I have read the other reviews and just want to be clear to everyone, HELMETS DO FIT in these cases. I have both an Icon Airframe and an Arai Profile - both size large and they both fit (not at the same time). You need to get the position right but that is not difficult, the cases will close and stay sealed against water.
If they came with something reflective or with lights under the red plastic I would give them five stars but just get some solas tape and\or a light kit and they are complete. They hold quite a bit in them even if their overall shape is more for aerodynamics as opposed to storage.
My stock turn signals had to be moved (PLX mounting) and the included bracket was fugly for my bike so I chose to replace them entirely.
Other than the signal issue they combine function and style quite well. The colour choices are also changeable, just purchase the other panel you want and swap them out if you feel the need.

After 10K miles (about 4k of that in rain and\or sleet) in them I can say they are totally waterproof. You will feel almost no wind whilst wearing them, making them warm. Warm enough in fact until about 40 deg, then if I am going to be riding for any length of time (or at highway speeds) I use long underwear with them. I do not need to use my heated liner until it is quite chilly, thanks again to the Gore-Tex blocking the wind and all precipitation.
However, unless I have the bottom of the legs buttoned tighter then the normal position, I can feel the wind blowing up the front of my leg, a downside in winter to be sure. Having the leg buttoned tighter exacerbates the pain I get in my knees from the D3O knee armour pressing against them. When the legs are not buttoned I still get that pain but it is not as severe. This might be because the D3O gets very stiff in colder temps, making the otherwise soft and not noticeable armour feel like actual steel plates.
The thigh vents only open from the hip down and can be quite a chore to zip up whilst riding if required. I also do not feel much breeze from them when opened, even when the exhaust vents on the back of the thighs are also open. The cargo pockets work well but are not bellows type as on the Dakar. They also slowly fall off my hips when I am walking in them.
They are still great and worth every penny. I will buy them again in a minute if I ever need to replace them and I do recommend them to anyone wanting protection from water and wind.

Love the look and style of this jacket, feels totally bulletproof. Plenty of pockets and lots of reflective parts so you should be seen more easily.
Unfortunately for me I had to return this jacket. I purchased a small and the sleeves of the Latitude were too long for me. The rest of the fit was spot -on and still comfortable with a Gerbing liner under it.
The top left outside chest pocket has a lanyard type keeper in it, not sure how practical this location is for others but it would not have been for me.
A really nicely made jacket that makes me wish my arms were a little longer.

While I have not crash tested this yet it makes me feel much more protected. It is a little hotter in the summer and for me it does shift slightly in the pocket of my jacket sometimes (not when riding, just when the jacket is removed or put on) but it is never uncomfortable. Once it gets warm it is really not even noticeable anymore.

The ride started with a nip in the air. Thirty miles later it is sunny and warm. Like a chameleon, the Dakar Pant, with its controlled ventilation chassis, changes to meet the demands of any condition with little adjustment. The Dakar can adapt with the help of 20 inch mesh-lined zippered thigh vents and a mesh-lined rear leg vent. Adaptation does not come at the cost of performance and durability. The Dakar Pant is built with TNP heat and abrasion- resistant leather panels on the inner legs, Cordura fabric for strength and highly reinforced knees and seat. I was looking for something to replace my Kevlar lined jeans and I could not have found a better pant. Fits true to size, great air-flow, the thigh cargo pockets hold a lot and the pants just look great. I get asked about them constantly. The leather panels on the legs really help to grip the tank and improve the feel of riding.
Also after low-siding off the road onto gravel (with the D3O Armour upgrade) I can say they can take a slide and protect me and still look great after. Machine washable too!
Only con is they are not waterproof in any way but at least they dry quickly.

Sidi Canyon Gore-Tex Boots Features Top grain leather construction Contrasting texture upper Equipped with a GORE-TEX waterproof-breathable membrane Velcro closure system above the ankle Micro adjustable strap system below the ankle Full length inner gaiter Rigid nylon innersole Removable arch support Internal heel protection Internal ankle protection Internal toe protection Leather toe shift-brake pad Nylon plate and internally padded shin plate Double stitched in all high stress areas Reflective panels Bonded non-slip lug type sole Non-Bootie Designs Sidi boots do not incorporate inner booties into their design, and for good reason. Booties make the design larger and cumbersome add to the boots thickness, which interferes with shifting, plus the inner booties retain body heat affecting the riders performance and comfort. Gore-Tex Striving for peak performance Whether its a day on a wet track, a long distance tour through all types of conditions, or simply pursuing your everyday adventures, Sidi GORE-TEX lined boots will help you get there. Designed to provide comfort and protection, Sidi GORE-TEX boots keep your feet dry, even when you encounter snow, or rain. Each Sidi GORE-TEX boot is totally waterproof to keep moisture from penetrating inside, yet incredibly breathable to allow sweat to escape. This high breathability is critical to your comfort because, simply put, sweaty feet are uncomfortable feet. Inside waterproof boots that are not breathable, moisture builds up and has nowhere to go. It then remains trapped against your skin, leaving your feet clammy, uncomfortable, and more prone to develop blisters. This can be even more of a problem in high aerobic activities because the more active you are, the more your feet sweat were talking up to one full cup of water a day! Sidis GORE-TEX lined boots is specifically designed to provide comfort and protection on a hard ride or for longer rides when the weather is warmer. The patented GORE-TEX membrane is where it all starts. Nestled between the boots outer top grain leather and the inner liner, this membrane keeps water out while letting your perspiration vapor escape. As part of Sidis waterproof guarantee, EVERY boot produced is tested for waterproofness and breathability. And, to make sure the whole boot breathes the way it should, all leather and other textile materials used to construct Sidi GORE-TEX boots are tested for breathability as well. So go on take that extra step. Take it in total comfort because youre wearing Sidi GORE-TEX boots!

