I am a Shoei man. I bought this helmet to go along with a red white and blue themed costume I will wear on my red white and blue bike.
It is good quality for the price, but certainly not in the Shoei arena.
If you are dollar constrained, it is a good helmet.

I absolutely love these boots. I ride most days, and these are now my go to boots, unless it is going to rain. I have Sidi rain boots for that.
But I also wear these as my every day shoes. They are so comfortable and look bad donkey. I can not recommend these enough.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet Evolving on previous designs, Shoei has revamped its modular helmet style with a streamlined and attractively sculpted shape that conveys the feel of freely moving through the outdoors in the Shoei Neotec Modular Helmet. Overall shell size is kept compact by incorporating the internal sun visors open/close mechanism inside all ventilation mechanisms are shaped and positioned in such a way as to reduce any possible drag. A redesigned aerodynamic spoiler also helps to cut lift, reducing neck strain on long, cross country rides. In the Shoei Neotec all these features combine to create a premium helmet that excels in appearance, protection, comfort and performance. The Shoei Neotec Helmets chin bar is connected to the same axis point and mechanism as its shield, minimizing extra parts. This also enables simultaneous closing of the shield with the chin bar, which is then held in place with an easy-open lock release button. The shield lock system offers secure closure or the ability to keep the shield slightly open to allow for increased airflow. With the Shoei Neotec Helmet, Shoei now includes a built-in sun shield, the QSV-1. The visor tucks neatly away beneath a non-intrusive shell built into the helmets liner, and can be lowered with the easy control of a sliding button. Shoei Neotec Helmet Features Face Shield Features Easily operable lever mechanism Anti-fog, anti-scratch, 99 UV blocking New Pinlock-ready CNS-1 faceshield Wider and taller than the CX-1V that it replaces Includes Pinlock insert 3D injection molding process ensures a distortion-free view Improved Ventilation and Aerodynamics Newly designed vortex generators pull air through helmet 276 more airflow than Multitec Added inlets and outlets Vents are flush against helmet to maintain aerodynamics 5-Ply Shock-Absorbing Fiber Shell 3 shell sizes AIM Multi-Composite construction Lightweight yet strong Shell-integrated spoiler reduces lift and drag during high-speed riding Dual EPS Liner Multi-density EPS for optimal protection Two vents funnel fresh air through the EPS liner Dual liner channels route and disperse air evenly throughout the helmet EPS liner in chin bar All new interior Fully removable 3D interior liner Top center pad is removable and washable Improved cheekpad design allows better fit with eyeglasses Included chin curtain can be inserted into the chin bar to reduce turbulence and noise All Neotec Helmets sold in the US have a double D-ring closure Be sure to check out our Shoei Neotec Review above, in which we detail and break down all of the features and functionality of the brand new Shoei Neotec Helmet. I am a Shoei wearer and have been for 20+ years.
I recently changed from sportbikes to a sport tourer (Concours 14). With that change, came the desire to wear a modular. I want full face protection when I am ripping around, but when just puttering down the road, there is a certain appeal to an open faced design.
I tried a Multi-tec and was frankly disappointed with the feel of the helmet. It felt loosely built and did not inspire confidence. I owned it for 1 day and never rode with it.
When the Neo-tec was introduced, I was immediately intrigued. once I had one in my hand and on my head, I was sold.
The Neo-tec feels solid. None of the rattly feeling of the Multi-tec.
It fits like a Shoei, so that is great for me. I have worn an XL Shoei for 20 years and this helmet is the same size.
The drop down fighter pilot shade is a great feature. I often use this with the chin bar in the up position.
It is as quiet, if not quieter than my Qwest. It is actually extremely quiet with the chin bar in the up position.
Mounted my SMH 10 without an issue.
Fully removable liner is a great feature.
Overall, very happy with this lid.

I have always worn Shoei lids. Bought this one last year. Overall very comfortable. Good, but not great airflow. Nice wide field of vision. Overall, a very good helmet.
As to price? I always buy Shoei, so the price is not an issue for me. I put protection above price and Shoei is one of the best, and it fits me best, so Shoei it is.

I am a fan of Olympia gear.
I have met the owners twice and own two full sets of their gear.
These are my summer pants. They are comfortable and breathe very well. The are well built and the ability to hem the pants without messing with the zippers is great for those of us who are wide of butt, and shorter of leg.

I am a big fan of Olympia gear.
I have these pants and have ridden with them in weather from 25 to 85 degrees, and was comfortable. Less so at the extremes, but the ability to open vents, etc, makes a big difference.
The ability to hem the pants without messing with the zippers is a huge advantage for someone under-tall like myself. I am not short, at 5'10", but at 250 lbs, I am big of waist.

I love my SMH10. I have it paired with my GPS and phone, along with my GF on her bike with her SMH10.
Range is very good, approximately .5 miles LOS and about .25 miles with obstructions.
Sound is excellent, given the size of the speakers. I, personally, cannot crank the volume all the way up, as that would be way too loud.
When making or receiving phone calls on the unit, people can not tell I am on my bike.
One of the most important points, for me, is the bike to bike communications. My GF just started riding this year. I can tell you from experience that riding with a new rider can be tough, as you are looking out for them, trying to communicate road hazards, awareness situations, etc. With this unit, since you are in constant voice contact, those worries are greatly diminished. It made teaching her how to deal with real world scenarios very easy. No more crazy confusing hand gestures, with the new rider trying to figure out what you are indicating, while trying to ride their bike. Invaluable to me.
She is now a competent rider and we use the bike to bike to chat while putting down miles. It is great.
Talked my friend into one of these. He was of the "I will plug my IPOD in, put the buds in my ears and be fine" opinion. He rode with his new SMH 10 for one morning and he too, would now not want to ride without one.
Charge time is very fast, maybe 2 hours. On those two hours, I get 10+ hours of bike to bike and music. I have not yet run out of juice with this unit, and there have been many 12+ hour riding days.
Would not ride without one.
