This footprint is nice, but on dirt roads it tends to hit and scrap. I have ripped out two screws since installing it. It is still on, surprisingly. I do like the size of the footprint and has helped hold the big Tenere up on softer ground. However, the shape needs to be modified to prevent it from tearing off. I do have my preload adjusted all the way up and it hits prior to the rear shock bottoming out. I do recommend it, as there are worse choices out there. Just expect to hear the grinding if you are cruising on a dirt road.

AltRider Luggage Rack Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere The AltRider Luggage Rack for the Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z is greatly improved over the stock version, making it one of the first parts youll want to install on your new adventure bike. Designed to be strong for on or off road riding adventures, it is made from 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) aluminum and features side flanges for added rigidity and mounting points, as well as a completely redesigned bracket. This design also allows the luggage rack to be run in the low position (with out pillion seat or grab handles). It uses the same hardware, so there is nothing to lose. The AltRider Luggage Rack comes with a mounting bracket, made from 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) aluminum, which replaces the stock plastic mounting bracket and greatly increases the racks capacity. Between the bracket and rack, AltRider created a cubby that is 8.5 X 6 X 3. The cut-out pattern is perfect for creating a door with a bungee cord or ROK straps, making it a perfect glove box to stuff items in without the need to secure them. The rack itself is uniquely designed with a variety of cut-outs, so you can easily attach your bags with anything from straps to bungee cords to tie downs. The AltRider Pillion Rack is simple to install simply remove the stock pillion seat, and use the supplied bolts to attach the rack. All hardware is entirely recessed creating a completely flat luggage mounting surface. The AltRider Luggage System is the most versatile option on the market allowing a multitude of configurations based on your capacity needs. The Rear Luggage Rack can be mounted in an upper or lower position (lower position requires removal of stock grab handles). Use the Rear Luggage Rack in the lower position with the Pillion Rack to create over 2.5 square feet of completely flat mounting surface. All hardware is fully recessed, and every edge is laser cut and CNC-routered to ensure a smooth corner. If you want the option of using a top case, the AltRider Luggage Rack provides an interface for the Givi Monokey systems , allowing attachment with a mount kit (sold separately). The strong and versatile AltRider Luggage Rack for the Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z is a smart solution for packing up for your next ride, and can be used in either the standard or low position. Specifications Made from 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) anodized aluminum All stainless steel hardware Only compatible with the Givi Monokey top case system Luggage Rack System Dimensions Width 14 (36.3 cm) Length (combined) 26.9 (68.3 cm) Weight (combined) 5.9 lbs (2.7 kg) Rear Luggage Rack Dimensions Height 3 inches Width 14 inches Depth 14 inches Weight 3 lbs Pillion Rack Dimensions Length 12.9 (32.8 cm) Width 14.3 (36.3 cm) Weight 2.9 lbs (1.3 kg) Note Some images show the AltRider Givi Monokey Luggage Rack Kit , sold separately. Wow, this plate is AWESOME looking. Much more solid/sturdy than the original. EASY to INSTALL! Has pre-drilled holes for Givi Monokey cases and Rotopax. HOWEVER, DO NOT ORDER GIVI JUNCTION KIT, as it is not the correct part and will not work on the rack. Order the Altrider Givi Monokey kit. One thought, I like the underrack storage, but why waste the space? With the spacers, the rack leaves out 1/2 inch of space...why? See photo. Otherwise, GREAT!

AltRider Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z Crash Bars Now that youre the proud owner of a Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z, you want crash bars to protect it. AltRider's are built from one inch stainless steel so theyll never rust, and feature beautiful hand TIG welds. In designing these crash bars, AltRider went through the trouble of maintaining the hidden connector in the front to yield a seamless system. Why is that important It means the energy of a hard impact on one side can be transferred throughout the bars and to the other side. The three mounts on one side dont have to take an entire impact load instead, it is distributed across six mount mounts so none of them are overwhelmed. All of this is important because the crash bars will not only protect the fairing in the case of a crash, but also the Super Teneres exposed radiator. AltRider also conducted a thorough study to identify the bikes contact points when on its side. This led to a crash bar design that offers a wide contact area between the crash bars and the ground. The other contact points will be the handlebar bar ends, and rear passenger peg protecting the fairing, engine, radiator, and brake and shifter lever. Additionally, AltRider ensured the glove box side panel will have plenty of clearance to be easily removed while bars are still installed. Specifications Stainless T-304 construction Hand TIG welding 1 inch diameter tubing for strength Height 15 inches Width 20 inches Depth 18 inches Weight 11.5 lbs

I have been comparing these with the Givi, and decided on the Altrider. Though I have not had a chance to actually "test" their durability, they have great welds, and are joined together solidly. Ease of install...well...I had every bolt loose, and one side still did not line up well. It took some few choice words and ten hail mary's, but they did go on. Lock tight on everything and I hope i do not have to take them off.
