The SRC system is dedicated for use in the Schuberth C3 helmet. The price is more than double that of the Scala Q2 that matches the functionality of the SRC and the range is reduced. It goes without saying that the SRC stays with the helmet since it can not be installed in any other brand. Having said that, it does perform well, providing a clean install in the C3 without protruding parts. A bit pricy for what it can do.

Ambient noise inside the helmet (even a full face) as well as exhaust noise (Harley) will cause the noise reduction to impair the transmission quality.
Pros Easy to install, Comfortable
Cons Noise cancellation is iffy, FM is difficult to operate
Yes, I recommend this product.

Scala Rider G4 Audio Kit w/ Boom Mic
Scala Rider G4 Audio Kit w/ Boom Mic
Audio kit includes Boom Mic for Cardo Scala Rider G4 Headsets Perfect to allow easy swapping of G4's when you have multiple helmets Note this does NOT work with the Scala Q2 Headsets

Is the Scala Rider G4 Audio Kit w/ Boom Mic needed for use with a half hemet and what other accessories are needed for such an instalation?

This and most other audio sets will not mount to a half helmet. It requires at least a 3/4 helmet so that the bottom edge under your ear is low enough and thin enough to mount the boom mike.

With the Schuberth SRC C3 system can you use it with a motorola droid phone with Bluetooth, a garmin zumo 660 and an iPod

I used mine with a Droid 2 and another brand of MP3 player, though there should be no difference with the iPod as it will be hardwired to the headset. There is a limitation of one Bluetooth and one "plugged in" device so the Garmin and iPod would not work together.

Is this headset (Q2 pro) compatible for intercom with my current Q2 headset?

I beleive all of the Scala Q2 products are compatible with each other. The only limitation would be the maximum number of channels for intercom and bike to bike concurrent connections.

Will the G4 fit on the Shuberth C3 and C3W

I can tell you that the Q2 will not work well on the Schuberth C3 and I would think that the same is true of the G4. The reason is that the rim of the helmet is too thick for the clamping device and the profile shape prevents the stick-on mount from working.

How good is wrist protection ?

If the wrist skirt is kept outside of sleeves is provides a lot of protection. On dirt it deflects dirt, mud and debris as well as branch slaps. On the street it keeps the wind from going up your sleeves along with the occasional stinging insect! Well worth it.
