in mind. And I can take the liner out and it will be perfect for the late spring, early fall weather and probably also for night time riding in the summer time.
I gave it an average on airflow because it is a wind proof shell, so I did not want it to have great airflow for my type of use.
I gave it a good on features for just one reason, and this is a really picky reason. It has the European style zipper, which for us men in the USA, means the zipper is on the left side, not the right side. Also, I wish the little tag/handle on the zipper was just a wee bit larger. I'm a 6'1" guy and wear size XL gloves, and the zipper pull is just a bit small for my gloved hands.
Other than the zipper issues, I would give it an excellent on features. It has nice armor in the shoulder and elbow regions that makes me feel a bit more secure, but it fits the flow of the jacket very well so non-riders would likely never notice that the jacket even had such armor in it.
If you are looking for a great jacket for usage similar to what I described, I think you will be very happy with this.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Is an Adapter Required To Use This With Gerbing Gear?

I have a Gerbing heated jacket liner, and the dual controller for it. The dual controller is a real pain to deal with because of the wires, so I am very interested in this Powerlet wireless control. I've been looking all over and cannot find any mention of whether or not this Powerlet wireless controller will plug directly into my Gerbing gear or whether I have to buy some sort of wiring adapter to make the plugs fit. Please advise! Thanks.

Is There A Battery Available?

Is there a battery available that would allow me to use my Gerbing's heated jacket liner at say a winter football game?
