I have narrow heels and what I call flipper feet. I am flat-footed. These boots give me support in my arch, are perfectly snug on my heel and snug in the toe box. In comparison, I own a pair of Vertigo Air boots and they feel like they were made for 'D'-width feet. Both boots are size 11 -Euro 45. A lot of the time I buy 10.5 because most of the time the width is wider for me than I need. These were true to size and I would say they are narrow compared to an American fit, but that suits me just perfectly.
The reason I chose the Sidi Fusion Rain over so many other choices was the fact that the rain barrier goes almost al the way to the top of the boot and is not zipped up with the boot like so many others. To me, it's ridiculous to put a zipper in the rain barrier. That in itself causes leaks.
I tested these by getting caught in a 10 minute Florida downpour on my way to work. My scrub pants were soaked. My socks, feet, and boots were dry! The leather of the boot did not even get heavy or begin to soak. The top inside of the boots was also dry as a bone. No water ran down into the boots at all which surprised the heck out of me! Reason I say this is that I am one of those that have chicken legs. The calves of the boots are not snug on my calves, but then if they were I would say that walking in them would be painful. There has to be some play in the top to let the ankle and toe flex properly without rubbing and causing blisters.
The boots are rather stiff in the toe shift area. They took me two weeks of daily riding to break them in. I still miss upshifts with them on occasion, but the comfort and weather tightness of the boot makes missing a shift here and there a non-issue to me.
After a day on my feet at work in tennis shoes, the Fusion boots are a joy to put on as they give me instant support and actually rejuvenate my feet!
Do I recommend these? OH YEAH! Great bang for the buck and probably a real sleeper in the Sidi lineup. I plan to get the Fusion Air soon as summer rolls around again, but so far I've ridden with the Rain boots in 90F weather and no discomfort whatsoever after a 3 hour ride.

Unit was easy to install on my Bell Star, RS-1, Vortex, and Scorpion EXO-700. Speaker placement is key if you want to get full volume out of music playback. This can mean in some cases that you are blocking the mics with the cheek pads and that's where you hear people saying that they sound a bit muffled but clear to people on the other end of the call. Buttons are a bit stiff to press and multiple button combinations takes practice. You'll get muscle memory with practice, meaning you'll learn where the buttons are and it becomes easier over time. Just as a new helmet has the visor lift tab in different spots, you have to get used to it. Personally, I think the Sena unit has ease of functionality over all the other units. Afterall, it's only a jog dial and a single button in back. It is bulkier and you do have to have room for a boom mic in your helmet, but you also have options with the Sena like buying an earbud unit, which is optimal for listening to music or calls. But the larger unit is going to create more helmet wind noise. It's a trade-off which you'd like best really. Personally, I like this U-Clear unit but I think maybe the next gen they'll make the buttons easier to press. With normal summer riding gloves it's a tad tough to get the feel. not impossible, but takes practice as I mentioned. I think winter gloves would be a problem. Listening to music via earbuds offers the best volume and least noise intrusion. I previously used an i-Touch for that, but now i just sync my LG Optimus and use it exclusively with the U-Clear. Listening to music off the phone with only earbuds you do not get enough volume to ride at highway speeds. The U-Clear is plenty loud enough. Just make sure the speakers are placed best for your ear positions. Trial and error.
I have to update my profile on here. I currently ride a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 1000. Least amount of wind noise is best with screen in full down position, even on highway it's not bad at all.

The item I received is nothing like what's pictured. The picture online looks like maybe some cold weather two-piece alternative. The standard Aero skirt is a simple one-piece unit. That's what I expected though. I don't know where this online photo came from.
Shipping and customer service as usual - stellar. I actually received the skirt before I got my helmet (tomorrow) and I ordered the helmet a couple days before I bought the skirt!!
Sorry guys, but I bought the helmet from another source since it was a hard to find closeout (Black Chameleon EXO 700) and was dirt cheap. It's going to be a secondary helmet anyway as I use my Bell Star around town here in Florida because of its superior venting in this Florida heat. The Scorpion will hopefully be used on hiway jaunts since I am expecting it to be a way quieter helmet at speeds. Venting at hiway speeds is a non-issue.
Again, so satisfied with my purchase of the Aero skirt from Revzilla. They were the only ones that had it!

