Instead of rewriting my whole review of the Race-R Pro, (which you can find here: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shark-race-r-pro-kimbo-helmet) I will just go over what makes this helmet even better than its predecessor.
Huge improvement in the quality of the liner material. It feels infcredibly plush and wicks sweat more effectively. It also looks nicer with the offset color they used in there. I will say that the cheek pads on this seem slightly fuller than the previous, which shouldn't be a problem unless you have a bigger face. But they have different sizes that you can buy from Revzilla I think.
Weight. It isn't a huge savings, but it is enough to make a difference at race pace. Not sure if the new compound they use for the shell does anything different than the previous in the way of protection, but it has a 5Star Sharp rating....so I'm good with that.
Lastly, the look of the thing. It is just plain sexy in the matte Black with Carbon inlay. Lots of compliments.
I love this helmet for its fit, comfort, venting, aero, looks, and protectivity. You should spend a little extra coin to protect your brains and look good. They aren't mutually exclusive ya know.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This review is hard for me to write since it is a crash test too. I had a very short, but very sweet relationship with my Shark Race-R Pro. First off, the helmet is a technical piece to say the least. Every contour on it was well thought out and purposeful. Second, it is beautiful and eye-catching. Third, it is quality safety through and through. Fit was fairly neutral, but with a bit more ovalness than say an HJC RPHA. I would say that the Large fits a hair larger than the HJC and Suomy helmets I have tried on. So here are the reasons you should pony up the cash for this helmet.
- Aerodynamics were astonishing at race speeds whether under the bubble or leaned over in a high-speed corner
- The weight of the helmet was like a feather
- The wind noise was better than a lot of other race helmets
- The air flow was the best I have EVER had in a helmet. This thing kept me so cool while riding. It basically felt like a convertible.
- Visor clarity and strength was great on both the clear and the dark smoke visor.
- Ease of use and customizability in visor install and tightness setting for flipping the visor up/down was great.
- The ONLY negative thing I have to say is that the magnetic snap on the chin strap was a bit hard to find with gloves on and wasn't as secure as an old-school button snap. It undid itself once or twice at speed and was a bit annoying.
NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT PART! It saved my head during a big impact with the pavement after a massive high side at about 60mph. When I hit the pavement, I heard a loud bang on the back of my head and a slight impact. However, I knew that the impact felt a lot lighter than it actually was thanks to the Shark doing it's job just like the 5-Star SHARP test rating would indicate. The rear spoiler was obliterated and there was a dent on the back of the head from the impact. But my head didn't feel a thing really.
I'm sad to have only had a few days on this helmet at the track this race season, but am glad that it was there for me when I needed it. It will be tough adjusting back to my old Suomy now that my Shark is gone, but what can a budget racer do, but make use of what he's got.

Short, but straight to the point review: Gloves feel amazingly comfortable. Unmatched by all of my previous sets of Alpinestars gloves. The Jerez will feel like an Isotoner when on your hands. The protection is fantastic, but the only thing that is missing is a stitched together pinky and ring finger, which I will add. They flex well, but are supportive. They give great lever feel. They look very nice. Remember these run really small. I went from usually being a Large or maybe X-Large, to being a perfect fit in XXL.

...in fact, this isn't even comparable to my old set of canyon dancers. It is 50% better. "Just 50%," you ask sarcastically. Yes, and 50% is huge!!!! The 50% that I am raving about is the cup system that they have replaced the old system with. It is much easier on your clip-ons by applying pressure in the appropriate angle that provides a more secure and much less damaging holding point on each side. No more do I have to deal with my throttle grip jammed half way up the tube and sticking for half of the morning. No more do I have to hope that my bike's lack of a OEM electronic cluster on the clutchside results in the tie-down point moving up to the triple clamp and diminishing the integrity of my entire tie down job.
As for the other 50% of it, it is still brilliant and top quality as my old set was. BUY IT...and buy it from here, cuz Revzilla rocks!

