These riding shoes seemed to fit the bill from everything I read. I didn't jump to judgment and gave them a good 2-3 weeks of riding before I made up my mind.
These are not very comfortable, and are very stiff. Even after they broke in, they were still very stiff and very uncomfortable. They are also pretty bulky. I found myself fumbling around the shifter too often when changing gears.
I've since stopped wearing them, forgoing the protection for your basic street shoe. I'm back on the market looking for a new riding shoe.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This shield is amazing. First it eliminates the need to carry an extra shield on long rides that may take you into some night time hours. Second it transitions in the blink of an eye. Easy to clean, doesn't fog up, there is nothing negative about this shield at all.
Yes, I recommend this product.

The PUMA Testastretta II Mid mixes the essence of PUMA and moto performance into a street-ready style. The Testastretta II Mid takes performance elements from the MotoGP, using the looks of the vamp shiftguard, slider, heel counter and separate aluminum heel to bring authenticity to this moto trainer. It also has a synthetic upper, injected EVA midsole for cushioning and an oil-resistant, non-slip rubber sole. Whether you're on a bike or on foot, this shoe is all about the motorsport lifestyle.

Can you actually wear these as riding boots?

I've read on other sites that these aren't necessarily riding boots, but are instead just "shoes" not intended for riding. Thanks in advance for your response!
These are definitely riding shoes. Very rigid, built in ankle protection, and shifter grips. These are not racing boots, they are just a riding shoe and that might be where the confusion is at. People tend to expect more from products than what that product actually is.
