This works about like I expected it would. Puzzlingly, there does seem to be a few drops of water on the bike when I take the cover off. I don't know if this is condensation, or if it's seeping through the fabric, or if I'm just getting some drops on the bike as I take the cover off, or what, but it's not a big deal. We've been getting some MONSTER rain storms this spring and I've been really glad I bought this. By and large, it's doing its job pretty well.

These pants were literally the ONLY potential option we could find for off-the-peg pants for my 5'1" tall, long-torso'd, short-legged wife. It was going to be these or custom-made pants. We worked with Revzilla Customer Service on the phone to get the right waist size in the "short" sizing, and even though there's still ~1.5" of extra fabric at the ankle, the armor sits in just the right place and that's what matters, so for half the price of custom pants, we'll take em! My wife would have preferred that these were mesh with liners, like the Tornado pants, but the Venturas were the only pants available in short sizes when we ordered. Aside from the extra fabric, which we knew was going to happen, the fit is comfortable and true to the sizing chart. Airflow is a bit less than she might like, but they're not a mesh pant. She looks good in 'em too. If you've got an unusually sized body, the short, normal and long sizing of these pants could be a Godsend.

Held Steve 2 Gloves
The new for 2010 Held Steve 2 Glove is a sport-touring glove with a full set of race-tested features. Held has given an old favorite a new look, updates include a gray Kangaroo leather palm. Safety features include metal stud sliders on the heel of the hand, backed up with a Kevlar and Nomex for heat protection and Suprotect padding on the back of the hand. Plus, the Held built in visor wiper on the left forefinger. While this glove is not 100 waterproof, with the waterproof backing it is fair to say the glove is weather resistant Palm in colourfast and sweat-resistant kangaroo leather, 80 stronger than cowhide when measured by abrasion resistance and tear strength. Fingers pre-formed, special step seam gives maximum feel to the hands Rivets underlayed with Kevlar branded fiber and NOMEX for heat protection Velcro adjustment at wrist and cuff PITTARDS special treated leather back (shrinkproof, windproof, waterproof, breathable) with shock-absorbent special SUPROTECT padding Schoeller-DYNATEC reflex and carbon protection at wrist

I borrowed a pair of the original Steves to try out before I bought these, which is what turned me on to the Kangaroo leather palms on these gloves. It really is the best palm feel of any gloves I've tried. That said, these gloves are pricey, and aren't quite "perfect". There seems to be a bit of extra material in the palm that can bunch up at the "heel" of my hand sometimes. I'm expecting it to shrink up a bit after it gets wet, but I'm not running out to deliberately get them wet. It'll probably happen soon enough, as my hands sweat (virtually no airflow with these.) I tried the next size down, but couldn't even get them on, so I'm in the right size. These gloves don't have a bunch of exposed hard armor on them, but still feel pretty tough. In a recent lowside, the palm rivet design proved itself by taking virtually ALL the punishment with the rest of the glove practically untouched. All in all, I have mixed feelings -- on the one hand I wouldn't want to give up the Kangaroo leather palm feel, but I'm also far from declaring this glove to be perfect, especially for the price.

I bought this jacket with the matching pants and have been pretty happy so far. I've been using it primarily with the liner out, and the airflow has been good. Although the pants took the brunt of it, the elbow armor also did it's job in a recent lowside, and the jacket is pretty well good-as-new, so it's got durability too. Airflow is very comfortable in warm weather. Haven't had a chance to try it with the liner in, but that probably won't come for a few months.
The fit is true to its size chart, but is a bit fuller/larger than other Rev'it products (I tried an Air jacket as well), so remeasure yourself and check the specific size chart for this jacket before ordering. The guys in customer service were very helpful in talking out exactly which size was going to fit, and got it right on the first try.

Sad to say that I've already had a chance to put these pants to the test in an accident. The armor was EXACTLY where it needed to be (hip and knee) and surely saved me a trip to the hospital had I been wearing jeans. What's even better is that the pants are still quite wearable. I should probably stitch a patch onto the knee at some point, but they are largely intact -- just a one inch line along one of the seams was torn/abraded. Overall very happy! I haven't had a chance to try these in cold weather yet, so I can't comment on waterproofness or warmth, but as far as the outers go, it's a big thumbs up. True to size chart. FWIW, I also got the Tornado jacket, and felt that having both in silver made me look a little bit "PowerRanger-ish" so I traded in the silver pants for black. The silver jacket + black pants combo looks pretty good to me.

Can this be worn as a stand alone pant without the lining?
Yes. I have been wearing these with the liner out as over-pants over jeans. All the armor sits where it should and the airflow is pretty good. They also fit right for me with shorts on underneath, although I feel a bit weird, since you can kinda see through the mesh. That said, whether the armor will sit right with shorts (or I suppose just underwear) underneath probably depends on the build of your legs and your riding posture. I think it's save to say that if you size them right, they should definitely work over jeans with the liners out. Overall I've been really happy with these (and the matching jacket.)
