My only issue is a slight one with the sizing. The general fit is fine but the thumb is a little short. I have a Medium hand with Large (length) fingers, and I ordered the large gloves. Once I fiddled with them a bit and they stretched I have stopped noticing the issue.
Aside from that, they are brilliant. Solid, protective, flow a ton of air, grip well, reasonable feel through the palms (compared to Dainese full metal pro gloves.. So probably very good feel compared to a normal glove).

Sizing: 6' tall, 175lbs (78kg) fairly slim athletic build - bought the medium as with all other ICON jackets - perfect size.
Does exactly what it says. Full mesh constriction with surprisingly reinforced elbows (more padding on top of the armour - bonus). ICON's armour is brilliant, large and strong (I find the shoulders come down on the sides more than most premium brands).
The only discrepancy I can pick is that in the photo the white jacket has red ICON letters, but the ones on my jacket are grey - no biggie really.
I'm confident in the mesh construction too - I wouldn't buy this for smashing the twisties in as it might come unstuck in a big slide, but for getting around town, it feels more than up to the task.

Starting with sizing, I wear a 10.5 in Nike's and I ordered the 10.5 in these boots. There is room to move in these boots (I also have narrow feet) but to be honest the strap and laces combined with the solid structure lock my foot in so I don't notice the room at all.
Aside from this, they do everything they promise. Solid construction, and quite reasonable to walk around in - I always wear them when I don't wish to rock up somewhere with big old motorcycle boots on.
I was surprised at how much air they flow as well, my feet keep quite cool in them.

Very happy with this product. Mesh that flows a ton of air, and stronger nylon panels on the impact areas. Knee armour stays in place quite well for an overpant. Being an overpant, they are quite baggy and sized to be large. I wear a 32 in Draggin Jeans and a 34 in most brands of jeans - I ordered a 34 in these but could have easily gone with a 32 as I tighten the sides up quite a bit. For that price I would be surprised if there was anything better out there for this purpose.

First of all, I found this in Revzilla's winter gear guide. If you live anywhere where winter gets below 'cool' then THIS IS NOT A WINTER JACKET! It has alot of mesh and ventilation with only a thin thermal liner to back it up in cooler weather. Without a neck sock, air just gets down the collar and goes everywhere.
Apart from that, the fit is good, it is of very solid construction, the armour is placed well and it has great styling for a relativley plain jacket.
Another solid ICON product.

Im a size 32 in jeans and I ordered the medium. Fit is perfect, and plenty of adjustability with the waist straps. They are comfortably form fitting (I'm fairly slim/athletic) with both liners in but the armour stays in place just fine without the liners. Very solid.
These are also very warm pants. I can ride around in cold weather quite comfortably with no liners in, so there is plenty in reserve. I have worn them on a cold day in light/medium rain and the waterproof liner held up well. Didn't even have the thermal liner in and I was quite comfortable.
Some of the reviews say the ventilation works well in summer, but I guess this depends on how closely they fit the leg and what type of bike you ride. On a fully faired sports bike (all tucked up) the ventilation doesn't work much if at all. I had the vents undone whilst walking around the house and didn't notice they were open when riding around in cold weather. On a tourer/cruiser however I guess it could be adequate for hot weather.
And for the price, I think you cant go past them if you're looking for a good set of winter pants.

Looks wise, its amazing. The chrome really shines and the whole helmet is sharp.
The fit is slightly small. It fits almost the same as my small Shoei.
The airflow is amazing and plentiful, it has a suprising low level of buffeting (even compared to my Shoei), and the liner is quite comfortable. The helmets features feel reasonably solid for a helmet of this price range, in my experience more expensive ones have the little details like a solid feeling chinstrap etc. The only feature that isn't so great is the visor clip on system, but once youre used to it it's not so bad.
Also, I dont know how they do it, but the anti-fog system deserves special mention. I'm used to having to buy attachments etc to keep the fog away but this helmet just does it. Somehow.
Get the right size and you can't go wrong with this bad boy. I look forward to crashing in it.

