Glenn07 covered most everything but I use the XM all of the time and rarely lose reception. The weather and traffic are great. Sometimes the buttons on the screen don't react when touched and the screen does better with gloves than bare fingers.
I mapped our 6,000 mile motor vacation by days and loaded them all into the unit before we left. Worked perfectly. I had hoped to be able to download the tracks and data but it must have been too much for it to handle so I was only able to track the last 4 days.
I like to see elevations in the mountains and set one of the screen data points to display it however, it will not display greater than four digits. Above 10,000 feet you get nothing so some of the passes wouldn't read.
Another annoying feature is the speed changes color to red if you exceed the posted limit or the limit showing on the screen. It is impossible to read in red, wish it would just stay white. Interstate speeds have been raised to 75, and some higher, here in Texas.
I like the quick release feature so I can take it with me easily. I am nervous that someone would grab mine like they did Glenn07's. At $800 that is a heavy hit!.

This is my second dual pack, I now have 4 units and the first generation works great with the new ones. In 2012 a buddy and I rode 6,000 miles on a two week vacation and stayed in contact the entire time. They did work at over a half kilometer. We discovered that Bluetooth is line-of-sight and rounding a corner on a shear cliff would lose the connection. It reestablished the connection as soon as the other unit was in sight. My unit is paired with my Garmin Zumo 665 and my iPhone so I get calls as needed, listen to XM radio, navigation and intercom. A really cool feature is the conference mode where all 4 of us can be in communication at the same time. It does get on my nerves listening to the chatter from the wives. It is great though where my buddy and I can have communication and the wives can have theirs. The units are great on club rides where lead and drag can stay in contact if someone has trouble we don't run off and leave them.
I got away from the speakers and went to the earbud receiver and use S Plugs that I push into the ear canal. It keeps the wind noise out, helps my ears to equalize up and down the mountains and reduces the volume that is needed. No more road or wind noise. Wind noise is sometimes picked up by the microphone in a full face helmet.
We ran the units almost non stop for 10-12 hours in a day without having to charge them. Very good battery life!

I bought a pair of units pre firmware update generation and have used them for about a year. Both clamp kits have broken and have had to be replaced. Don't tighten them just snug them, the curvature of most helmets is not manufactured into the clamp unit. Sound is another issue. Volune will not increase enough for music devices to overcome wind noise and speakers must be placed precicely for the sound to make it to your ear. Multiple tries will be necessary to get the adjustment correct and when the intercom comes through it may blast you out. Works well with my iPhone and the range is great! My buddy and I can get separated by a good distance