Sidi Vortice Boots It was thought that the award winning Sidi Vertigo Corsa boot was the pinnacle of sport boot technology. Until today that is as Sidi is proud to introduce the next step in the evolutionary chain The Vortice. The latest in technology combined with the great skill and workmanship of Sidis Italian based factory technicians blend in a whirl of fresh solutions to satisfy a riders desire for safety and comfort. Constructed of Lorica and is lined with Teflon vented mesh. Only Sidi goes to trouble and expense of creating a multiple liner boot system in its racing boots. Lorica is a composite micro fiber material created from strands that are so fine, each one is less than one thousandth the thickness of silk. When injected with special resins, these fibers act like natural leather skin, but with the addition of better strength, softer texture, lighter weight and better moisture protection. Sidi has added a small elastic panel to aid in a smooth zipper operation as it allows a bit of movement via the elastic as the zipper passes over the riders ankle ball. The rear upper part of the boot is made up of the following mechanisms A) The TECNO CALF TENSIONER mechanism adjusts the leg circumference. Placed in the back of the boots upper, it works through a nylon wire that hooks directly to the shin plate. B) The TECNO SHIN TENSIONER mechanism helps the TECNO CALF TENSIONER close the leg upper on the front part of the boot. The two lateral nylon braces join the ankle joint with two screws that are protected by nylon caps. This system is reinforced with fiberglass, supports the ankle and is easy to replace. This system allows excellent flex movement front-to-back while being firm side-to-side. Tecno Instep Tensioner, a fastening system on the front part of the foot, on the instep. Shock Absorbing Heel Cup Non-vented Shin Plate Gear Change Pad Vortice Slider toe slider is made in nylon reinforced with fiberglass. It is fitted with a new air intake and an innovative alloy insert. Racing SRS Sole all new sole is constructed of a polyurethane and rubber blend.

These are a bit tedious to get into, but outside of that, they are fantastic. The reason they are so hard to get into is because the system it uses is designed to give an almost custom fit while keeping the boots on your feet during a crash. Actually, I just crash tested them and they slid when they needed to slide, didn't catch anywhere and kept my foot and ankle totally safe. The big thing for me though, is that they are so well ventilated that your feet are always comfy. This seems like a stupid thing to care about, but aside from your head, central mass and hands, the feet are your body's next major heat release point. Keeping your toes and feet cool and relatively dry is a great feeling on the track and probably the street. You get what you pay for.

From SAN FRANCISCO
First off, this gets a 4 out of 5 stars only because I would reserve 5 stars for a fully made-to-measure custom suit. But for a suit off the rack it is definitely one of the best you can get.
PROTECTION - Although I haven't yet crash tested the suit, the quality is apparent. The zippers, stitching and seams, leather feel are all very well manufactured. The protection within the suit is very good and has coverage where you need it and the elbow and sholder sliders should come in handy during a crash. The sliders that came with the bike have a lot of feel and adhere well to the velcro, but they might be the type of slider that you can burn through after a handful of race or trackday weekends.
COMFORT - The comfort of the suit was outstanding. I am 6'2" 215 pounds and went with a 56. My build is a moderately athletic one. I have a thicker torso and broad chest, broad shoulders and relatively larger arms and thighs, and a slightly tapered waist line. So I am less of a slender/pocket-sized racer and more of a traditional sports athlete's body type. Coming from an Alpinestars suit, I noticed right away that the Victory suit was better suited for my build. If you are more on the slender side, you might have more rooms in the limbs than you need. But for me, it was refreshing to be able to move my arms and legs more freely without having a suit with too much leftover material flapping in the wind. The length of the torso was good for my height too. without any of my back/chest protection, the suit would fit well, but have more room. The nice thing though, is that with all my back/chest protection on, the suit's multiple stretch areas help accomodate that. It forms nicely and still doesn't constrict my movement at all. Also, the softer materials used around the neck, wrists and ankles really add another level of comfort to this suit that I missed in my old suit.
LOOKS - Obviously, this suit is one of the best looking on the market especially in the White/Blue/Red version I got. And no, I don't ride an S1000RR. The shoulder and elbow sliders look fantastic. the suit fits well and it really looks like the top-level suit it is.
VENTILATION - OMG, this Victory suit ventilates way better than my fully frontal perfed Alpinestars did. The perforation isn't full coverage, but man these cleanly lasered holes are way more efficient than the little perforation holes made by standard leather punching. The most amazing thing is how well the ventilated hump works. I thought the whole vinturi effect was a bunch of sales mumbo jumbo that they have to play up. But in full tuck, I could really feel the air channel being created and just cooling the whole back of my body down immediately. It was very refreshing, and will be welcome in the summer races. The only thing is that the suit visually makes you look a little thicker up top than other do because of all the 3-D honeycomb wicking material and breathable liners they equipped it with. But it is worth staying super cool and dry.
OVERALL - The only way, I think this suit could be better is if it were custom made to your exact body measurements. In which case, you would have to pay at least another $300. So all-in-all, I think this is the best off the rack suit I have tried on and used in recent years at this price point.

