Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT Tires The Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires represent the latest iteration and next generation of Pilot Road evolution. This review is for the PR-4 GT, 180/55ZR 17 rear. I was really hoping this tire would wear like the advertising says. I used to get 7K-8K miles on the Bridgestone BT-023 GT's on my Suzuki 1250 Bandit (Unfortunately a discontinued tire.) and from all the hype I have read was hoping for 10K miles out of these, at least, considering the big jump in price for the Michelins. I am at the wear bars at 7500 miles and the tire is squared right off....I'm not at all impressed. I wish Michelin would put more money into their tires and less into the advertising. I have had it with the big manufacturers selling tires as "Touring" that are really just a "Sport" tire in disguise. I am going to try the Shinko, as I have read many good reviews and at least you aren't paying a premium price for a no better than average tire.Tire Photo's

I wore this jacket over a Joe Rocket Alter Ego 3.0 for 7-1/2 hours of rain that varied from light drizzle to absolute downpour. My J.R. Alter Ego is NOT water proof on it's own, no matter what J.R. says. With this jacket over top I didn't get wet at all...nothing get's thru! Packs small, excellent zipper cover and lots of adjustment to prevent flapping. I don't leave home without it. One of the best purchases I have made. I got the Hi Viz to go over a dark jacket so the Cagers can see me in the rain!

I bought this tire just to have something to ride on while my Michelin PR-4 front tire was sent back to see if they will replace it due to an severe cupping issue. I took it thru some mountain twisties the other day and pushed my GSF1250 S Bandit to the limit and the tire gripped perfectly...much better than the PR-4.Dry traction is excellent, I have not had a chance to ride it in the rain yet. It's smooth, quite and very grippy...no chicken strips and no slipping. Not just a good tire for the money, but a good tire period. 1000 miles and wear is excellent.

On my Suzuki 1250 Bandit, the rear Pilot Road 4 GT is wearing well with 3K miles, but the front tire is garbage. 3K miles and it's cupping on both sides all the way around the tire and it feels like I'm riding on a rumble strip. I religiously check tire pressure and my tire is inflated with nitrogen. It is not out of balance either. The cupping is happening at the bottom of every one of the vertical sipes to the outside, on both sides of the tire...I suspect it's a compound issue. I'm hoping RevZilla will do something for me. I'm very disappointed with the wet traction on both these tires...not as good as the BT-023's I replaced. The rear is wearing better than the 023 and will last longer I'm sure, but it should for the price. I'd go back to the BT-023 if they still made it.

Love the flexibility with the solid outer jacket and the mesh inner jacket. Great fit and good protection. My only complaint is that this jacket is not waterproof. The first time I wore it in the rain it leaked at the crook in the elbows and ran up to my arm pits. What ever they used to treat the outer layer to try and make it waterproof breaks down when it is flexed and allows water thru. A better outer coating would solve the problem.

I love the size, easily holds what you need for a few weeks on the road. They are tough too, my Bandit got knocked over and it barely scuffed finish. My only complaint is it is not water proof...it's barely water resistant.

Too many parts, the handle and lock section are removable and not sealed very well..I get water and road dust inside the case. Not impressed. The supports that are supposed to hold up the lid when open, are garbage....not up to the task. The lid keeps closing itself in the slightest wind or if you bump the bike. The screws keep falling out of the bracket supports for the lid. I've put them back into the feeble plastic posts so many times that they have stripped out. I had to use plastic weld to hold the screws in. The only redeeming feature is the size.

This is a great sport touring tire. My 1250 Suzuki Bandit has never handled better 2up. Tire turns in much better than the stock Dunlop and feels much more planted.

Replaced the stocker Dunlops on my Suzuki 1250 Bandit that were down to the wear bars in 2000 miles. My Bike is set up for 2up touring. Wife on the back and 2-45L saddlebags and a 55L top case. The new tires have shown almost no wear in 2000 miles, but the handling and the traction are amazing. What an excellent tire and much less expensive than the Michelins....great wet weather traction too. When these do wear out I'll be getting another set.
