My biggest complaints about last year's FX-37 were that it distorted vision and that it was lacking in adequate air flow. Both of these concerns were addressed with the FX-39! The FX-39 has no distortion and the venting is everywhere and actually works! My first ride in this helmet was about 5 miles of class 4 unmaintained roads and the helmet stayed snug on my head through the bumps and no fogging, even though it was a rainy day. I am very pleased with this helmet!
Yes, I recommend this product.

If my head measures 59.5 cm, do I get a medium or large sized AFX FX-39DS?

My head measures 59-60cm and I was hoping that the Medium would fit me. Alas, no...it was too tight. I exchanged it for a Large and it fits really well.

What are the Pros and cons of a matte black finish on the AFX FX-39? Is it true matte black is harder to keep clean and blemishes easier?

I don't really care if my helmet gets dirty, but I haven't had any trouble cleaning the matte black finish. It still looks like new after 300 miles.
