The jacket definitely fits a bit large. I've never worn a mens medium in anything since Junior High and now that I'm more middle-aged with an expanding middle, I'm usually between a Large and an XL in shirts, hoodies, and jackets. This is one of the only jackets I've tried that has more of an "american" cut, vs. the tall skinny model of most motorcycle wear.
I really wish Firstgear didn't equate to gear for beginners. I'd really like to buy a more refined version of this jacket even if paying more to do so. What isn't apparent in the product photos is the cuff closure. It's just single snap that bunches up the sleeve. The grey wedge is just a different color, it's not a pleat. It would be much nicer and better interface with different gloves if it had a zipper or something. there also isn't a lot to keep the sleeve from shifting around as there's no adjustments/straps by the elbows. My biggest disappointment with this jacket is the back protector. Firstgear used to say you could put in an upgraded back pad/spine protector, but no-one makes a small enough pad. It appears the description here and on their site has been updated now. I really wish it offered better back protection.
The liner, the pockets, pretty much everything else about the jacket is great. It's a good jacket with a great fit and if they make a version 2.0 of it, I'll buy another.

First, the gold mirrored shield is only going to appear gold under certain light, Where it's directly reflecting appears gold, while everywhere else takes on a blue color. It's impossible to get the shield perfectly cleaned and buffed so the mirroring appears consistent. It reminds me more of an oily puddle than a true mirrored finish. Looking through the lens, I'm not sure if the plastic is a bit uneven or if it's due to the stretched coating, but I think the unevenness is responsible for a small bit of distortion. For the price isn't not a bad deal and it's certainly better than the previous generation of DS helmets.
The AFX FX-39 shields are 100% interchangeable with the Fly Trekker and a much better quality, They are a bit more expensive, but my silver mirrored shield has a perfectly even coating, easy cleaning, and less distortion than this gold Fly one I bought. The silver AFX shield doesn't have any blue-ness to it either.
The shields themselves aren't hard to change, however the little plastic pivot kit is very hard to swap between shields. I would strongly recommend buying a pivot kit for any new shield, then all you need to swap in the future is a quarter (fits/works better than any screwdriver on the metal and plastic screws).

The helmet has a few small issues, I think the visor rubs against the shield in the upper back corners, not that it will ever be in my field of view. The chin strap is ridiculously long, like it was meant to be used without the quick-release (not possible). The notched shield positioning is kind of clunky, I've used other hybrid helmets that just had a smooth/friction means of holding up the shield, and it was easier to fine tune protection vs. extra ventilation. You also can't just flip the shield down 1-fingered and get a good seal/fit, it's easy enough to do 2 hands and possible with 1 hand. The open/close vents feel a bit cheap, I'm typically a fair weather rider, so I haven't seen any point in having them yet... when I get stuck out in the rain and forget to close them, I may change my tune. Lastly, I wish the helmet had the full SNELL rating as well as being DOT & ECE approved.
All that being said, it's an awesome helmet, especially for the price ! It looks awesome ! if you're familiar with the Halo video games, you might think AFX straight up stole the design, I'd give anything to be able to order it with a reflective face shield ! Once you've ridden your dual sport with a hybrid helmet like this, you'll never go back to an MX & goggle setup !
The quick release is a feature I wouldn't have thought to look for, but so far it's been really convenient. The fit's pretty good, I have a big noggin and with brands like fox or joe rocket, I wear an XL, in this helmet the L is perfect, with a tiny bit of room to spare.
If AFX updates the helmet again next year and makes the same sort of leaps in quality and features they did between the FX-37 and the FX-39, I will definitely upgrade again ! One of my brothers has already ordered 1 for himself and I suspect the rest of my family will do the same. I love the helmet and am very happy with the purchase, it's an insane deal for the price, but I think AFX could make it better and I wouldn't mind paying a bit more.

Nothing to complain about. These are just a basic summer glove, light knuckle protection, but that's what hand-guards are for. Some decent padding in the palm. I bought mine on sale, at the price Revzilla is selling them for, they're a great deal.
