I bought this helmet based on reviews like this. First let me say--I felt Shoei wanted to make a comfortable helmet that was quieter than the previous helmet line the Qwest replaced. This helmet does those two things extremely well--for my helmet shape.
I just wore it for one week straight on a recent trip. I had the helmet on an average of 10 hours a day and never got a hot spot--and this was the break in period. Very good.
Also--the helmet is noticeably quiet--as advertised.
My one complaint would be air flow--but it is minor. I wear glasses and I found I had to crack the visor at speeds under ~40 MPH to keep my glasses from fogging. At a dead stop--I had to raise the visor in most cases.
But the helmet hits its sweet spot at 40MPH plus. The fogging problems and helmet air flow issues do disappear at this speed and above. And for this to be the only complaint for what is essentially a mid-priced helmet (<$350)--is quite a feat.
Well done Shoei.