Just got the seat yesterday. Typical great customer service and fast shipping.
Unboxed and examined the seat and it looks very well made. Seems a few pounds heavier than my stock saddle. that's of no consequence to me. The seat pan seems better built than my stock pan. don't know what to do with the tiny storage compartment. Maybe my owner's manual and registration and insurance. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Rode to work today on the new saddle. Seems a tad taller/wider. Actually felt warm against my butt and inner thighs.
Foam built up in the front so that there is very little forward lean, very nicely done. It doesn't force me to sit back, nor crowd the tank. Nor does it make it difficult to change positions and hold positions. Very nice.
Cover material is tacky against the pants, holding you in place pretty well. Stock seat was slick and I always ended up balls to the wall, so to speak.
Foam is firm, yet is makes the ride seem more cushy. It actually dampens the vibrations transmitted to the rider. It was noticeable immediately. I hope it holds up like that.
It was actually kind of fatiguing on the ride to work as I tried to find comfortable positions to sit. I found myself leaning on my wrists a lot, but on the ride home I started finding sweet spots and the fatigue issue was not present. I am sure it's a matter of break in as it was with the stock seat, which I have to say was all day comfy for me. I just got tired of sliding forward.
Overall excellent marks for this brand. Glad I bought it and look forward to breaking it in properly in the next few weeks (I ride daily, it shouldn't take long). I also look forward to the first 300 mile day on it.
Best price on the net for this seat right here at Revzilla. Thanks for the support and great service guys! Customer for life! (next on my laundry list is new rain gear...lol!)

Boot wideth

Okay, looking to purchase my first ever track boot. I have a wide foot. I wear a 10.5 american, so I figure a 45 euro should do well for length. BUT, what brand/model has a wider foot vs. narrow foot? I don't live anywhere near a place that carries the various brands to try on.
I like the look of the Spidi xp wrs, but I think some of the tracks do not allow metal toe slidders. Are they replacable with plastic? I like the look of the Sidi Cobra too
Suggestions are welcome
Well, you say you have a wide foot, but you really need to be more specific in your question. Are we talking 'EEE' wide here? Notoriously, Italian made boots cater a bit to the narrow side in both heel and toe box. I have a pair of Sidi Fusion Rain boots and they fit narrow. However, I also have a new pair of an older Sidi boot and they fit wide - Sidi Vertigo Air. The later is/was Sidi's track boot. The Fusion is a city/street boot. You can still find Vertigo boots online. I got mine on Ebay. They are D-E width in my opinion. I've tried on Sidi Vortice and they again run narrow. I also own AlpineStar boots and they tend to be snug - again, an Italian boot maker. Sidi, I would tend to say, has revamped the standard way they make boots and to me they tend to be narrow. A-Stars have a better/more normal fit. They're 'boxier' if you will.

You say there is nowhere near you can try on boots in your area? Call your local BMW motorcycle shop. I am pretty sure they'll carry at least Sidi boots there. I'm in the Tampa/St Pete area. The Odessa BMW shop has Sidi boots.

Your best bet is just to order a pair that you like and try them on inside your house for the day. As long as they have not been outside Revzilla will exchange them for another pair or a store credit. Contact Revzilla and a couple other places that ship boots and get mutliple opinions from the sales staff. Most employees ride and give excellent input before you buy.

It's unfortunate, but boots are not a very highly stocked item even in places that carry tons of helmets and jackets.

are speakers clear/loud enough for wind noisy modular helmets?

this question is in relation to the one about the microphone/phone/earbuds compatibility.
Let's be realistic here for a minute.

I have the Sena and the UClear units. The Sena is hands-down the winner in ease of use and also total system volume. BUT - at highway speeds of 70-80mph your music is going to compete head-to-head with wind noise, unless you're behind a windshield the size of a Goldwing's. The sheer velocity of wind hitting your helmet, even on a calm day, is LOUD without earplugs. With earplugs you sacrifice volume from the unit, period. The best thing about this though is the fact that Sena realizes this and offers a mount with an earbud jack. Earbuds are the way to go if you plan to use this unit for highway touring. At speeds of 65mph or less the speakers are fine, and you even have to turn down the volume a bit or it can be harsh on your ears for extended periods. Before the Sena, I used to always use my iTouch with a decent set of earbuds for my highway treks. It's still a better option than the Sena with speakers, but the Sena is great with earbuds, and louder than my iTouch was by itself.

Also remember that a higher collar also improves wind noise cancellation, and you also have the option of buying one of those helmet collars that I hear does a great job of killing a lot of wind noise too.

Waterproof?

Is this unit waterproof at all, or does it have to come off when it rains?
Yes, it's waterproof. I've ridden with mine in torrential Florida downpours and not even a hiccup. I am frankly perplexed at this question as it would not be prudent for someone to manufacture an electronic device for a motorcycle that was not waterproof. Trust me though. This Sena unit is worth the money, period.

