Bang for the Buck
Okay, now that I've had a chance to really test the product, I can offer some valid testimony. I've ridden in all kinds of conditions- wet, dry, foggy, sunny, night and day.
The product isn't all that difficult to place on the face shield- it might be hard to get exactly centered, as you might notice uneven elevation on the sides, but it's really not a problem. Initially I was worried that the black adhesive line was going to interfere with my line of sight, but it's really a non-issue.
There is a slight amount of distortion, as you view through the product, but it's not that significant. And it's actually pretty good while riding at night- there is a little bit of halo action, but it's to be expected, as you are looking through two layers of plastic.
The product does a pretty good job of keeping the fog off, but it's not perfect. Once, I let the humidity build up against the face shield to a point where the fog began to sweat together. That formed a liquid distortion line that remained in my view for the rest of my commute, even though the fog had left. Nowadays, if I'm sitting at a light for a while, I'll give it some help.
Also, dark cobalt blue? Are they high? Ummm...no. Perhaps a light tinge of blue tint, just enough to keep you from a full squint, but it's hardly any different than when it's darkened.
But for the price, it's a solution that is well worth the money. During the winter, it works for me, when the sun isn't as strong and I'm not sure what the weather will be like. I do like being able to see at night (unlike riding with my other dark smoke face shield). The anti-fog aspect of it works about 80% effective, but that's good enough for me. Would I buy it again at this price? You bet I would!
BMC Air Filter Cleaning Kit Detergent formulated for maximum cleaning Low viscosity oil for best air permeability Race tested for performance and reliability Sizes Kit A Detergent (500ml) and bottle air filter oil (250ml) Kit B Detergent (500ml) and spray air filter oil (200ml)
Been wanting to get this for a long time. Most vendors are charging outrageous prices for the kit, so I went with Revzilla. I've had great service with them in the past- fast, cheap and no surprises.
The product is exactly as you see in the picture. There's no spray, so it can get a little messy. Also it's a little tricky to estimates just how much of the oil that you'll need. I over-oiled, by accident, and probably ended up using enough to do one more filter. My advice- be sparing- that oil will spread big-time, if given an hour to seep.
Could I have just done the dish soap thing? or used the K&N kit? Probably, but I paid good money for that BMC filter, so why not just use the product that they made specifically for the filter? The bike ran like a champ afterward and I felt comfortable not having to second guess if the kit was compatible with my filter. I believe it was money well spent!

I've been eying these rear sets for about five years now. I used jack up plates to keep the cost down, but after having to replace a shifter and brake pedal, I finally decided to go with Woodcrafts, because the price of OEM parts (even cheapo aftermarket parts) are SO expensive. Just have your Loc-tite and grease ready- they assemble so easily. The fit is so precise and tight. They now come with the black plastic buttons on the ends, so you don't have to hunt those down. The pegs were actually shorter than I had thought, which is a good thing, knurled all the way up to the outer lip.
My bike is doing double-duty, riding street and track. My only complaint is that the knurling is so aggressive that on the shifter pedal, that unless you're wearing real riding boots, your shoes are going to get torn up. I don't always feel like wearing my Sidi boots, so it's really my fault, but I addressed the issue by wrapping the shifter tip with duct tape- the knurling will still bite through the tape, so you'll still get friction against your shoe, but the bite just isn't as deep,
All in all, the product is SUPER-SOLID and I am very pleased with the quality of the rear sets. I have not yet crashed with these, but I have confidence that they will hold up just fine, saving me money in replacement parts in the long run.