So for the guts of the review: After riding around in 40 degree weather for about 30 minutes these held up well. My hands were cool/cold, but not really to the point where I began to lose any dexterity, and they would warm up again quite quickly when I was stopped at the lights. I wasnt wearing the warmest gear either, and my hands weren't warm to start with as well, so if youre pairing these with a good jacket they will perform even better. Combining these with a simple glove liner would make a pretty mean combination. The glove is gore-tex lined and insulated with primaloft one (which is primaloft's warmest synthetic insulator) so you probably won't find a warmer glove out there that isn't heated.
Fit wise, I find they are quite snug. I have a pair of Dainese Full Metal Pro racing gloves in the same size (L) and the racing gloves have quite alot more room in the wrist and around the hand. Finger length is about the same. That being said, I can fit a glove liner underneath the Scout's without any discomfort at all.
Feature and protection wise, I haven't crashed in them or worn them in the rain, but as winter gloves go they have good protective features and they are gore-tex lined so no water will get in. Protection wise, they don't have armour on the back of the hand or on the wrist like the race gloves, but they do have some thick padding in these areas and alot of winter gloves don't anyway.
In terms of grip and feel they cant compare with racing gloves for obvious reasons. They do slide over the grips a bit and they are (obviously) thicker and prone to bunching a little. But you're buying a winter glove, and I got used to it very quickly, so these are probably as good as it gets.
A little pricy, but heck its Dainese. What do you expect.
Worth the money in my opinion and I'm very happy and confident these will last me through the 20-25 degree range for half an hour or so (with a liner). If these aren't warm enough, in my experience you should stop looking at gloves and start looking at heated grips.

My biggest issue with this glove is the fit. I had another pair of race gloves in M and they were a tight fit that stretched out to be fine, but were simply too short in the fingers by miles in the upright position on a supersport. I have the L size in the full metal pro and the finger length is fine, but the rest of the glove is large on me. I have noted that the general consensus is that these gloves are too tight in the wrist, but I must have thinner hands with long fingers because this glove doesnt tighten quite as much as I would like accross the wrist. At least I know I can put an underglove in there, but I think the glove needs more adjustability accross the wrist strap. The suprisingly effective solution for this is to tighten the wrist sinch and then just stick the velcro to the patch below it for the wrap around. That solves the problem just fine.
Aside from that, it is a very solid glove. My only observation is that it doesn't have a full wrist slider like you see on other top of the line gloves, however it does have that (i think its carbon fibre and TPU) plate on the outside of the wrist to protect the bone. Personally I don't like having the full wrist slider anyway. The protection accross the knuckles and back of the hand is incredible, these things should be classed as weapons, and they have essentially done all they can to protect the pinky without going as far as binding the 3rd and 4th fingers together which I dislike.
Overall: Decent fit if youre a little leaner (room for an underglove), good features, very comfortable and stylish

Resistance to road rash
I like the Icon jacket, but I'm concerned about the material it's made of. All the specifications say, is "durable nylon" on the shell. Many jackets will say something like "600 denier" , or even "Cordura"....to show that the material is resistant to abrasion....."durable nylon" doesn't tell me much, and I wonder if it is going to melt if I end up sliding on the pavement.

I own the contra and it is heavier than any textile jacket I have seen around the shoulders and elbows. Stitched together quite well too. Go to the Ride Icon website and read some of the survivor stories, there's some pretty big slides in there with not a lot to show on the jackets.
Mind you, by getting textile you are sacrificing something (usually) rather than choosing leather. But I trust this jacket to hold up for sure.

