I've got a good 12 hours in these gloves thus far.
Pros - Fantastic construction - Rugged w/plenty of protection - Comfortable - Have proven to be waterproof!! - I expect these gloves to last a long time
Cons - Thicker than regular gloves, but that should be expected - I don't believe they remain as warm after the exterior becomes wet. Particularly the index finger! - Finger wipers are a gimmick!
If I were buying the gloves again, I might go with a textile version because I believe the thermal properties are impacted when the exterior becomes wet.
In the mid 40s @ 75MPH after the gloves became wet with rain, some of my fingers became uncomfortably cold. The index finger on the throttle side was the worst (I can tolerate a broad temperature range). Perhaps my expectations are unrealistic, but I thought that mid 40s even in the rain at highway speeds would be do-able.
The fit is small. I usually wear a medium or a BMW 8-8.5 and Revzilla's recommendation of a Large was dead-on.
Overall I am pleased with the gloves. I find myself buying more and more Rev'It! gear.
REV'IT! Tornado Pants The REV'IT! TORNADO trousers combine maximum cooling, through air mesh panels, with abrasion-resistant fabric and CE-approved armor at the knees, to give you ultimate temperature flexibility in adventure touring trousers. Like the REV'IT! TORNADO jacket, the trousers are equipped with the all-new 2-in-1 liners that combine a 100 waterproof membrane with a thermal insulated liner, which are easily zipped out and stowed away for hot weather days. These trousers are so practical and easy to get on and off (with or without liners), thanks to the full length zippers, that you're going to wonder how you ever lived without them. I started riding this past winter (go figure) and as the temperatures have been rising (I live in Virginia), it was clear that I needed some summer riding gear. I've got a 2 piece Aerostich roadcrafter for reference... I love my roadcrafter, but I've got no ventilation around my legs and I get hot and sticky even with all the vents open.
For starters, I e-mailed RevZilla and they sized me perfectly. I ordered a second suit a size smaller to be certain I got the best fit... ordering the extra suit was unnecessary as they were spot on with the sizing.
The fit and styling is nice - much better than my roadcrafter. Zippers and velcro aren't close to being as rugged as my aerostich suit... but that is to be expected given that this is lighter gear. I still feel secure and my impression is that the suit will last many seasons.
If I'm riding at-speed without the liner in 75 degree weather, I am comfortable. If I'm in the shade... I may even get a little chilly at that temperature. It was 93 degrees this weekend and at-speed, I'm still very comfortable. Standing still and stopping for gas can get warm, but I don't think there is any way to get more air and remain protected.
I bought a knox back protector... it does slow some of the air-flow, but the suit remains effective at-speed.
I haven't used the liners yet - I imagine I'll only use them if it starts to rain. If it's raining and 95 degrees outside, I'm not certain I'm going to like the thermal properties... if I'm wearing this suit it's because it is HOT outside.
The finishing touches are outstanding. Everything is where you expect it to be and it's a well crafted outfit. The collar on the jacket is especially nice. The pants fit well and they are relatively easy to put on and remove. Given that it's European gear. the zipper is on the wrong side for a men's jacket.... that's the only thing I could possibly complain about.
I'm pleased with the the suit and would order it again.
