I replaced a Firstgear Kilamanjaro with this jacket. The AST 2 is just as warm, much lighter weight and has much better armor included (love the beefy elbow and shoulder pads, back armor could extend down futher, but its beefy and CE rated.)
Very warm. Took it out on a 30 degree day with the liner in and had to open the vents because I was working up a sweat (vents work great too). Have not tested the waterproofness of it yet but seems to be a solid design, with lots of zips and folds and buttons, which can be a pain in you are in a hurry.
I was able to fit my Leatt brace OVER the top of the jacket with the collar closed, some thing that I couldn't do with the Kilamanjaro. I installed a larger size latch in the Leatt brace to give me some extra room, and it works great. So glad to be able to ride with neck protection now.
I should also compliment Revzilla for their excellent service. The jacket was delivered without the back protection and a quick call to Revzilla and they expressed me the missing pad right away. Thanks guys!
Pros Rugged, Comfortable
Cons lots of zips/buttons to zip/snap for full waterproof coverage.
Yes, I recommend this product.