Are these jackets machine washable?
I'll be using this jacket for commuting if I buy it. I'm interested in the white because it is more visible, but I am worried about how it will show grime and dirt. Are you able to wash the outer shell?
Yeah mate, I have this jacket and its basically hand wash cold, after removing the armour and liner etc. I cant say if it will stain but I don't imagine textile or mesh will stain too badly. I have one of their mesh jackets in white and It hasn't given me any issues.

need help with size please
im 6'4" 170 lbs, i have a hard time finding any jacket slim enough and still long enough, both at the wasit and in the sleeves, looking for something around $200 that can go to about 30 degrees??? please help
Mate I would ring them or send a direct email for something that specific. I own one of these (the contra) and I can tell you it will NOT last you down to 30F. Wind gets into that thing everywhere and the liner isn't that thick at all. It's in their winter guide but not for a real winter haha.

I'm a little confused by the White color. Are the Icon logos red or grey? In some photos they appear to be grey(front) and others red(back).
Mine arrived with grey letters. Revzilla *might* have two different types.

What Size?
There seems to be no real clear chart on sizing for these. I have a 34 waist and about a 34 inseam. Would I go with a large? Also, would these pants work good as overpants, or are they meant to wear as pants alone?

They fit me perfectly, and I still tighten up the sides a little after putting on some ICON stryker shorts, so you probably wont go wrong with a medium from the sounds of it. I don't know my inseam but I'm 6' with a fairly slim athletic build.
Regarding the use as overpants, you probably could fit a pair of jeans under there if you have the liners out as they come with two seperate liners. Might be worth the large however if you plan on squeezing liners and jeans in there.

They fit me perfectly, and I still tighten up the sides a little after putting on some ICON stryker shorts, so you probably wont go wrong with a medium from the sounds of it. I don't know my inseam but I'm 6' with a fairly slim athletic build.
Regarding the use as overpants, you probably could fit a pair of jeans under there if you have the liners out as they come with two seperate liners. Might be worth the large however if you plan on squeezing liners and jeans in there.

I own the mesh pants so I cannot comment directly on how hot the textiles are, however I do own other textile riding pants and you will find that nylon just doesn't breathe or let any air in. I understand the textile pants have some lighter panels for venting, but you will probably sweat a bit in them during really hot weather as textile panels won't flow much, if air through them.
Also depends on where you will wear them - just on the bike or if you plan to be walking around in them a fair bit. From experience, standing and walking around in textile pants on a hot day is terrible. On a bike though, enough air should get through the panels to make it bearable.
Regarding the protection - inevitably, you do sacrifice some protection when choosing mesh over textile, however it really depends on their intended use. If you are just using them for commuting around and wont be hitting anything over 60 most of the time, they should hold up quite well. I trust that ICON doesn't produce rubbish so I feel fine getting around in the mesh pants with shorts underneath at lower speeds.

CE Shock protection Shoulder and elbow protection kit for certains mens Dainese jackets
Does the Dainese logo on the shoulder protector go to the front or back.
I am putting these in my Zentex jacket. Don't remember which way they should be positioned.
Front mate. I've got the Greyhound jacket and that's how they came. Probably doesn't make a huge difference anyway.

what do I need to buy to use the pinloc system on my Shoei Hornet?
The pinloc website says the system consists of a pinloc prepared lens and a pinloc lens. I only see the pinloc lens when I ran a search on your site. Where do I get the pinlock prepared Shoei Hornet lens? I guess I need to get two lenses? the pinloc lens and the other to mount it on?
Presuming your current face shield doesnt have the pinlocks on it (two black notch things on the peripheries of the shield) you will need:

Resistance to road rash
I like the Icon jacket, but I'm concerned about the material it's made of. All the specifications say, is "durable nylon" on the shell. Many jackets will say something like "600 denier" , or even "Cordura"....to show that the material is resistant to abrasion....."durable nylon" doesn't tell me much, and I wonder if it is going to melt if I end up sliding on the pavement.
Not being critical....but want to know what I'm buying.

I own the contra jacket and it seems very tough and the impact areas are reenforced well. Personally I dont second guess it.
Also, try going to www.rideicon.com and having a look at the crash stories in the "Limiter" and the "Survivors" section under the culture heading. Plenty of stories about their gear holding up like a trooper in big slides. Certainly made me trust them.
