Arai XC Faceshield OEM Replacement Shield for use with Arai XC or Arai XC RAM helmets Smoked and tinted shields are designed for daytime riding, and are not recommended for night time use
This is a nice Arai Quality shield, the method of removal/install is a bit of a pain but fine once you do it a few times. The medium shield isnt worth it as I would have rather had the Dark Shield which is out of stock everywhere, popular or discontinued I don't know which... Good optical qualities when closed....
Arai XC RAM Helmet Super Fiber Laminate shell-strong, lightweight, comfortable Brow ventilation ducts Fully removable Dry-Cool liner Multiple-foam interiors for comfort Removable/Replaceable cheek pads for custom fit Ventilation system borrowed directly from top-of-the-line Corsair-V XC Ram shield, holder and base plates Fixed Air-Wing diffuser provides stability at highway speeds Advance flip up faceshield-precurved and super scratch-resistant shield Meets or exceeds Snell and D.O.T. standards
I have a longer oval head, Arai is THE fit, tried others, full face Vector claustrophobic to me, the XC Ram is just right so will just use the Vector for Winter, the Ram for every other time. My Classic M has finally wore out, such a pitty but the XC Ram is the replacement of choice and Revzilla did a super job of description, price and service, BRAVO Revzilla. Back to the helmet, yes she is noisy as the basic design is 3/4 face but I wear ear plugs and custom buds as well so it is not a bother at all and noise means venting, Venting is great with the vents and under the shield and a Balcava keeps the chill out. Finally a Removable Liner, finally and a nice one at that, price is a bit stiff but what the heck she is worth it. I would prefer that they went to the ratchet chin strap but I have O say in that, they are a bit old school now aren't they, the strap padding is to short, pretty normal for Arai as well, I miss the visor of the Classic M but the brow area is pretty deep and makes up for it some. Last comment, changing of the shield took a bit of time but once you follow the instructions a few times it is pretty easy now.. I have now got a thousand miles here in Colorado on the XC Ram and would not trade it for anything else out there, and I have tried on most of them and this will be my "LAST HELMET", I am almost 70 now and ride almost every day a hundred or so pleasure miles on my BMW 1200RT. A little long winded but it is a review that I think is honest... Thanks ARAI and Thanks Revzilla....
LOVE THE SHIELD (AMBER)AND SWITCH BETWEEN THIS ONE AND CLEAR DEPENDING ON CONDITIONS, VERY TRUE TO FORM WITH NO HOT SPOTS OR WAVES, RAPID FAST SHIPPING AND GREAT COMMUNICATIONS, WILL BUY FROM REVZILLA AGAIN AND AGAIN... THANKS VERY MUCH
