Arai Vector 2 Helmet The Arai Vector 2 Helmet is the successor to Arai's hugely popular Vector model. Features for the Arai Vector 2 Helmet include an SAI face shield which provides a wider field of vision. A replaceable interior liner has been modified to improve air flow around the head and to provide a more comfortable fit eliminating pressure points. The ventilation system has been revamped with a larger size switch and larger rear duct which will create 50 more vacuum. The Arai Vector 2 has been created for the rider who doesn't need bells and whistles, but still demands a finely crafted and protective helmet. Features: Complex Laminate Construction (CLC) shell that combines excellent shell integrity with light weight Arai's exclusive multi-density, single piece hybrid EPS liner Arai's multi-density EPS liner is like no other, comprised of up to 5 different densities in some models which is molded into a single piece The single-piece hybrid liner and its unique benefit: the direct-fused contact area that each EPS call shares with its neighboring cells creates a mutual support - as one cell is crushed under impact, the surrounding cells assist with the energy absorption. (Liner pieces that are simply fitted or glued together cannot rely on such a high-level support bond.) ACF-2 front intake vent has an oversized intake opening for better airflow, and a sliding-door mechanism to more completely close it Brow Vent Face Shield Ventilation System provides cooling air in upper face area without holes in critical forehead area of the shell or in the impact-absorbing liner material Extreme peripheral view - same wider field of side to side visibility as the Corsair V racing helmet (an additional 5mm on each side when compared to to previous Vector model) Tuned rear vent/wing - Air inlets provide improved interior ventilation and heat removal Hyper-Ridge band - newly sculpted lower reinforcement band provides stability and lower center of gravity for a lightweight feeling. Larger side exhaust ports to increase airflow and minimize noise Dual pivot chin vent to direct air to the rider or the shield for de-misting Reinforced shell ridges with integrated side exhaust vents Larger bottom opening for easier on and off Removable/replaceable cheek pads with 5mm peel-away layer 5mm peel away temple pads Meets or exceeds Snell M2015 and DOT standards Note: Frost indicates a Matte finish while Diamond refers to a metallic finish with metal flake.

This helmet gets a lot of great reviews and I think the quality overall is good although the vent sliders are somewhat flimsy. I have a some issues with the helmet, though. First, there is no cover/padding around the D-ring and the strap cuts into my throat, leaving some deep marks after a while. I will fix this by using a cover from another helmet. Second, there is no chin skirt, making the helmet annoyingly loud and extremely drafty. I retrofitted a chin skirt using one from my old Scorpion helmet with some minor modification. Third, I had to buy smaller cheek pads to make the helmet fit snugly enough. The cut-outs for the ears are so far in the back that one has to wonder if there is a person in existence who has ears placed in that spot. The result is a lot of pressure on my ears from the pads, which hurts and leaves them red all over. I cut some foam away to fit my ears better but the pressure is still too much. Fourth, like others have said, pressure points on my forehead will develop after wearing it on the bike for about 2 hours. Honestly, I expect more from an expensive helmet like this and I certainly don't want to come up with fixes that would be easy and cheap to include like the strap padding and the chin skirt. The poor fit could just be an issue of my head shape. I now have an expensive helmet that I can only use for short trips and I will use my much cheaper Scorpion for longer trips. It has all the missing features and fits me much better.

The Cage has more airflow than the SF jacket due to the fabric panels and I wear it mostly in warmer weather. It's tight but I can still wear a warmer layer underneath. The reflective stripes are subtle and integrated but greatly increase visibility at night. I added a BMW NP back protector meant to be for the BMW air shell jacket, which fits perfectly. I only needed to trim it about 1" at the bottom. Improvements could be a better fit at the collar (there is some pressure against the neck), adjustable hip straps like the men's version has, instead of the zippers, and chest protectors. Because of the slightly flared shape at the bottom and the lack of hip straps, there is is always some extra leather sticking out in the front and back when seated, which is even more pronounced in the SF jacket. I wish Dainese would make less flared women's jackets as well.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I almost always wear these underneath my riding pants so they won't stick. Much more comfortable this way and also much better when it is hot. The wicking fabric keeps the moisture and regulates the temperature. Perfect fit, too.

This jacket is more of a fashion statement for the occasional scooter ride rather than for serious riding due to the very thin and soft leather. True, it's better than no protection at all but it is really not a motorcycle jacket.

I bought his jacket because it was only one I could find that has really good and bright reflective stripes/ logos. There are stripes down the sleeves, a large logo on the back, and two smaller logos on the upper arms. Brighter than anything else I have seen. Fit is pretty tight which means the number of layers one can wear underneath is pretty limited. So it is not really a touring jacket but more suitable for those one day trips. The bubble layer works... I have never been cold even in the 40s. No ventilation but the leather is perforated along the sleeves. A long zipper connects to any Dainese pants. I upgraded it with a customized (i.e. cut down) SasTec back protector. The only issue I had with this jacket is that the some of the seams opened up and got repaired. I hope it was just a "lemon" I got and not a general quality issue with Dainese.

I bought this helmet a while ago when I needed one with not much time to look around. It was the only one that matched my head shape. Weight is average and the air pump feature is nice. The faceshield is a bit thin and the gap in the first position is too big for my taste. The handle that locks the faceshield is flimsy as well but hasn't broken yet. The fabric of the liner feels very "poly" (and is smelly when new) but can be replaced which is a great feature. My liner has settled enough that I am going to order a replacement in one size smaller. Sunglasses easily fit and noise is average. The various ventilation sliders don't make a big difference. Something to consider is the Snell 2005 certification which, according to some expert opinions, is not the best option for small sizes in particular. The new Snell 2010 is more in sync the the ECE test criteria for small sizes. Finish is good and I like the retro style.

When I tried the jacket it felt like a men's just labeled as a women's: super wide shoulders, sleeves too long, v-shape from shoulders to waist with way too much material left under the arms and on the back. I bought the jacket according to the sizing guide and never had such fit issues with other brands. I wanted a loose fit but not so loose that even the protectors are not in a right place. I don't think even the smallest size will fit me because it hasn't a women-specific cut (I am 5'5" and not particularly skinny). The leather is just o.k. and a little stiff, at least when new. It is treated with some coating (polyethurane? silicone?), which makes it more water resistant but also a little smelly out the box. The leather of the old FG jackets was much better. The features of the jacket, however, are great. A lot of pockets, thought-out details (vents, fleece collar, snaps for layer, double leather at impact zones), neat seams, good zippers, and a thermo-layer that really keeps you warm. Reflector striping is on the front, back, and arms, and the wrist buttons reflect too. The back protector is small and useless (foam) and it is probably difficult to find an upgrade because of the shape. Overall, I can only recommend this jacket if your body shape is close to a men's (=wide shoulders) and you need plenty of room. Good price point but I guess you pay for all the features and not necessarily for the leather quality. The jacket is made in China.

The Siren is my only jacket and I have been riding in it for over a year. I use it on regular trips and longer tours and never had any issues with it. The ventilation is great in the heat while the jacket is warm enough in damper and colder weather. In about 34 degrees I had to wear another fleece underneath but generally, any combination of the rain and thermo layer offers enough weather protection including rain. I tried many jackets before I settled on this one because it had the best fit and looks. Details are well thought-out. I upgraded it with a Forcefield level 1 back protector, the level 2 was a little too bulky for the size 38 jacket. The only improvements could be more reflective striping (the striping used is visible but not as reflective as scotchlite), better protectors (upgradable, though), and a long zipper to connect to pants (only has the short zipper). I also have the Revit Mistral pants which the jacket easily connects to.