I have a Nolan NCom system on my riders helmet. Can I use the Sena SMH10 for my passengers helmet? Will they commuicate with each other?

No. I have both the Sena and UClear com systems and they do not communicate with each other. Each manufacturer has an assigned frequency. Just like a walkie talkie on channel 'A' won't talk to another one on channel 'B', the same applies to the various communications systems for bike helmets.

I have a Harley Road Glide Ultra, it doesn't look like this product would connect into my bike intercom for use with the CB, or could it?

Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth Headset Dual Pack Version 2.0
I agree. CB's are unfortunately 'old-tech'. Now if you've heard of a CB that has a bluetooth handset, which I highly doubt, then the Sena could possibly control base functions to which it was designed for; namely volume, channel up/down, and voice activated chat. But to my knowledge no futuristic CB has been designed for such use. The Sena was designed for bike to bike and rider to passenger communications, GPS, music, and phone integration. It does these extremely well. I own both the Sena and the UClear and by far the hands-down winner is the Sena.

Is the fit for the ST Vented the same as the Hydrosport?

I'm from Australia, and it seems that we have the Hydrosport but not the ST Vented here. I have tried on the Hydrosport in a store, but need to know whether I should be buying the same size (EU 44) in the ST Vented.
Don't hesitate. They'll fit the same. A-Stars are very consistent in fit even from half boots to boots.

Sizing....Alpinestars vs. Dainese

I own a pair of Dainese Visoke D-WP boots (size 45) and they fit perfectly. Does anyone know how A-Stars and Dainese match up sizing wise? With American sizing - I typically run between 11 to 11 1/2.

I already own a pair of Sidi Crossfires (size 45). They fit a bit snug, but are great on the bike....just not so good for walking around.

I really want a comfortable boot both on and off the bike. The Visoke's are just wearing out...from the inside, actually. They're ripped to shreds around the heel pocket.
User submitted photo
Go with a size 45 in the AlpineStars. I have a couple different A-Stars and they all fit the same so far. I am a size 45 Euro myself.

I would also steer you to the Sidi Fusion boot if you have feet on the narrower side. I have the Fusion Rain version and they are AWESOME! Sidi is a bit narrow compared to the a-Stars. My A-Stars fit me very comfortably and I have no doubt that an A-Star boot with minimal exterior sliders and ankle bracing would be all-day comfy.

I see you mention having a pair of Sidi's. You can still get Sidi Vertigo boots on Ebay or perhaps even here. They are wider in the heel and toe box than newer more current Sidi models. If I had to order them again I would have gone with a US 10.5 and not an 11 in the Vertigo (I have the Vertigo Airs).

Video accuracy

I have just watched your video of the Sidi Fusion Rain Boot and the boot that is demonstrated appears to be a differenet boot to the one shown for that description.
The boot in the video has a toe slider and the boot promo doesnt.
If you re-watch the video he is reviewing the Fuison in all 3 versions all at once. Anthony DOES say that the Rain version has no toe slider. The regular Fusion and Air Fusion both have toe sliders.

Take it from me, without the toe slider the Fusion Rain is a sleek and elegant boot that you can wear under jeans and they look like dress shoes. They're beautiful.

alternative mounting options?

hey guys, first off gotta say i just found your page on facebook and i'm a superfan already. i have yet to find any site that goes in depth with video etc...on product description and such as you guys do....AWESOME! ok, back to my question. so i've been looking for a bluetooth set up forever, one that's not bulky/ugly/ungodly expensive...came across this and seems pretty much what i'm looking for. i was just wondering if it would still work fine if i didn't connect it to the helmet, but instead clipping it to my inside pocket on my jacket? obviously i would probably need some kind of extension for the cable, but other than that it should work just the same right? (only curious cuz i'm not too keen with stickin' stuff on my helmet, small or not...lol). thanks for all your help and keep up the great work!
How would you press the buttons for the device if it were inside your jacket pocket? I think you're making more trouble for yourself than you'll be able to handle trying to modify by elongating the cable to the speakers. They are multi wires for each speaker/mic, so I think you would muck that up right off the bat trying to splice new wires into them, There goes $200.00! What needs to happen in the future is that you have a bluetooth connection between the unit itself and the speakers/mics. Then you can mount the control unit say on the left side of the gas tank and visually see where and what you are pressing. That would require larger speaker units to house bluetooth circuitry, and also batteries that would need charging along with the base unit. Until that day comes we are still hindered by wiring the controller to the speakers and mics in all brands... so far ;-)
