Love these, you won't beat the protection vs the weight and comfort. And at the end of the day that's what it all comes down to. The only intersecting variable is cost.
These are on the higher end of cost, significantly so if you're comparing $20 kneepads. Those will do the job, but with less protection vs comfort.
These provide maximum protection and comfort at a premium, which is worth it to many. Especially if you ride enough.
Been a big fan of forcefield for years, glad to see more stateside product support.
Had to exchange these for a Large after the sizing chart recommended a Medium. My legs are athletic but not large by any means. Mediums were at the edge of their stretch and I'm sure once you got riding in the heat with a little pump they wouldn't have been very uncomfortable. Large were perfect and will stay nicely in place.