Good Protection to add to Pro Sub 4

It serves its purpose perfectly. The coverage and protection is great, it isn't too thick and it has breathability through the vent holes in the padding.
The only con is (like the other reviewer) that the strapping system is only OK. It isn't bad, but just not as great as it would be if it was fully integrated to the Pro Sub 4 like it is to the lower level protector they make.

Spidi Defender Armor Vest The Spidi Defender Armor Vest was born from the need to protect the chest and the kidneys. From this need came the combination of a back and chest protector. The Warrior technology is based on highly shock absorbing light composite cell materials. The tangible result is a cat. 2 CE certified back protector, and a cat.1 CE certified chest protector. During certification testing for this type of protector, the required value of residual energy must not exceed 18 KN. The residual energy of a Warrior technology based protector is 7.8KN. Surprisingly light, thin and comfortable, this safety vest redefines the concept of comfort when applied to safety equipment. This protector evolves the idea of improved comfort as a factor in improving safety, because it makes riding easier and lets the rider concentrate on the road/terrain. The air canalization system and the internal mesh are aimed at improving Air Circulation, averaging 50 more than regular back protectors.

Not crash tested.
Contrary to the others I am not as high on this product for several reasons. First off, I am 6'2" and I found the protector's length to be a bit too short. It didn't adequately reach and cover my tailbone.
Though it is a nicely designed and good looking piece of protection, it just didn't feel as though it would hold up to substantial impacts. The armor was plasticy, and didn't seem to provide the level of shock absorbtion that the Forcefield Pro Sub 4 did based on a simple "elbow me in the back" test. It was thin (which is nice to a certain extent), but not confidence inspiring. The breathability of it seemed to be an issue as well. I also noticed that it wasn't as broad along the top as the Pro Sub 4, so it didn't provide as much shoulder blade protection.
The one really strong point was that it is very comfortable in the suit and moves quite well with your spine's curvature. The straps seem well constructed too. All in all, I could recommend this to a street rider who doesn't ride in very hot climates. But I would not recommend this to a racer of track day enthusiast. Instead, those two types of riders would be better served in the Forcefield combo which I also reviewed.
Pros Fashionable, Comfortable
Cons Flimsy
Yes, I recommend this product.

Forcefield Back Protector Pro Sub 4 The Forcefield Back Protector Pro Sub 4 is the worlds first Motorcycle back protector to transmit less than 4kn when subjected to the standard CE test. The Pro Sub 4 has been specifically designed to test at under 4kn when subjected to the standard CE test EN1621-2. Independent testing by SATRA shows a mean test result of 3.38kn transmitted energy, making it the first motorcycle back protector in the world to attain this level of performance. Constructed with a removable and washable outer cover to give the rider the ability to keep the back protector clean and hygienic , it also makes the protector more flexible as it is not bonded at the edges, this in turn makes it more comfortable to wear, a prime consideration in the design process of any Forcefield product. As with all Forcefield Body Armour the Pro Sub 4 has RPT (Repeat Performance Technology) ensuring continued and consistent protection even after multiple impacts. I have not crash tested this yet, but am reviewing based on visuals and wearing it.
I needed a top quality back and chest protector combo, so I was fortunate enough to try the Pro Sub 4 on with the Forcefield Race Lite chest protector attached.
The first thing I noticed about this set of protection was the quality and detail of work. It is very well thought out and clearly well constructed. It has very good coverage of the shoulder blades, great tailbone coverage if you buy the proper size for your body and amazing strap system that is more comfortable as well as secure. There is a substantial amount of ventilation and the liner keeps you cool and wicks sweat pretty well. Although it is a very slightly thicker than another popular protector, it is well worth the protection for racers and trackday enthusiasts. I would recommend this suit to anyone who values safety and performance above all else.
Pros Comfortable
Yes, I recommend this product.
