Sizing on the SAS-TEC Backprotector
Hi,
I'd like to order the SAS-TEC back protector and trim it fit my Icon Accelerant Jacket. I understand that cutting the piece voids my warranty on the product, but anything is better than the foam piece that is currently in my jacket; unfortunately, Icon's own Stryker Back Protector does not fit inside my accelerant jacket.
Can you please let me know how the sizing works with the SAS-TEC, the sizing choices are: 1/11, 1/12 and 1/16. Which is the largest of the three? I'd like to order the largest one to make sure I get the largest piece and trim off the excess.
Looking forward to hearing from someone soon.

Kahlil,
All I can give you for advice is my opinion. For the past thirty years I have worked in Law Enforcement, and wish I could forget some of the accident scenes I have been to.
I am not familiar with your jacket or how much, or what type of protection it provides I am sure it is probably is a good product, but one thing I can say is that I personally want "EVERY INCH or CENTIMETER" of protection on that I will still be able to wear comfortably.
The reason I say comfortably is because I know that if it is not comfortable, or at least tolerable people tend "NOT" to wear it even if they have it. (bullet proof vest are no different).
That being said, personally I would not recommend cutting anything off the SAS-TEC Back Protector. I had originally bought a different jacket than I have now and I was in the same situation. So after thinking of all the ways I could customize the jacket itself or cut the protector i finally decided to go ahead and get the jacket it was actually designed for. Yeah, it meant giving up more bucks, but I can honestly say I think it is worth it.
I hope I will never have to put the protective products I wear to the test, but I am glad we have them available to wear.
Good luck with your decision, and Ride Safe.
