Shoei Hornet X2 Adventure Helmet What's in a name Call it the Shoei Hornet X2 Adventure Helmet, the Shoei Hornet ADV Helmet, or just the Shoei Hornet Adventure - a rose by any other name would be as equally prepared for the street or trail. Adventure riding essentially knows no bounds. The Shoei Hornet X2 Helmet offers serious dual-sport enthusiasts the optimal balance between on- and off-road form and function. Designed to maintain peak performance without compromising the core values of long distance touring, the Hornet X2 is a true all-road, all-weather helmet. The Shoei Hornet X2 Adventure was created to replace the Shoei Hornet DS and to be a hybrid of a premium road and off-road helmet. The shape of the mouthpiece and chin bar area is designed to improve air intake and ventilation performance, while giving the rider additional air space needed to accommodate heavy breathing during off-road riding. Improving on the traditional off-road mouthpiece, the Hornet ADV provides additional protection in the event of adverse weather. A multi-stage lower vent shutter allows riders to fine tune airflow for most riding conditions. Features AIM+ (Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus Multi Fiber) shell construction is smaller, lighter, more compact and extremely aerodynamic Four shell sizes ensure a custom fit SM Shell XS-SM helmets MD Shell MD helmets LG Shell LG helmets XL Shell XL-2XL helmets Dual-layer multi-density EPS liner accommodates a more compact design without compromising ventilation The EPS liner has been engineered to provide varying densities of foam in key impact areas around the head, providing enhanced impact absorption CNS-2 face shield system is 3D injection-molded and offers a distortion-free view Innovative ribs on the top ridge of the shield improve rigidity when opening and closing QR-N base plate system offers quick and efficient shield removal without having to remove the visor Thicker, more durable face shield gasket Improved shield locking system Pinlock pins and insert are included 3D Max-Dry System II Interior are three-dimensionally shaped to match contours of the rider's head, allowing a comfortable fit while maintaining a firm hold for high speed riding 3D shaped cheek pads are available in multiple thicknesses for a custom fit Max-Dry System II liner material quickly absorbs and dissipates sweat and moisture Removable ear pads E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick-Release System) allows emergency personnel to easily remove cheek pads from an injured rider's head The V-460 Visor is the result of many hours in Shoei's wind tunnel and features an innovative wedge shape with strategically placed vent louvers which allow wind to pass through unobstructed at high speed Air is pushed into the helmet's upper air intake by the visor for optimal cooling Quarter turn screws allow for easy, tool-free removal of the visor Large multi-position lower air intake/defroster vent Two shutter-controlled upper air vents Four uniquely-positioned rear exhaust vents Three neck outlet vents Includes a removable breath guard and chin curtain to complete the comfort package Snell 2015 and DOT-218 approved Note Due to manufacturer restrictions, the Shoei Hornet X2 can only be shipped to addresses within the United States. Goggles shown are sold separately.

I had to replace my Hornet as it did it's job when I was turned into a lawn dart during a recent ride. I was going to just get another Hornet but after looking closely at the improvements to the Hornet X2 I ordered one up. It is a vast improvement over what was a very good helmet. Superior ventilation, face shield sealing, noise reduction and the visor is way better. I had my original Hornet for almost 5 years and it did it's job big time. Is the Hornet X2 expensive? It's all relative what do you think your life is worth, for me it is a cheap price to pay for protection.

I have had the Klim Badlands jacket for over a year and I just broke down and ponied up the bucks ($$$) for the pants. The jacket is GREAT so I had hoped the pants would leave me feeling the same way. They almost do but almost is the key word. The pants have a couple of minor shortcomings that prevent me giving them a 5 star rating. First they run just a bit tight in the waist compared to other Klim pants that I own. That is not a big deal, they have some adjustment built in but it is something I noticed. The next thing that does bug me is that the knee pads move around to much when riding. The knee pad pockets have some Velcro inside them to raise or lower the pads and the Velcro tends to come loose during hard off road riding and the pads have to much side to side movement. I am going to try and add some heavy duty Velcro to keep the pads in place but for what the pants cost, this should not need to be done. Other than those two bugs, I love the pants and I do recommend them, but I do so with letting my fellow riders know about the minor shortcomings I seem to have found.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have 2 of these jackets, one for all dirt riding during the winter months and 1 for street rides. They do run a tad large, I am 5' 11" 190 lbs and the large is just a tad to big the Med fits much better. I love the jacket as it is water proof with out having to use the liner! Protection is good and the water proof pockets are a big bonus. Lets face I bought 2 of these jackets, they are that good.

I have owned a pair of Ranger 2 pants for over 2 years and they still are in fantastic condition except for burn marks from my dirt bike exhaust pipe. I figured it was time to buy another pair for an upcoming road trip on my GS. I ordered the Ranger 3 pants and they arrived yesterday. I usually wear a 34-35 size waist so I ordered a size 36. The fit was perfect. I am 190 lbs and 5' 11" and with my riding boots on I do not have to hem them at all. If these pants last as well as my older ranger pants and I no doubt they will, than I will be very happy. I have ridden in pouring rain storms and stayed dry. The Olympia Ranger pants with the Oly AST Jacket is a combo that can not be beat for features, quality and value.