After about 7k miles I can say these boots are worth every penny. Had a few rides of several hours in the driving rain and the only parts of me that stayed dry were my head and my feet! These boots work!
A little tight for me but I bought one size smaller then I wanted in hopes they would break in a little and stretch some, they do but as soon as you remove them they go right back to their original fit
Easy and comfortable to walk in once off the bike also, a big plus for me
Air flow gets a three because they are not designed for it

The Klim Tactical shorts are just what I was looking for. They are cool & so light weight (I have gloves that weigh more) that you will not even realize you have them on. The PoronXRD seems as though it will protect me - I have not crash tested these yet. The PoronXRD is in the correct places for me although I admit that I think the tailbone protector is a little high, it is not directly on my coccyx, it is just above it.
The worst part of it is the crotch pad, it is bulky to me, however as I am quite petite the issue may only be me.
They fit under riding jeans without have to buy the jeans a size up. Also machine washing and drying does not alter the size of them.
Will purchase more for me and as gifts.

Icon Airframe Helmets

If a XLarge does not fit can I order the Large replacement pads to make it fit my smaller head?
I am not sure I understand your question.
If your head is too small for an XL, why are you buying that size in the first place?
If the helmet does not fit because the size is wrong, larger pads are not the answer, a different size shell would be the proper solution. A helmet that does not fit properly will compromise the safety of said helmet thus negating the reason to wear it.
I started with an Icon Airframe, personally I found that the padding did not last very long. I had to replace it even before the typical "riding season" was finished (It also felt like a cinder block sitting on my head).
Perhaps you should look at Arai (my choice) or Shoei instead, Arai in particular offers more fitting variations to chose from.

i want this helmet, but i have some questions

right off the bat i'm going to need a dark smoke shield. this is a $800+ helmet, whats the deal with the shields? like most helmets it ships with a clear shield, but then you are selling dual panes, inserts, tear offs (i know these are for racing), pinlock inserts...the list goes on.

I'm a Bell Star guy, they make things fairly simple. If I am to get into the Arai game, can someone please explain to me what I need to be equipped with a dark smoke shield for sunny street riding conditions. Thanks.
In order to be equipped with a dark smoke shield you will have to buy said shield separately as Arai helmets only come with a clear shield
If you want/need NO FOG AT ALL you will need a Pinlock visor - whatever brand of helmet you choose.
They are entirely worth the money! But that is a different issue ...

Whichever your brand of helmet just make sure it fits properly, otherwise you have wasted your money

My bike is very close in size and the large fits quite well. I applaud you for your choice, this cover will protect the bike from almost anything (not hail though). The best cover I have ever owned.

Are all scorpion helmets snell2010 approved?

The clown helmet to be specific!
As per Scorpion USA, "Our EXO-400 helmets manufactured in 2011 carry the M2010 rating, we have chosen to go with the worldwide standard of ECE 22.05 on our other models".
So yes the clown helmet is Snell M2010 rated, but not in a 3XL size.

Dainese Hard Shorts vs. AStars Bionic Freeride

What will be the major differences between the Dainese Hard Short and the Alpinestars Bionic Freeride? They both seem to have hard protection at the thigh and coccyx and soft padding at the hip. At similar pricepoints, which is more protective at the hip? Which is more comfortable (riding and walking)?
I tried on the Hard short at the store and found them not tight enough for me (30 Waist). I did not like the armour moving and I had to adjust it after I had my riding pants on over them. It seemed that I would be doing that every time I got on the bike again.
Instead of either I would recommend the Klim Tactical Short. Extremely comfortable for both riding and walking (I did review them). You will not even know you have them on.
Not the exact answer but I hope it helps.

Gerbing's Heated Pant Liner Compressible, water-repellent, durable, Thinsulate insulation Teflon coated, wind-resistant, soft nylon shell Form-fitting patterns and sizing to fit snugly and easily under your outer garments Full length zipper from hip to bottom of pant for each side Lifetime warranty on the heating elements SPECIFICATIONS Heat Microwire Source 12-volts DC Current 3.6 amps Watts 44 watts Surface Temp 125F +/- 5F at 32F

Can the Gerbing's pant liner be hemmed?

I have to get every pants I ever buy hemmed, even women's cuts. If short lengths are available, I just have less to hem. Can you hem these pants liners without interfering with the electrical and heating elements? If hemming is not an option, can they be folded up and will that double heat my ankles?
Looking at mine I would say it depends on how much you need to shorten them. There is about three and a half inches at the bottom where there are no wires, however the issue may be that the side zipper that runs down most of the legs could be tough to change. Although being plastic it may be easy to shorten - get a good tailor.
Also folding the zipper could be uncomfortable if the pants are tucked into a boot.
Having no wires at the bottom means that folding is not a problem nor is it warmer.

Please see below chart for protector measurements Size Measurements Small (G1) 15 Height 9.5 Widest Point Medium (G2) 17 Height 9.75 Widest Point Note Some inserts will be all black while others will be black/yellow, though the construction is the same. Would the small pad fit into a Dainese women's jacket?

I have the small pad in my size 38 (US) Laguna Seca and there is still both vertical and horizontal room in the pad pocket so I cannot imagine the pad not fitting in a women's jacket
Even though there is the extra room in the pad pocket my spine is well covered when I ride
